Honkai impact: Dimensional Herrscher

Chapter 107: Hungry Kiana

The door creaked open, snapping Adam out of his thoughts.

It has been a few minutes after his chat with the new member

"Adam- senpai?"

-There came a familiar, yet nostalgic voice. It was slightly muffled, but it still carried its usual, vibrant tone.

He turned, an eyebrow raised as Kiana strode into his room, her eyes glued to the half-eaten honkai ball in his hand.

Her gaze had an unusual glint, almost as if a strange hunger lingered beneath her typically silly expression.

"Kiana?" His voice was curious, noting her intense focus on the snack he held. "Did you need something?"

Her eyes followed his hand as he lifted the honkai ball closer to his mouth, her gaze solely on the object in his hand.

"Adam-senpai, Are you…" She took a step forward, almost unconsciously, her hand already reaching toward him. "-Eating that?"

Adam looked at the honkai ball thoughtfully before glancing back at her.

"You mean these white balls? Yeah," He replied casually, holding up the tiny sphere. "Don't tell me you're interested?"

Kiana didn't answer right away.

She seemed transfixed, staring at the ball of honkai energy with an odd intensity that was out of character for her.

Adam's eyes narrowed as a thought struck him. It was almost as though…she wasn't the one staring at it.

Sirin.

Of course. Her Herrscher side—the part of her that resonated with honkai energy—must be drawn to its concentrated purity.

As he realized this, Adam felt…. that it was an interesting development

Sorry, what did you say? Sirin is dangerous?

So what? If the Herrscher of the Void dares to come out, he will spank her so hard that she retreats back to Kiana's body out of fear

"Adam-senpai…"

Kiana's voice softened, almost hesitant, sounding like a begging cat

"Can I…try one?"

"Really?" He was more amused than anything. "Since when did you like eating strange white balls that look metallic?"

"I don't know, but… " The white-haired girl shifted, looking away for a moment before meeting his gaze. "Seeing you eat it just made me—"

She hesitated-

"Well, it looks really good, okay?!"

….

The warrior finally admitted it frankly, a small pout on her face as she ran out of excuses

Did she need a good reason to eat something delicious?!

This ball-shaped snack smelled really good, so she just wanted to try it!

…..

"Alright, Kiana." Adam sighed, popping another honkai ball into his mouth with a smirk. "But this isn't a snack for 'normies,' as I like to say."

He picked up another ball, this one brighter and more refined, and tossed it to her.

 "Here, catch."

She fumbled, catching the ball and holding it in her palm with a strange carefulness, as if she could feel the concentrated honkai energy pulsing from within.

Adam watched carefully as she brought it up to her mouth, hesitated for a brief moment, then bit into it.

Crunch.

"Huh…!" Her eyes widened as she processed the taste, shock blending with an expression of unexpected satisfaction.

"Shoooow goood!"

She shouted out in satisfaction while still chewing, stars in her eyes as she savored the taste as if it were some rare delicacy.

This is one of the tastiest snacks she has ever eaten!

This texture, this taste, this warmth that seemed to seep into her being every time she took a bite…

It was amazing!

"Adam-senpai! I want more! What is this?!"

The white-haired girl happily came up to him with a bouncy step, staring at him with puppy dog eyes while vibrating in excitement

"Oh, these? Nothing much, they are just some ball-shaped snacks made out of honkai beasts"

He replied casually, tossing a honkai ball snack into the air and catching it

"Oh, okay-"

Kiana instinctively replied, before she fully realized what came out of his mouth

"Eh?!"

The white-haired girl's expression froze, eyes widening

"You know about Honkai?!"

She looked at him, blue eyes still widened

"Obviously"

He rolled his eyes at her

"But-! but….!"

Waving her arms around like a flopping Tuna, she seemed to struggle to find the right words

"Hm… Now that I think about it…" Adam put a hand under his chin, tilting his head "We have never talked about honkai"

-Indeed, he had never talked to Kiana about honkai

So it was obvious that she thought he wasn't aware

Though…

The silver-haired boy was on that Rwby mission for such a long time, and it slipped his mind

"Wait-!" She widened her eyes once again in realization "How did you know I know about honkai?"

