Evan was very satisfied.

Even if his Pokémon weren't present, they could still exhibit impressive strength when fighting independently. It seemed that Gardevoir's training had been incredibly effective.

After handling everything, Evan, Isla, and the others continued on their journey. When they reached the highway, they waited for over half an hour before a shuttle bus finally arrived. It was the last bus of the day.

Buses didn't operate on these roads at night; the risk of Pokémon attacks made it too dangerous. Early in the evening, the shuttle bus service ceased, ensuring the drivers could return safely to the city. The driver on this route, working from nine to five, had a routine many would envy.

Upon arriving at the orphanage, Evan, Isla, and the others disembarked and began walking back. Before they even reached the breeding house, several children spotted Evan from a distance.

"Evan Brother is back!" one of them shouted.

"Brother Evan!!" echoed another voice.

Hearing the excited calls, Evan quickened his pace. Once he reached the children, he affectionately ruffled their hair and asked gently, "Did anything happen today? Are the Pokémon in the nursery causing trouble?"

The little girl whose hair was being ruffled replied in a sweet, innocent voice, "Nope! They've been very good. But we had visitors today. Since you weren't here, I asked them to come back tomorrow."

Evan nodded approvingly. "Well done. Let's go see Aunt Jenn first. I have a few things to take care of."

After checking in with the children, Evan headed toward the breeding house without overthinking. The kids trailed behind him eagerly. They didn't bother going to Aunt Jenn, as she was busy cooking in the kitchen. It seemed much more exciting to follow Evan into the breeding house.

Meanwhile, other children were busy moving energy cubes to the nursery. Being too small to help with heavy tasks, this group had waited at the orphanage for Evan's return. Now, their curiosity was piqued, knowing that Evan had gone out to capture Pokémon earlier that day.

"Brother Evan, what Pokémon did you catch?" one of the kids asked eagerly.

"You'll see soon enough," Evan replied with a warm smile. "Now come along."

With that, he led them into the breeding house, and the children hurried after him, their excitement bubbling over.

When Evan reached the backyard, he set down his backpack and carefully retrieved the Poké Balls inside. Seeing the sheer number of Poké Balls, the children around him, especially the little girls, were stunned.

"So many!" one of them exclaimed.

"Brother Evan, did you catch that many Pokémon?" Their eyes sparkled with awe.

Evan chuckled softly before proceeding to open the Poké Balls one by one, releasing the Pokémon they contained.

As the first Pokémon appeared, the other children in the orphanage noticed the commotion and rushed over. When they arrived and saw the array of Pokémon, their jaws dropped.

"Bellossom, Exeggutor, Exeggcute, Sunkern, Oddish, and even a Machamp?"

"Is that a Bounsweet from another region? And a Lurantis too?"

"Wait, no way! That's a Shiny Lurantis!" another child cried out, pointing with excitement.

"Brother Evan caught a Shiny Pokémon again?" The group erupted in cheers, their faces lighting up with excitement.

As Isla and the others watched the scene unfold, they couldn't help but laugh. To add to the fun, Isla released her own Pokémon.

"Roselia, Scyther, Mime Jr., and Meowth!" she called out, as the Pokémon appeared in bursts of light.

"Sister Isla, are these all your Pokémon?" one of the children gasped in admiration. "They're amazing!"

The backyard was suddenly bustling with energy. Pokémon of all kinds mingled, and the children's enthusiasm was boundless—it was as if they had just been gifted their dream toys. Their delight didn't show any signs of stopping.

The Pokémon, meanwhile, looked around curiously, taking in their new surroundings. Evan released his Gardevoir and the others. Almost immediately, Pidgeot soared skyward and flew off toward the back mountain. Evan didn't pay it much mind; he was used to Pidgeot's habit of patrolling the area whenever it was free.

Addressing the rest of the newly released Pokémon, Evan spoke clearly. "From now on, this will be your home," he began. "This backyard, along with the mountain behind it, is my territory. These are places where you can move freely."

The Pokémon tilted their heads slightly, trying to take in everything Evan was saying.

