Mummy Evolution

Chapter 128: Monkey

Once again, Egrith became immensely angry deep down.

After gaining the entire Territory of Kemet as his own power, he had become incredibly strong. His Axiom had used that Territory to evolve again and again. He had gained strength, but he still felt empty in his soul.

He was supposed to be the one who had it all, but Sett seemed to have all that he could never have with effortless ease.

I will kill him after I use him to escape this Tomb.

Full of anger, he said calmly: "Make the monkey leave this instant or I will be throwing its corpse out instead."

The Monkey King did not even budge at the threat.

It had long since stopped crying.

It just asked, "What should we do with them, Sett?"

Sett smiled. "Obviously, we will kill them. You are ready, right?"

He had been stalling for time for the Monkey's skills to kick in. And now, it was time.

"I have been ready since the day I was born."

Egrith's face changed. He tried to immediately move, but suddenly—he found himself completely incapable of movement. What?!

WHY CAN'T I MOVE?

Even Faceless had grown rigid.

Divine Blessing—Body Manipulation!

The Monkey King smiled. "The more you inhale my scent, the more control I have over your bodies. Sadly, you two seem to have exceptional sense of smell."

It had been stinky for a while as well.

But Sett wanted to smack the monkey over the head.

Why was it explaining its own power?

Wasn't that the reason it lost in the fight against Sett himself?

But the next moment, he moved into action.

Shining Gold appeared out of nowhere and threw a shining blade into Sett's hand. He gripped it tight and moved towards Egrith with immense speed.

"No you don't!" Egrith roared inwardly.

But it was useless.

Axiom Ability—Dimensional Shift.

His body warped and appeared in a different side.

His gaze locked down on Sett as he shifted on his foot and ran at Egrith.

Egrith readied himself to teleport away again. He still could not control his own body. But he could keep escaping!

Yet, just as he prepared to move—he stopped in place.

A silent sword had pierced his heart from his back.

He rigidly turned around.

It was an invisible creature.

Silver.

In that time, Sett appeared in front of him. "Ancestor, say my regards to our dead kin."

His sword struck stright into Egrith's head, then pierced the brain and came right through.

This blade was Gold's Axiom, it could pierce through diamond like silk!

"Did you think that Axioms made you invincible?"

As long as Sett did not allow him a chance to enter his True Form, what could Egrith do?

Egrith's limp body fell weakly onto the floor.

Blood pooled under his head.

He was dead.

As simple as that.

Sett confirmed the death with a single glance.

But just as that happened, Sett distanced himself with caution.

Egrith's body cracked apart into glass-like pieces.

From the side, the unmoving Faceless suddenly began cackling. "You killed him. Good. Good. Good! Lord Guardian has been worried about how to kill him since so long. He is too much of a cockroach! Hahahah! Now, give his Axiom to me!"

Sett immediately became wary. "What are you?"

Who was this woman?

Sett had just assumed she was just a Tier 4 normal Crypt Walker.

But now, it did not seem like that.

Faceless began walking.

As he walked, his appearance shifted to look more and more like Egrith, when he reached the place where Egrith died, he looked completely like Egrith.

The Monkey King shouted: "I can't control him!"

"Your ability to control the body is pretty powerful, but I am a creature that does not need to breathe. As long as the smell is removed, you are just a weak monkey."

"Now. Now. The feeling of power is absolutely wonderful!" Faceless laughed. "What a special face and body I have inherited. Lord Guardian truly has created the perfect vessel for me."

Long ago, the Lord Guardian of this Tomb had received a child from an unknown place.

The child, a mere infant at the time, had terrified the Tier 5 Guardian.

Why?

Because he was the child between a God and a man.

A person with an Axiom.

That child was Egrith.

Not knowing how to raise a human child, the Lord Guardian took him to the Royal Family of humans—Kemet—and replaced him with the child of the Emperor.

When the Guardian left, he also sealed the Axiom of Dimension inside Egrith's body. That made it impossible to use the Axiom.

The Guardian had always planned to wait for Egrith's death. After all, once Egrith died—he could use Faceless to inherit all of Egrith's power.

Why?

Because Faceless had the power to inherit one person's entire existence as its own. That was the ability of the Core inside its body.

It could choose to completely become Egrith.

It was a one-time ability and Egrith was the perfect face.

And once Faceless became Egrith, the Guardian would gain a completely loyal subordinate with the strength of a god's child.

After all, Faceless was completely loyal.

But at the same time, the Guardian was afraid of killing Egrith.

What if he angered the god behind Egrith?

Thus, he had planned to let Egrith live as a spoiled prince until the boy grew old and died.

The Lord Guardian had enough lifespan to spare.

That was why the Kemet capital city was never attacked by the Guardian or its subordinates.

All that time, it had been waiting for Egrith's death.

But recently, deep emotions and sadness had awakened the Axiom inside Egrith's soul. It had broken its seal.

And that had made Egrith gain all the Territory that was his birthright—given to him by his parent god—become his own all over again.

That made Egrith someone strong enough to escape even from the Guardian.

But now, it was all over…

Faceless had also been waiting.

And now, he was Egrith.

He was no longer Faceless.

He looked at his own hand.

"What a powerful Axiom!"

It said in glee.

"Now, shall I crush you all?"

"Egrith" began cackling as if he had gone mad.

A voice calmly spoke from nowhere: "Faceless, now that you are ready. Kill the outsiders and return."

"Lord Guardian, call me Egrith. I am the son of a god now~"

"Yes, Egrith. Kill the outsiders."

"Sure but I need time to absorb the Territory from Egrith~"

"You don't need Egrith's power to kill these people. Faceless, just use your own."

"Kekkekeke, that is true."

Faceless laughed.

Sett felt a drop of cold sweat drip down his forehead. What kind of creature is this?
