I Died in a Knife Fight and Reincarnated into Jujutsu Kaisen

Chapter 24: Chapter 24 Be Careful Brutal

Smoke hung heavily over the devastated forest clearing. This thick, choking mist mingled with the acrid stench of burning wood and the scent of blood. Shattered earth, splintered trees, and shredded bark painted a grim portrait of merciless conflict, a silent testament to the violence that had just unfolded.

Yuji Itadori panted heavily, clutching a wounded arm, blood mixing freely with sweat on his bruised and battered face. His chest rose and fell rapidly, heart pounding against his ribs. Beside him, Todo stood, fists clenched tightly, knuckles white beneath streaks of blood and dirt, jaw set in grim determination despite visible exhaustion.

Opposite them, Hanami loomed like a dark, twisted monolith, bark cracked and sinewy roots exposed and quivering. His once serene visage was twisted into a mask of rage and desperation, his left arm shattered beyond use, dangling uselessly at his side. Thick, cursed blood seeped from the fractures, dripping onto the desecrated earth.

"You humans persist like insects," Hanami snarled, voice ragged yet dripping with defiance. "You cannot defeat nature!"

A chilling presence emerged silently through the lingering dust and smoke, shadowy and deliberate, radiating an oppressive aura of dread.

Alex strode forward, blades glinting ominously in the dim, fractured light. His eyes, devoid of fear or mercy, met Hanami's challenging gaze with chilling calmness.

"Nature dies every day," Alex intoned calmly , his voice was cold, measured, each word sharpened by icy disdain. "Today, you're next."

Hanami lunged desperately, roots erupting violently from the ground like deadly spears. Without breaking stride, Alex raised one hand effortlessly, unleashing an invisible, vector-controlled wave of force. The roots shattered mid-flight, reduced to mere splinters that scattered harmlessly.

Hanami staggered, visibly shaken by the ease of Alex's counterattack. He growled fiercely, desperate anger flickering in his eyes. In that moment of hesitation, Alex extended both hands, unleashing an overwhelming pulse of controlled strength. Hanami screamed as his limbs exploded outward, splinters and cursed blood flying in every direction, leaving him limbless, collapsing instantly to the ground in utter incapacitation.

Yuji stared, horror-stricken and frozen in disbelief. He'd never witnessed such calculated brutality.

"Stay back," Todo cautioned, voice taut and strained with tension. "He'll handle this."

Calmly, almost casually, Alex approached the mutilated corpse. His blades gleamed maliciously as he seized Hanami by the remnants of his throat, knives temporarily forgotten. Plunging his fingers mercilessly into the curse's bark-covered face, Alex forced the curse's head upward, forcing Hanami to look directly into his cold, pitiless eyes.

"You value this face," Alex whispered coldly, so close that Hanami felt the warmth of his breath. "Allow me to correct it."

With savage precision, Alex tore downward, stripping the bark and flesh from Hanami's face as if peeling layers from a dying tree. Hanami's anguished scream reverberated through the clearing, thick, oily, cursed blood gushing freely from exposed flesh.

"Mercy..." Hanami choked out, voice thick and desperate, drowning in agony.

"No mercy," Alex replied flatly. "Not for you."

Methodically, he drove his blade into Hanami's open, ruined jaw, slicing brutally upward, cleaving half the curse's skull open. The sickening sound of bone cracking and flesh tearing resonated hauntingly through the clearing.

Todo turned away, visibly pale, stomach churning at the horrifying spectacle. Yuji remained frozen, eyes wide with shock, unable to tear his gaze away from the gruesome execution unfolding before him.

Alex stepped back momentarily, watching impassively as Hanami collapsed fully to the ground, choking violently on his own viscous blood. The curse trembled, its ravaged face twitching feebly.

"Finish it," Yuji murmured weakly, voice shaking, pleading for a swift end.

Without hesitation, Alex gripped the remnants of Hanami's skull by tangled roots, lifting it to eye level. Carefully, deliberately, he began carving away large chunks, systematically reducing Hanami's twitching form to a lifeless ruin.

Unsatisfied, Alex continued his macabre task with detached precision, blades flashing rhythmically as he severed the curse's remaining roots, leaving nothing recognisable. His expression remained utterly impassive, emotionless as black cursed blood pooled beneath him, soaking the forest floor.

With calculated precision, Alex forced open Hanami's shattered jaw, slicing cleanly through the grotesque tongue, severing and removing it entirely. A final, weak spasm ran through Hanami's ruined body.

Yet even this was not the end. Alex methodically scalped the curse, meticulously peeling away layers of bark and flesh, exposing bare bone and raw tissue beneath. Thick, dark blood drenched his hands, staining them intensely.

With clinical efficiency, Alex drove his knife expertly into the exposed skull's base, severing the brain stem. A last convulsion rippled through the curse before stillness finally claimed Hanami completely.

Casually discarding the desecrated remnants, Alex stood silently, thoroughly drenched in cursed blood, his blades dripping ominously. He exuded a predatory calmness that unnerved even Todo, who exchanged uneasy, fearful glances with Yuji, their breath shallow and faces pale.

Soft footsteps approached from behind, announcing the arrival of Gojo Satoru. The powerful sorcerer paused, surveying the horrific tableau with mild surprise. "Well," Gojo remarked softly, adjusting his blindfold slightly, "that's certainly one way to send a message."

Alex offered no acknowledgement, entirely absorbed in meticulously cleaning his blood-stained blades.

Gojo studied Alex closely, his hidden gaze filled with cautious curiosity. "You've certainly given curses something new to fear."

Meeting Gojo's concealed gaze steadily, Alex replied, "That was the intention."

An oppressive silence reclaimed the forest clearing, broken only by the persistent drip of cursed blood onto the desecrated earth, a grim testament to the birth of something monstrous and terrifyingly powerful.

Eventually, Yuji broke the silence, voice wavering noticeably. "Was... was this necessary?"

Alex's gaze slowly shifted to Yuji, cold eyes narrowing slightly. "Fear is necessary. Without fear, curses persist. They must learn dread...real dread."

Gojo interjected softly, attempting to break the heavy tension. "Fear is powerful, Alex. However, remember that it cuts both ways. Those who wield it risk being consumed."

Alex's lips curved into a subtle, humourless smile. "Then I shall master it."

Todo regained his composure slightly and stepped forward. "You're strong. But strength without restraint destroys allies as surely as enemies."

Alex calmly sheathed his cleaned blades, meeting Todo's gaze without wavering. "I possess absolute control. You have nothing to fear from me—unless you choose to oppose me."

Yuji shuddered visibly, chilled to his core by Alex's quiet conviction.

Gojo sighed softly, glancing once more at the bloody tableau before them. "Let's hope you're right. Such power, unchecked, could reshape everything, for better or worse."

Alex met Gojo's gaze without hesitation. "Then we shall see which it becomes."