The warrior put her hands on her hips, looking at his with narrowed eyes

"Honestly, Kiana…" Adam smiled, a teasing light in his eyes "I would be stupid not to realize that… After all, your surname is Kaslana"

"Oh, hehe"

She smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of her head with embarrassment

"Well, Adam-senpai…. I don't know how you found out about honkai, but…." She put her hands on her hips once again, puffing out her chest "Now that you know about honkai, don't worry! I will protect you!"

Her blue eyes were serious as she looked at him with a slight smile

She didn't ask how he knew about honkai, nor did she ask anything else

It seemed that for her, it only mattered that her friend knew about Honkai, and that she now had to protect him

"Oh?" He raised an eyebrow in amusement "Are you sure you can do that?"

"Of course!"

Kiana lightly patted her palm against her chest repeatedly with a bright smile still on her face, as if to express her determination

"A Kaslana always fulfills their promises…! Especially when it comes to protecting people!"

"...."

Looking at her bright smile, yet hearing the serious tone in her voice…. Adam didn't have the heart to reject her and tell her that it wasn't needed

"Then I'm looking forward to it"

He smirked at her

Though Kiana couldn't really protect him at this point… It still felt nice having someone that cared about him so much

It was certainly an interesting feeling.

Having to look out and be wary all the time in this life was draining… So having someone promising to protect him made him feel… warm

Oh, as for Bianka?

The silver-haired boy does like the silly goose, but unfortunately, she is too silly.

And besides that, Otto watched her like an old pervert who likes grooming children, so he never felt truly at ease when he was around her

"Yeah! While I beat those honkai beasts, you should cheer me from the sidelines!"

Adam's smirk softened as he watched Kiana reply enthusiastically and proceed to munch on the honkai ball without any delay

He hadn't seen her in what felt like ages—or was it just a week?

This mission made it feel as if more time actually passed. And somewhere in the haze of his responsibilities, he'd started to miss her presence.

"Feels like it's been forever since I last saw you," The silver-haired boy murmured, his voice dropping almost as if he hadn't meant to say it aloud.

"What are you talking about, Adam-senpai?" Kiana blinked, her expression shifting into one of mild confusion. "I just saw you yesterday,"

Her mouth opened, before a strange flicker of emotion appeared in her eyes-

"Unless… you're saying that you actually missed me?"

She replied, crossing her arms with a smug smile, but her eyes seemed to radiate curiosity

….

He hesitated, realizing that she didn't know about the missions.

From her perspective, she didn't see him for just a day.

But from his perspective, it was a week.

….Which doesn't seem that long, actually

But still, Adam missed the Tuna and his Master Chief!

"Yeah, something like that." He brushed off the deeper explanation, meeting her gaze with a familiar smirk. "Guess I just forgot what it was like to have you around pestering me."

"Oh, come on!" Kiana rolled her eyes, pouting. "You're the one always off doing… whatever it is you do!"

A chuckle escaped him, and he tossed her another honkai ball.

"Fair point. But I guess I didn't realize how much I'd gotten used to your presence"

The white-haired girl's expression became lighter, though her confusion lingered as she glanced down at the honkai ball in her hand.

"Adam-senpai, you're acting kind of weird today"

She tilted her head, blinking at him

"You are also a bit weird at times, Kiana"

His lips curled into a smile

"Hmph!"

She snorted, munching on the honkai ball and pouting again

"But… I'll let it slide this time!"

"Oh? Then I am honored"

"Hehe! You should be!"

Ah yes, this familiar banter….

Killing so many creatures and staying in another world tired Adam… Not physically, but mentally

And so, he is grateful to have this silly girl to talk to. After all, her mere presence can heal mental fatigue

A/N:

Here is your Kiana chapter, have your Tuna reserves been refilled?

I wanted to add one more scene, but....

I procrastinated.

No that is not exactly true.... Beyond school stuff, I wasted my free time playing Rocket League and Maplestory

I know, not the most productive thing I could do....

But still, I enjoyed it, and it dissipated some of the stress accumulated from school
