I'm Not A Master, I'm A Director (Creating Fate Movie In Nasuverse)

Chapter 208: Chapter 210: So Dumb, How Could They Be a Girl?!

That evening, at the temporary Fate/Apocrypha crew meeting room.

"Is it just the few of us here?"

Kairi Sisigou glanced around. Aside from himself, the only ones in the meeting room were the members who had participated in the crew discussion earlier in the day.

The only exception was Astolfo—this airheaded, borderline alien-like person was also not present.

"I heard that Type-Moon's company screenings usually gather everyone together, right?" Sisigou asked curiously.

"That's because I'm giving you all a detailed analysis with pauses here and there. To avoid disrupting everyone else's viewing experience, of course I brought you here separately," Shinji explained while adjusting the playback equipment.

"So, the others are still gathering somewhere else to watch?"

Mordred pouted in dissatisfaction. "How boring! I wanted to watch with Father and admire her dashing moves on the big screen."

Shinji chuckled. "I don't think that's necessary. Even though she's the actor in Heaven's Feel, she's playing Alter, the version she hates the most. If you praise her, you're just hitting a nerve."

Hearing that, Mordred scratched her head with an awkward laugh. "Black Father is awesome too… though it'd be great if she hit me a little more gently."

'So you're assuming you're definitely going to get hit, huh?'

Shinji wasn't sure whether to praise Mordred for her self-awareness or criticize her lack of restraint. Or maybe it was a bit of both.

"Where's Astolfo? Why isn't he here?"

Jeanne felt puzzled seeing that only Mordred, one of the Fate/Apocrypha's favorite stars, was present.

"With Astolfo's level of intelligence, do you think he'd understand anything I say?" Shinji countered, making Jeanne slap her forehead.

"Fair enough."

Astolfo's sheer obliviousness was almost legendary. Explaining things to him wouldn't just be like talking to a wall—it would be a miracle if one or two sentences stuck out of ten.

And with his penchant for chaos, he'd likely turn the session into a disaster.

Low learning efficiency combined with a high chance of disrupting the class? No wonder Shinji excluded him.

"I wonder if he'll feel left out."

Shinji waved dismissively. "Not a chance. If he had the brainpower to feel that way, I would've brought him here."

"Master, isn't it a bit rude to talk about someone like that?"

Jeanne grimaced awkwardly.

Meanwhile, Astolfo—oblivious to all this—was indeed as carefree as Shinji described.

At that moment, Astolfo was sitting in the back row of the crew's screening room, munching on a bag of chips.

Even though the show hadn't started yet, a small pile of snack wrappers had already formed at his feet.

Summoned Servants rarely failed to be intrigued by modern life. Hedonists like Iskandar were obvious examples, but even knights with strict codes like Jeanne or Arturia enjoyed modern conveniences.

Of all modern attractions, food was the most fascinating to Servants. After all, even ancient royalty and nobility couldn't compete with modern food in terms of variety and quality. The older the Servant, the more stark the difference.

Modern food, a product of industrialization and scientific advancements, had transformed the art of preparation, flavoring, and storage, creating a stark contrast with ancient times. Even Gilgamesh had to admit that, aside from extinct ingredients, the only delicacies in his treasury that could rival modern food were divine wines.

Especially candy and snacks—they were beloved by most Servants, turning many into gluttons.

Of course, not all gluttons were created equal.

Arturia, the queen of indiscriminate consumption, or Alter, who had dedicated a century to junk food, were peak examples.

Slightly lower-tier was Gilgamesh, who insisted on refined cuisine, favoring either kaiseki meals or high-end French dishes.

Astolfo, the adorable middle-tier eater, didn't have a gourmand's appetite, but his unchanging physique as a Servant meant he could gorge on his favorites endlessly.

If Arturia was a gluttonous beast and Gilgamesh a mighty dragon, then Astolfo was an adorable squirrel.

Especially with his constant nibbling and his puffed cheeks—it was just—

"So cute!"

Ilya and Akiha, sitting behind Astolfo, stared at him with curious, baby-like expressions.

"Hey, hey, hey, Onii-chan," Ilya poked Shirou in the side.

"Huh?"

"Is he really a boy?"

Transformed into a curious kitten, Ilya turned to her brother.

"Can't you tell just by looking? Of course I'm a boy!"

Hearing the conversation behind him, Astolfo turned around, grinning with his small, sharp teeth.

'What part of you looks like a boy?!'

Ilya and Akiha responded with wide-eyed, incredulous looks as if to say, Are you kidding us?

"Come on, my build totally screams boy, doesn't it?"

