Chapter 9: EVEN GODS BLEED

_________

Ken was gone. Death Bringer's instincts were buzzing as if alerting him of danger. Fixing his vision, he saw Ken running in circles around him; he was fast but still not fast enough to be unseen by the human eye.

Death Bringer aimed at Ken and launched an attack, only for it to miss due to the speed Ken was moving at. Stretching his arms for another attack, he missed again, but as he was about to bring back his arms to their normal form, Ken quickly turned direction and grabbed onto them, launching him back at Death Bringer's direction out of their assist.

Death Bringer, seeing Ken on his now shrinking arms, was stunned; he moved them to the side at incredible speeds, causing Ken to fall off them to the side as he was dragged by his feet, balancing himself and standing up in quick motion.

He then quickly took a stance he had never taken before. This quickly surprised Death Bringer because Ken's new stance seemed as if Ken was proficient in it, as if he had gained some type of experience.

Two minutes ago, Ken seemed to be fighting like a beginner martial artist, but now it seemed like he had become an intermediate level. Unknown to Death Bringer, this was simply because Ken's template fusion had increased by a warping 13%, making the total percentage 16%. This was one of the reasons Ken was laughing earlier; he didn't fully understand how template fusion worked, but after it increased in percentage, new combat techniques and skills were implanted into his brain instantly, as if he had done them for over decades.

His cursed energy reserves had risen by a litre, and his speed and strength had drastically improved while using cursed energy to cover his body, hence why he seemed to be faster; this was simply because he was. Ken then dashed at Death Bringer with impactful speeds, but Death Bringer didn't seem fazed or frightened. This was a man who had killed hundreds; how could he be afraid of a child? He then attacked the child that was dashing towards him, but Ken, as if he were a skilled boxer, moved his head to the side while still maintaining speed. "I understand," he said, as he grabbed onto the arm once again, making Death Bringer move his momentum once more, trying to launch Ken to the side, only for him to realize that Ken was gone.

Turning his gaze to the side, he saw a scissor moving towards him at incredible speeds. Then, Death Bringer's arms instantly went back to normal as he hardened his skin, causing the scissor to bounce off it. "I understand," Ken continued; he was now behind Death Bringer, close to his shoulder. Death Bringer smiled in response and launched a quick attack from behind while turning his body to increase its speed, expending his hands in the process as they ripped through the wind in the direction of Ken. Ken only dodged downward, resulting in the hand missing him by two feet, but then, Death Bringer felt a slight pain in his chest; it seemed that for the first time a scissor had stabbed him mysteriously, causing his chest to release overflowing blood.

The crowd that was watching stopped their ongoing pursuit of noises and looked in disbelief. The only question they were asking themselves was one: 'Was Death Bringer losing?' Which was understandable, for ever since they had seen Death Bringer fight, he had never lost, not even once; they had never even seen him bleed, but yet, the man who seemed seemingly indestructible bled. "Even gods bleed," Ken said as if knowing what the crowd had in their thoughts, as he dashed once again without stop.

Death Bringer realized that Ken had already grasped the applications of his ability; he concluded that now would be a good time to only focus on defense, and then he smiled as he looked back. It seemed his instincts were right; it seemed that Ken had tricked him by running towards him, and the real attack was coming from behind.

The scissor that was flying behind him , once again bounced off him effortlessly, but as he turned back to look at the once running Ken, he was already too close , launching an attack at an area most would see as taboo or disgraceful; he was trying to stab the testicles, and before Death Bringer could prevent the attack from happening, the sharp blade of the scissors had already arrived, stabbing his productive balls. Death Bringer kneeled down in pain, yet Ken did not stop; for as the blades were inside of the thin sheet of skin, he swiped them, cutting off the testicles completely.

Even the male audience could feel the man's pain, but Ken once again stabbed at the same spot once more, stabbing the underground opening he had now just made. Death Bringer was in too much pain to launch an attack or try to struggle; he could only scream in terror. Ken, taking his hand and putting it inside Death Bringer's mouth, pulled down the lower jaw, and with his other hand, took out a scissor that was once stabbed into Death Bringer's chest, positioning it in a stabbing position, and stabbed at Death Bringer's left opened eye in the process with strong force, twisting the blades to make a hole in the eye, and then leaving the scissor still embedded inside. And on the left pocket of his coat, he quickly took out another scissor and stabbed it into Death Bringer's right eye, completely blinding him in the process.

Lifting his feet and stamping both of them at him, he launched himself backward and made some distance. Standing up, he now watched as Death Bringer cried in pain. Ken had created four large holes on the man's body, three of which were in the man's weak points. The once fat, indestructible man was now crying like a newly born baby.

Ken, looking at his now bloodied hands , knew that this wasn't over, for this was the Gauntlet, a place without escape; the only way to walk out of a battle was if you win or you die, and Ken had already done enough work to ensure the fat man in front of him would die. Looking at his hands which were full of blood, Ken simply took a finger, and with the blood that was on it, he drew a smile over the mask he was wearing, looking at the crowd with the side of his face. Everyone could see him, his beautiful figure, one that some might mistake to be like that of an angel, but those dark red eyes, they spoke words of difference. Standing there facing them, they did not blink, nor did they move, nor slumber; they were just.