"You'll be helping out at the orchard most of the time," he continued. "That's where you'll stay busy during the day. At night, you'll come back here to rest. As for food, it's stored in the warehouse over there." Evan gestured toward a nearby building. "Gardevoir will show you where everything is. Energy cubes will be provided every day, so you'll never go hungry. Got it?"

The Pokémon responded with nods, some more enthusiastic than others, as they began to understand their new lives.

Satisfied, Evan turned his attention to the special Pokémon in the group. "Mr. Mime, Machamp, you'll be helping me in the breeding house from now on," he instructed. "You won't need to work in the orchard."

He pointed to Mr. Mime. "Your job will be to help clean. Gardevoir will teach you the ropes—it's simple work, nothing too difficult."

Mr. Mime saluted cheerfully, ready to take on the task.

When Evan turned to Machamp, he continued, "Machamp, in the future, you'll be in charge of moving energy cubes and other supplies in the breeding house. You'll also handle moving items in the warehouse."

With a confident nod, Evan added, "Mr. Mime will be like the butler, and you'll be the strong man."

Though they didn't fully understand, Machamp and Mr. Mime nodded in agreement. They trusted Evan's arrangements and had no qualms about following his instructions.

Evan then gestured toward the children from the orphanage and spoke firmly, "You are not allowed to harm these children. They're as much the owners here as you are—they're your family."

He softened his tone and added, "If you help take care of the orchard and follow the rules, I'll make sure you get the tastiest energy cubes in the future. Also, no fighting. If any conflicts arise, come to me or Gardevoir, and we'll sort it out. This is not the wilderness, so there's no need to worry about food. Everything will be provided."

Evan's words were met with attentive nods from the Pokémon. They seemed to grasp the general idea, even if some finer points escaped them. Once Evan finished, he asked Gardevoir to guide the new Pokémon to the warehouse and introduce them to the Pokémon from the back mountain. Building camaraderie was essential since they would all be working together at the breeding house.

The Pokémon from the back mountain, including Pidgey and Beedrill groups, observed the newcomers with interest. The Pidgey flock continued their patrols, ensuring no wild Pokémon intruded, while Beedrill buzzed around, inspecting and reinforcing their surroundings.

Grass-type Pokémon immediately took an interest in the Berry fields. Seeing the flourishing fruit saplings, they emitted an aura of vitality, which the plants absorbed eagerly. The saplings responded by growing faster and stronger, demonstrating the unique symbiotic bond between grass-type Pokémon and nature. This natural phenomenon explained why many Berry fields invested in raising grass-types—they brought life and growth wherever they roamed.

Satisfied with the arrangements, Evan persuaded the girls from the orphanage to head back for dinner, though they were reluctant to leave the backyard Pokémon. Only after much cajoling did they finally agree.

While Evan joined the others for dinner, Gardevoir and Gallade took charge of distributing energy cubes to the new Pokémon at the warehouse. The sight of the cubes brought excitement to the group, and they eagerly rushed forward to eat. However, Gardevoir and Gallade kept order, ensuring no scuffles broke out. The Pokémon from the back mountain watched the newcomers with curiosity, some mingling and others continuing with their tasks indifferently.

By the end of the evening, the new Pokémon began settling into their surroundings. Many chose to rest outside rather than in the dormitory Evan had mentioned, preferring the open environment. Grass-types, in particular, gravitated toward the Berry fields, where they basked in the natural energy of the area.

The next day, the breeding house was relatively quiet, with few visitors. Evan took the opportunity to tend to the orchard and patrol the grounds. Everything seemed in perfect harmony, with the Pokémon, both wild and domesticated, getting along well.

After his rounds, Evan returned to the breeding house to teach Isla and the others how to make energy cubes. It was a good way to prepare intermediate and low-level cubes for future use. With three Scythers now assisting, there was no need to rely on Gallade for cutting fruit—it was a task the Scythers handled effortlessly.

As Evan worked, Lurantis approached.

"Lura~~!" it called out, offering its help.

Evan blinked in surprise. "You want to help?"

"Lura!" Lurantis nodded enthusiastically. It didn't want to be idle while others were busy.