Astolfo tilted his head, genuinely puzzled about why the two girls thought otherwise.

Akiha coldly retorted, "Saber-san is flat like you, but she's still a girl, isn't she? Plus, you snack just as much as she does—how could you not be a girl?"

Crunch

A sound of something snapping echoed. On the other side of the room, Arturia froze, the cookie she was about to eat hanging mid-air.

"I've sunk to the same level as that fool…"

Arturia suddenly found her cookie far less appetizing.

"Hey, now that you mention it…"

Astolfo curiously glanced over at the King of Knight, only to be met with her sharp glare.

"Don't look at me!"

A flustered Arturia tossed a box of candy at Astolfo.

Astolfo, however, caught it with a grin and happily unwrapped a piece, popping it into his mouth.

"Is this for me? Thank you, Mordred's dad!"

If anyone else had said that, it would have been taken as a blatant provocation. Arturia might have even drawn her sword for a duel.

But since it was Astolfo, Arturia had no intention of starting trouble.

"Getting worked up over an idiot just makes me feel like I'm on the same level."

With a sigh, Arturia moved to a spot far away from Astolfo, opting for a see no evil approach.

As for the little lolis, Ilya and Akiha, watching Astolfo happily munch on candy finally convinced them he was indeed a boy.

Because—

"Girls couldn't possibly be that dumb." x2

Both Ilya and Akiha sighed simultaneously.

"Shinji-nii said this guy would be really popular in the future. Do you think anyone would actually like someone this dumb?"

"Because he's dumb, he seems easy to fool. Maybe that's what Director-san meant."

"Oh, in that case, people might even fight over this gullible guy!"

"If that happens, I'd really like to see it."

At this point, the two little lolis turned their gazes toward Shirou.

"Hey! You two little brats!"

Nearby, Shirou clenched his fist in irritation. If the Heaven's Feel finale wasn't starting on the big screen, Shirou might have gone over to give them a good smack.

After all, teaching his sisters a lesson couldn't possibly outweigh the importance of watching himself look cool on the big screen.

<+>

The sixth episode of Heaven's Feel opened directly where the previous one ended, starting with a shot of Shirou Emiya's dashing back.

The image of a young man unleashing the power of the Holy Shroud and defeating a giant was both strong and heroic. Gone was the boy's prior hesitation—he had grown into a man.

Unfortunately, Shirou's favorite scene of himself looking cool lasted only a few seconds before cutting away to wrap up Kirei Kotomine's storyline.

Shirou sighed regretfully. "What a shame! Why couldn't they linger on that shot a bit longer?"

Little did Shirou know, this scene was already a polished version thanks to Shinji's editing.

In the original game script, Shirou would immediately collapse after his brief moment of glory, lying flat on the ground.

If Saber Alter hadn't shown up and spared him with her mercy, there might have been another Emiya family grave in Fuyuki City.

Shinji revised this part of the script for a simple reason: it was completely unnecessary.

The scene added nothing besides giving viewers a chance to complain about why Saber Alter didn't finish him off.

The information Saber Alter provided to Shirou could be revealed later, so Shinji cut the forest exit scene and transitioned directly to Kotomine's subplot.

At this moment, with Zouken Matou physically "exorcised" by the priest, only two remained at the scene: the blood-soaked priest Kotomine Kirei and Assassin pinned to a tree trunk.

The two heavily injured combatants, nearly out of strength, engaged in a round of mutual praise.

Assassin complimented Kirei for killing Zouken with spiritual words and marveled at the priest's heartless body, deducing that Kirei had been corrupted by the Holy Grail.

Kirei, in turn, praised Assassin's exceptional assassination skills, admitting that without prior knowledge of Assassin's Noble Phantasm through Lancer, he'd likely be the one dead.

Despite their lighthearted banter, their wary postures betrayed their mutual distrust.

Kirei knew he couldn't deal with Assassin. Though the Servant was immobilized, getting too close would be suicidal.

Feigning calmness, Kirei casually chatted with Hassan while staying on guard. Once he regained a bit of strength, he prepared to leave and search for Shirou Emiya.

However—

"Sorry, but you're not going anywhere."

A young girl appeared before Kirei, blocking his path.

"Because you'll die here, Kotomine Kirei."

With a faint smile, Sakura Matou, clad in black, pronounced the priest's death sentence.

<+>

"Is this what they call a bad girl's declaration?"

From her seat, Ilya watched Sakura lick her fingers on-screen, clearly impressed.

"That's so cool! Can I use that line too? I'll be playing the dark version of myself later, right? Should I try Sakura-onee-san's template?"
