Chapter 105: Chapter 105 - Ryuu’s Killing Intent

At the same time, elsewhere—
The Water Labyrinth.
Lower Dungeon, 27th Floor.
In the depths of the maze, inside a massive chamber twenty meters high and eighty meters wide…
"—The once distant forest canopy, infinite stars etched in the eternal night sky…"
With a beautiful voice, the chant flowed like poetry from her lips.
An overwhelming magical power surged rapidly.
"—Heed the voice of this ignorant one, and once more bestow upon me the blessing of stardust."
Violent power surged around her in torrents.
"—Grant mercy and light to the one who has forsaken you."
The clear and dignified voice quickened in tempo.
"—Come, wandering wind, lost traveler."
Her spirit was refined to the extreme, and poured relentlessly into the magical core.
"—Fly across the skies, race through the wilds, surpassing all with your speed."
In mere moments—
The violent magic reached its critical point.
"—Harness the radiance of countless stars to purge the enemy."
Just before release, she gathered the energy into countless green orbs of light.
"[Luminous Wind]!"
As the chant ended, a barrage of wind-charged, starlight-infused magic launched into the air.
Dozens of glowing orbs—radiating starlight and swirling green winds—soared across the chamber toward their targets.
A moment later—
BOOM!
Explosions roared like waves crashing against the world.
Blinding light filled the entire crystal chamber.
When it finally faded—
Several dwarves and beastmen lay scattered across the floor, blown to bits, their bodies unrecognizable.
They were unmistakably, and utterly, dead.
In the aftermath—
Only one remained: a trembling cat person, thrown by the blast and staring in horror.
"Jarrah…"
"There's nowhere left for you to run."
A slender elven woman in a green cloak, holding a wooden sword, approached like a wrathful ghost.
Her deep blue eyes locked onto the man with no escape.
She radiated an unmistakable killing intent.
With each step, her blood-soaked blade hissed against the stone floor, her boots crunching debris.
"Jarrah, my one mistake was not ensuring your death back then."
"I didn't confirm it."
"Arrogantly assumed I had killed you, and I regret that more than anything."
Her cold, merciless words echoed as she closed in.
"I should've killed you then."
"But that mistake—ends now."
"You and your twisted schemes, I'll settle it all here."
Her eyes were lifeless, her expression that of a vengeful spirit.
The cat person trembled, taking step after step backward.
"N-No…"
Cornered against a crystal wall, the mutilated cat man whimpered.
"D-Don't push me too far, Ryuu!"
Terrified beyond reason, he finally broke down, screaming wildly.
Jarrah Halmar—a former beast tamer of the dark faction Rudra Familia.
Level 3. Nicknamed Slave Cat.
Five years ago—
[Gale] Ryuu Lion, in a fit of blood-soaked rage, destroyed their entire base.
She slaughtered every member.
Except him.
Jarrah alone had managed to survive by a stroke of luck.
"Die, Jarrah."
[Gale] charged, her bloodstained wooden sword raised, eyes ablaze with fury.
"Kukuku… ahahahaha!"
Jarrah suddenly burst into manic laughter.
"You bitch from the Astraea Familia, did you think I was some helpless kitten?!"
As he roared—
Jarrah pulled out a whip and cracked it violently against the floor.
A split second later—
A giant serpent burst from the ceiling, crashing down toward [Gale].
Its massive frame rivaled that of a floor boss like Goliath.
"Lambton?!"
At the last moment—
[Gale] dodged sideways, narrowly avoiding the monster's crushing strike.
Lambton—a rare species from the 37th floor.
Also known as the Omen Serpent, with potential equivalent to Level 4.
It could burrow through solid rock, ignoring floor boundaries entirely.
However, it would never appear below its natural habitat—
Because the lower the floor, the more dangerous the monsters.
Descending lower would be suicide.
Hence, Lambton often appeared in lower—but not deeper—floors, catching elite adventurers off guard and wiping out entire parties.
"Lambton, tear that cursed woman apart!"
Jarrah cracked his whip again.
The massive serpent, fitted with magic tools, growled low and deep.
With fangs bared, it lunged straight at [Gale].
If she were caught, the fight would be over.
Because Lambton, the Omen Serpent, would drag its prey underground—
Pulverizing them between its coils and the bedrock.
But [Gale] Ryuu Lion stood her ground, unfazed, ready to face it head-on.
Meanwhile, on the 25th floor—
"Huff… huff…"
A group of adventurers sprinted through the maze, led by a werewolf.
Monsters pursued them relentlessly.
They scattered firestones from their packs all along the route.
They didn't even look back at the monsters.
Whoever fell behind—
Would be the "lucky one" the monsters caught.
"I-I can't go on, Tuck—help me!"
"…Tch."
A wheezing human stumbled—and was immediately skewered by a mermaid's trident.
Tuck, the Level 2 werewolf, ignored the screams behind him.
After [Rampager] Dix was wiped out a few days ago, no one hunted monsters anymore.
That forced Slave Cat Jarrah to act sooner than planned.
Unfortunately…
They'd run into [Gale] Ryuu Lion earlier that morning.
And now—
They were being hunted like animals.
Among the dark-faction remnants—
[Gale], the killer spirit of Astraea Familia, haunted them like a living nightmare.
No one hated her more than they did.
Killing [Gale] Ryuu Lion—that was their greatest goal.
"Move it, hustle! Get it done fast!"
"Lord Jarrah is risking his life to stall her!"
"Damn that Astraea whore—she dies today!"
"Yes!"
The squad quickly emptied all their firestones, then dove into hiding around a chamber corner.
Tuck drew a magic sword.
Without hesitation, he slashed it toward the firestone trail.
A burst of high-temperature flame erupted.
BOOM!
Explosions thundered through the labyrinth, one after another.
The repeating blasts shattered tunnels, reduced everything to rubble.
The monsters chasing them were engulfed in fire.
The floor cracked, the ceiling collapsed.
Crystals shattered—floodwaters spilled everywhere.
The noise reached all the way to the 27th floor.
—
At the same time—
On the 24th floor, Raven suddenly sensed the massive disturbance below.
"What the hell?"
"An earthquake in the lower floors?"