Smiling, Evan said, "Alright, if you're sure. Help us with the fruit prep. Right now, I'm working on energy cubes—your special energy cubes, to be precise. For now, you'll stick to intermediate ones until you reach your limit. After that, I'll make high-level cubes just for you."

With that, Lurantis joined the efforts, eagerly lending a hand while Evan continued his meticulous planning for the breeding house's future.

Evan decided not to let Lurantis start training just yet. "Wait until you've been eating energy cubes for a while," he said. "Then we'll begin your training again."

For now, Lurantis was assigned to assist with cutting fruit, something it excelled at thanks to its sharp scythe-like arms, which were just as effective as those of a Scyther. Evan appreciated its help as they prepared the ingredients for energy cubes.

Once the energy cubes were finished, Evan handed one to Lurantis. "Here, try it," he offered.

Lurantis eagerly tasted the pure green energy cube and chirped happily, clearly enjoying its flavor. "Lura!" it cried, voicing its approval.

Seeing its delight, Evan smiled and turned to Isla and the others. "Now it's your turn," he said. "Try making them yourselves. You should remember everything I just taught you. The proportions are written down for reference."

He continued, "Making energy cubes is only part of it. You need to understand the principles behind the combinations—what each ingredient does and how they interact. Without that understanding, the ability to make them won't take you far."

Evan's goal was to teach them the deeper aspects of energy cube crafting, so they could advance as breeders. He wanted them to know not just the how, but the why of the process. Matching different berries, understanding their effects, and predicting outcomes were all crucial parts of becoming an intermediate breeder.

As he spoke, the three students nodded seriously. Isla was already at an intermediate level, so the finer details came more naturally to her. However, Daniel and Michael, the other two learners, had more ground to cover. They diligently took notes during the session, ensuring they wouldn't miss anything.

Evan encouraged them, "Alright, now make a batch yourselves. Use your notes and try to commit these formulas to memory. Once you've mastered all the intermediate formulas I've listed, we'll move on to the exam and, after that, the advanced material."

"Got it!" the trio said in unison, brimming with determination.

Evan watched as they got to work with their Pokémon, then nodded in approval and decided to leave them to their task. Waving for Lurantis to follow, he headed outside.

"Next, let's check you over," he said to Lurantis, who hurried after him eagerly.

Evan led Lurantis to the laboratory and placed it on the scanner. As the machine hummed to life, a comprehensive analysis of Lurantis's stats and attributes appeared on the monitor.

Pokémon Profile: Lurantis

Strength: Elite

Gender: Female

Type: Grass

Ability: Leaf Guard, with potential for a hidden trait.

Gene Sequence: Mutated. Genetic mutation has resulted in Shiny coloration and enhanced skill performance. Further analysis required for detailed effects.

Evan scanned the profile and leaned closer, intrigued. Lurantis's mutation had not only affected its appearance but had also improved its skill efficiency. "Enhanced skill performance?" he murmured. "Could it be faster execution of moves? Reduced charging time? Or maybe no prep time for certain attacks?"

As Evan studied the data, he noted that Lurantis had an exceptional attack stat, with slightly lower stamina and speed. "Hmm, a bit like the game stats," he mused. "Not exactly, but close enough to use as a guide."

He stroked his chin thoughtfully. "If your physical strength and speed are lacking, we can focus on building those up. For now, we'll develop you as a physical attacker, similar to Gallade."

"Lura!" Lurantis chirped, snapping Evan out of his thoughts.

He smiled at its curious expression. "Alright, you can step down now."

Lurantis jumped off the scanner and trotted over to Evan, peering at the monitor with fascination. Although it couldn't understand the data, its interest was evident.

Evan chuckled and began explaining the analysis in simple terms. "This screen shows your strengths and areas where we can improve. Right now, you're excellent in attack and technique, but we'll work on your stamina and speed next. That way, you'll be even more formidable."

Lurantis tilted its head, listening intently, even if the finer details eluded it. Evan's encouragement and clear plan seemed to put it at ease. Together, they continued discussing their strategy for growth, setting a strong foundation for Lurantis's training in the days ahead.
