Naruto : Ninja school teacher, I can become stronger by teaching

Chapter 34: Did You Add Mushrooms to This Food?

"Minato, do you smell something?" Kushina, who was about to cook, suddenly caught a wonderfully enticing aroma.

"I do, a very tempting fried scent," Minato nodded.

"Right? Such an alluring smell, how is it made?" Kushina sniffed the air, her curiosity piqued.

She also cooked, and had made fried foods like tempura before, but had never produced such an enticing aroma. Just smelling it, she could already imagine the perfect golden and crispy appearance of the food.

"No, I have to go see," Kushina said, walking out.

She carefully sniffed the air, realizing the aroma came from the house to the right of Minato's.

"Eh, isn't this Hanyu's house? Minato, come out quickly!" Kushina waved to Minato inside the house.

If she remembered correctly, this house belonged to that ninja academy teacher, Hanyu Muyue.

Although they had only known each other for a few days, Muyue had left quite a deep impression on Kushina.

He had similar golden hair and blue eyes to Minato, was articulate, and had strong teaching abilities.

Minato walked out, looked at where Kushina was pointing, and nodded, saying, "Yes, it's Hanyu's house."

"Come on, let's go visit our neighbor," Kushina pulled Minato along and knocked on Muyue's door.

Muyue placed the shrimp he had picked up into a bowl, then put down his chopsticks, walked to the door, and opened the wooden door.

As soon as the door opened, Kushina eagerly asked, "Hanyu, are you making dinner?"

"I'm sorry to bother you," Minato said apologetically, looking at the apron still on Muyue.

"It's fine, I've already finished. I was just about to eat, you've come at a good time," Muyue said with a gentle smile, then invited them inside.

Kushina followed the scent directly to the dining table. Seeing the lightly golden fried tempura on the plate, her eyes instantly lit up; this was the smell.

However, after entering Muyue's home, Kushina also noticed the aroma of fried rice.

"Hanyu, you're a hidden master chef! I could smell the tempura from next door," Kushina praised.

"Not really a master chef. I just got used to cooking since I'm often alone," Muyue said, taking out two water glasses from the cabinet and pouring a glass for Minato and Kushina.

"You can try some, I just finished making them," Muyue said, taking out two sets of tableware.

"Can we? I see you haven't even eaten yet," Kushina said, staring at the tempura.

She really wanted to try what such fragrant tempura tasted like.

"I'm eating now," Muyue said with a smile, picking up a piece of tempura from the bowl and putting it into his mouth.

"Thank you, Hanyu," Minato said.

"Let's eat!" Kushina clasped her hands together, saying with great ceremony, then picked up her chopsticks and took a steaming hot piece of tempura into her mouth.

"Mmm!" As she bit through the crispy outer layer, the incredibly soft and juicy shrimp inside instantly made Kushina's eyes widen.

Something even more magical happened. Kushina, in a trance, felt as if she had entered the ocean, surrounded by a mysterious and magnificent blue world, and she was a carefree fish, joyfully swimming in the sea all day.

"Huh?" Kushina quickly snapped out of it, almost thinking she had just been caught in a genjutsu.

Then, after thinking about it carefully, there was no one present who could cast genjutsu on her.

"Muyue, how did you make this tempura? You didn't add any weird-colored mushrooms, did you?" Kushina asked, puzzled.

She had heard of ninjas who picked and ate mushrooms in the forest during summer, and then claimed in Konoha Hospital that they had too many branches and leaves on them and needed someone to prune them.

"Uh, no, it's just this way and that way..." Muyue briefly explained his cooking process.

Just then, Kushina noticed that Minato seemed to have taken one bite of the fried rice and hadn't said much. She looked at Minato and found him spaced out, so she patted him.

"Minato, what's wrong?" Kushina asked.

Minato instinctively replied, "Eating wild vegetables."

"Where are there any wild vegetables here?" Kushina looked at the fried rice. Besides eggs, there was only chopped green onion, no mushrooms, so she asked, puzzled.

"Just after eating the fried rice, I felt like I turned into a wild pheasant living in the mountains..." Minato explained.

Kushina looked at the fried rice on the plate, each grain full and golden, as if emitting a golden glow.

Because she had been focused on the tempura, Kushina only now noticed that the fried rice seemed to be glowing!

"This is the best fried rice I've ever eaten," Minato said, unable to resist scooping two more spoonfuls into his mouth.

"Is it really that good? You should try the tempura," Kushina said, still puzzled.

Then Kushina ate the egg fried rice, and Minato ate the tempura.

Both their faces once again showed expressions of shock and bliss.

"Hanyu, did you develop a ninjutsu that makes food taste good? This is too delicious!" Kushina joked.

"If you ever think about opening a restaurant, Hanyu, please let me know," Minato said seriously.

He wasn't someone who focused on material pleasures, but Muyue's fried rice and tempura gave him an experience he had never had before.

"If you like it, you can come over more often. It's quite quiet here," Muyue invited with a smile.

"As long as you don't mind the trouble. You can also try Minato's and my cooking sometime, though it's not as delicious as yours," Kushina said, somewhat excited by Muyue's invitation.

"Then I'm quite looking forward to it," Muyue replied with a smile.

After seeing them off, Muyue mused that his new skill was indeed powerful; it quickly led to mutual dinner invitations.

Muyue brought down some books from his upstairs bedroom; he could gradually show his interests.

...

Encouraged by Muyue, and with his friend Asuma setting an example, Obito was full of motivation. By Saturday, he was close to completing his control training and would soon begin nature transformation training.

When the weekend arrived, it was time for Muyue, the home tutor, to work again.

"You liar!" Asuma angrily accused Muyue.

Last week, to not waste the expensive tuition fees, he had trained desperately, collapsing from exhaustion when he got home.

The more effort and pain he put into his training, the more he resented Muyue after learning the truth.

"Oh, what did I lie to you about?" Muyue asked with a smile.

"Your tutoring fee is clearly two thousand ryo an hour, but you lied and said it was twenty-five thousand ryo!" Seeing Muyue not admit it, Asuma got even angrier.

"Then what did you lose? Did you really give me twenty-five thousand ryo?" Muyue continued to ask.

"Of course, I..." Asuma wanted to say something, but suddenly realized he hadn't lost anything.

"See, you lost nothing, and even gained. You thought you spent two hundred thousand ryo, but in reality, you only spent sixteen thousand ryo, earning one hundred and eighty-four thousand ryo. You should thank me," Muyue quickly said.

"I gained?" Asuma thought about it along Muyue's line of reasoning and it did seem like he had gained.

"Then there's no problem, let's begin training," Muyue said leisurely.

"No, something is very, very wrong," Asuma felt that something was amiss.
