Chapter 1: Chapter 1 - Rebirth
Within a moderate size house on the outskirts of London, a boy was tapping his finger within a book. The boy's deep sea blue eyes flickered back and forth quickly as he continued to tap his finger in thought. Right before he stopped and grabbed the notebook next to him and began to furiously write page after page.
His eyes took on a red hue glow while a blue pentagram appeared over his irises with strange lettering formed a circle around it. While it slightly shifted as his eyes moved, as time moved on the boy's movements slowed as his face paled. It wasn't long before sweat formed on his forehead and his once healthy look vanished into a sickly appearance.
In the end after filling seventy of the eighty page notebook, the boy simply tossed it into a pile near the door. Where other such notebooks were stacked in a slightly messy pile. The only noteworthy things were the titles from optimizing cold medicine to a few big name world wide terminal illnesses like AIDS and Cancer treatment.
However, the boy began to lightly bang his head against his book. While he slightly bashed himself for not being able to hold back his desire. For writing such things clearly doesn't belong in an eleven year old room or anyone's room, but instead a research center with teams of scientists and scholars.
Soon the door opened to his room where a man with a neatly groomed appearance entered. The man had dark raven colored hair with soft brown eyes. In which he shared zero similarity to the blonde hair boy who just looked down.
"Did you do it again, son?" The man asked, clearly not mad, but more worried.
"Yeah." He replied softly. "I caved in to the desire."
"I have told you many times Felix, suppressing will just have an opposite effect." The man replied as he picked up the latest notebook. "You have a wonderful gift and shouldn't squash what makes you special. Many will look strangely at you or call you names, but that is because of not understanding you or being envious."
"Special huh." Felix sighed mostly to himself.
He didn't feel special nor did he want to, since what happened to him is done by one thing. It was his ability after being reincarnated into this new life. For upon being reincarnated, he learned he was able to peek into evolution paths of basically everything he sees, touches or feels. He is able to see the past, present, and future of what an item or species were, is, or could be.
To top it off, he can even look at the recipes or what is needed to make what he wants happen. So if he wanted to make a futuristic chair that could float and be super comfortable, he could. Granted he would need to meet the requirement of gathering what is needed to create it. On the other hand, if he wanted to breed a new type of mouse capable of shooting electricity, like in that cartoon with the eternal ten year old. It was also possible.
However, he is only able to peek for a short while and would need to write the processing steps down quickly. Otherwise, it would burden his body and mind, making him have a headache if he was lucky or a migraine with a body that felt like it ran three marathons in a row. Humans weren't meant to peek into such things and it's already lucky he wasn't insane looking at the near infinity possibility.
Now, one could simply say he shouldn't look, but it interested him greatly and he was addicted. It was also thanks to this when he was reborn into the Wool's Orphanage, no one dared to adopt him. Since he was fairly weak and due to often peeking intentionally and unintentionally when he tried to learn how his ability worked. Not until he was adopted by a recently widower doctor, did someone see him as special. Since he often writes down what he sees or interests him, it gives him an image of a sickly but genius boy.
Luckily as he grew older and gained control of himself and his peeking ability. He slowly lost his sickly imagination for the most part. Though in his adoptive father William's view, his body grew to support his massive genius talent. However, he will regain it if he uses his ability for a period of time like he just did.
"What really brings you to my room?" Felix asked.
"Well, a letter was dropped off for you and it's pretty strange as it was addressed to your room without any stamps." William held out a letter.
Taking the letter, the first thing Felix noticed was its thickness. While he looked at his name printed on the back in bold but neat calligraphy. Which he noted was from a feather quill and not a pen.
"Felix Grindelwald, Second Room on the Second Floor." He read lightly. "Isn't that a bit creepy."
Upon flipping it over, he saw a red wax seal with a large H and four animals surrounding it. He saw such a thing in his previous life and knew it belonged to a unique school to learn magic, battle trolls, slay a thousand year old snake that can kill with a look, outflying dragons, and running at night with werewolves. For the school was known as Hogwarts, the safest non safe place.
Opening up the letter, Felix hummed at the standard Hogwarts letter that formerly invited him to school. A letter he heard thousands of times before in the movie to fanfictions. However, unlike others, Felix didn't care much about going to Hogwarts, though it probably would be safer there. Since if by some chance the magical community learned of his last name, then a mob hunt has a fairly high possibility. Since whoever named him gave him the name of a powerful dark lord who basically brought a large chunk of the wizarding world to its knees.
'It's just going to school at this time. I don't need to deal with Harry Potter and his gang.' Felix thought to himself.
Felix had found himself reborn in the mid 1960's and by the few points he remembered of the canon and not fanfiction. James and Sirius should be in their fifth or graduating year. Well at least nearing so.
'Well, it's probably a pain, but I guess I will need to track down Voldemort Horecruxes in a few years. It won't have an insane warlord running about.' Felix thought to himself.
As for waiting for Harry Potter to find the Horcruxes. Felix had no such idea since why would he want to wait nearly twenty five years for a boy to track them down. While he may not know where many are, he knows where the Ravenclaw Diadem is and he is sure if he uses his unique gift to track them all. Then he could possibly break them all without having to track them down.
"So what is the letter? Some prank?" William asked.
"An invitation to a private boarding school." Felix hummed. "It says that one of the professors will stop by tomorrow at noon."
"That is a bit sudden." William frowns. "I have work and I can't take the day off."
Felix could only nod to that point as setting such a meeting didn't give them time to arrange things. However, Felix felt it was partially his fault due to his last name. Despite offering to change it to match Williams, the man shook his head as he liked his last name. According to Williams, it gave a unique feeling when saying it and would be a shame to change it.
"Well, I could meet them by myself." Felix said.
"No can do, remember you have an appointment tomorrow morning and your physical training in the afternoon with Mr. Granger." William shook his head.
"I forgot about that." Felix sighed as if he really did forget.
Due to having a weak body, William would have Felix doing a check up basically every month or so. While he also hired a physical trainer who basically managed Felix body diet and fitness. Which he didn't mind since he did benefit when he did cave to his desire and the side effects are weakened. Only if he had to complain about something, it was because his trainer was a retired soldier and a man who loved talking about his son.
"I guess we'll just leave a note for the professor. They can make a wasted trip as punishment for scheduling an appointment like this." William said.
Felix just lightly hummed, but figured if he wrote a letter and held it out the window. An owl will grab it and deliver it for him. Though, he didn't plan to tell William that more because he was more lazy in that regard than trying to keep magic a secret. Since it was a bit hard to explain magic, but unable to really show it.
Sure he could do a few parlor tricks with wandless magic, however unlike what many fanfictions say or do. Wandless magic, while useful, wasn't all powerful or superior to a wand, since in essence, it was just another form of using magic.
