Chapter 270: Golden Class ID

Lucas had gone inside the city hall which was a very big building, and after searching around for the right place out of the many present, he finally fell into the queue.

The queue was relatively big but one after another, Lucas saw people leaving with happy faces.

It made him look forward to it too.

"Excuse me, is this line for the class IDs?" A man asked Lucas from the back.

"Yes, you can see it right there," Lucas said while pointing at the side yet some people were standing in front of the board.

"Never mind, I am Lucas," Lucas said while chuckling and offering his hand for a handshake.

"I am Mark. What class are you here to register for, Lucas?" Mark asked with excitement.

It seemed like he wanted to tell someone about his class too.

"It's crafting one, I have high proficiency in crafting things with my class's help."

"That's cool, but I am completely different, I got berserker!!" The man said while shouting getting many weird looks.

"Ohh, that is great," Lucas said while waiting for some pain in the head yet nothing happened.

'So previous Lucas also doesn't know stuff... that's good.'

If the number of things that the previous Lucas knew about was diminishing, it meant Lucas could get to know stuff on his own too now without getting headaches.

Before he knew it, he was the first in the line now. Mark had pestered him all this while with pieces of information related to his class.

Lucas was interested in it but then he found the skill boring. His was better and he already knew a lot about how to fight.

"Hi, I am Lucas Garde."

"Nice to meet you Mr. Lucas, can I see your identification card?" The man with glasses said.

"Sure." Lucas gave him the only ID he had and waited.

"Alright, please keep your hand on this orb, we have to assess your class."

Lucas did just that and a hologram a lot smaller than the first one popped up.

The man looked at it and then touched a big book with closed eyes.

"Congratulations for getting a rare class. We will make a special golden ID in order to make it easy for you to stand out with your resume." The man said with a smile.

"What?! What's so good about a crafting skill!?" Mark from the back asked with a frown, he couldn't believe it.

Lucas wanted to hold his laugh yet he did not. Even he was curious.

"Young man, this is a skill seen after hundreds of years. And the skill itself is very useful, the last user was a crafter for the hero's party."

The whole line looked at Lucas with bewilderment. Even Lucas was surprised.

"I didn't expect that at lot, the High Priest had told me this was useless."

"Surely, you jest, Mr. Lucas. Here, your ID is ready." The man said while chuckling.

Lucas could only shake his head with a smile, nobody would believe what he did or saw with the High Priest. Now that he had already thought about it a lot, Lucas decided to not push the matter about the High Priest any further.

The High Priest and the church were in too deep with the empire's best or even above. He was happy that they were not enemies and the High Priest had taught him a little humility which he could never in the territory.

"You… You really are something man," Mark said while scratching his head.

"I am surely not, but I hope we can be friends, Mark. Would you like to meet up after two days?" Lucas asked quickly and bluntly, he didn't have time.

He was the quickest chance for him to know what this town could offer for fighting. Lucas was already itching from not using a sword for 2 days now.

"R-Really?! I would love to! Let's meet in the city hall again after 2 days! What timing are you free?"

"We can meet in the morning, now if you will excuse me. I have urgent matters to deal with. Goodbye."

"Yeah! BYE!" Mark shouted in response and closed his mouth.

Mark kept looking at Lucas leave with an admiring look.

"He is like a noble…" He thought out aloud.

"Well, you are mistaken, he is an orphan."

Mark heard a voice and he moved toward it, there was a group of three approaching him.

"Do I know you?"

"No, but I was just answering your question." The man in the middle said, he had snake eyes and very dark circles under the eyes.

"Do you know Lucas?" Mark asked with curiosity.

"Why wouldn't I? He is our brother." The man said with a smile.

"Oh! Is that the case? Well, it's nice meeting you." Mike tried being polite and giving a handshake yet the snake eyes guy just kept looking at it until he looked at Mark again.

"I just came to tell you that Lucas is the worst, he will only hurt you, I can assure you because I too stay away from him. He is bad news."

Mark just looked at him with confusion.

"This was just a suggestion because I don't want to see anyone else getting hurt because of that bastard."

With that, before Mark could even say anything to the man, they left leaving him alone there thinking of what just transpired here.

When the snake eye guy came out of the city hall, he punched the wall very hard, his teeth were gritted tight and there was a fury in his eyes while they twitched.

"How dare he get better class than me? Not fair, it's not FAIR, right guys?" He asked with fury to the other two who just nodded in unison.

"Don't worry, we will get back at him soon. Just like always."

Lucas at this point had already reached the workshop's entrance.

Mary saw Lucas enter the workshop and ran to greet him. She without any previous notice held his hands and smiled.

"Lucas, you're back! I'm so glad you came back!! I was worried you wouldn't." She said, sounding relieved and happy.

Lucas was surprised by her sudden approach. He gently pushed her away and smiled back.

'The fuck? Was she always so touchy??'
