"Hello."
"Can I help you with anything?"
Evan sat down directly.
When Luna saw this, she brought Evan a glass of water. Then she and Lily stood quietly aside, looking eagerly at Lurantis.
When Lurantis saw their expressions, it smiled warmly and waved at them.
The three visitors glanced at Evan, then their eyes locked onto Lurantis. Their eyes widened in amazement.
"A Shiny Lurantis?"
"This…?"
"Who is this boss in front of us? So incredible!"
They were genuinely astonished.
"Hello?" Evan gently reminded them, noticing their awestruck expressions.
Lurantis seemed to grow shy under their intense gazes, edging closer to Evan for comfort.
Hearing Evan's voice, the group snapped out of their daze.
"Sorry," one of them quickly apologized. "We were just so surprised."
"I didn't expect you to own a Shiny Lurantis, boss," the girl added. "It's so enviable."
Lurantis's elegant and radiant appearance naturally drew attention. Many trainers dreamt of owning one. Norman, for example, had traveled abroad in a futile attempt to catch a Lurantis.
But Evan? He not only had what so many desired—it was a rare Shiny variant.
Evan smiled modestly at her admiration. "It's just good luck. So, do you need any assistance, guests?"
He gestured toward a form on the table. "Here's a list of all the services our breeding house offers. Feel free to take a look."
The table was meticulously prepared by Isla, who had created a detailed list of all the services available for their guests' convenience.
Hearing Evan's words, the three visitors sat up straight and shared their purpose for visiting.
"Um, Boss Evan," the boy began. "We're here to foster our Pokémon. Could you explain the process in detail? Oh, and about the price—it doesn't seem to be listed here."
Evan nodded in understanding. "For fostering, the price is 3,000 per Pokémon per month—about 100 a day."
"Of course, food is not included," Evan explained. "If you opt to include food, we offer energy cubes tailored to your choice, with the price calculated separately."
He elaborated, "Ordinary low-level energy cubes cost 6,000 for a month. If it's for a big eater, like Snorlax, the price goes up to around 10,000. These low-level cubes primarily satisfy hunger and provide a small boost to attributes."
"For intermediate energy cubes, which are customized based on your Pokémon's attributes and body type, the cost for a month is 150,000. These provide more targeted benefits."
"The high-end cubes are priced at 1,000,000 per month, and the top-tier ones go for around 6,000,000. Both intermediate and top-level cubes are tailored specifically to the Pokémon's needs and attributes."
Hearing the pricing breakdown, the three visitors were stunned. The sheer cost, especially for the premium options, left them in awe. They couldn't help but wonder if anyone actually opted for such high-end care.
At the same time, they were deeply impressed by Evan's expertise and the capabilities of his breeding house.
After taking a moment to process, the boy spoke up, a bit embarrassed. "We'll just go with the low-level energy cubes and add the care cost. That's a total of 9,000, right?"
Evan nodded. "That's correct. It's 9,000 per month. Are you planning to foster any Pokémon here?"
He added, "By the way, we have a teleportation machine available. If needed, I can send your Pokémon back to you at any time, so you don't need to worry about logistics."
The boy's face lit up. "That's fantastic! I'll leave my Pinsir here for a month. I'll pay for the first month upfront. After I pass my exam, I'll come back to get the certificate."
He sounded genuinely excited. However, Evan's expression shifted slightly as he raised an eyebrow.
"You don't have a certificate yet?" Evan asked, his tone curious. "And it's a Pinsir? Are you one of those Bug Catcher kids?"
Evan's eyes drifted toward the two girls, who quickly stepped in to clarify.
"We have certificates!" one of them said hastily. "It's just that he hasn't passed his exam yet."
The other chimed in, "We even helped him tame his Pokémon!"
After hearing their explanation, Evan suddenly put the pieces together.
"Ah, I see now," he murmured.
Still, he couldn't help but let his thoughts wander. So, is this guy just living the dream, being supported by two childhood friends?
He sighed internally. Why don't I have friends who help me catch Pokémon like that? Unfair!
Suppressing a pang of envy, Evan chuckled to himself, though the expression didn't escape the girl who had spoken.
"Boss, I think you've misunderstood something," she said quickly, noticing his amused expression. "The three of us are childhood friends. We grew up together. His family just didn't prepare Pokémon for him, so we decided to help out."
Evan nodded knowingly. "Ah, I understand now!"
I like him, he likes her, but she likes me… Yep, that must be it.
If the trio had known what Evan was imagining, they might have protested loudly. Instead, Evan shifted his focus back to business, brushing off the unnecessary thoughts.
"Alright then," he said, addressing the two girls. "What Pokémon are you fostering? Let me calculate the cost for you."
The girls exchanged glances and pulled out their Poké Balls.
"Mine's Corsola," one said confidently.
"And mine is Psyduck," the other added.
Evan nodded thoughtfully but noticed a flicker of hesitation on the face of the girl with Corsola. She finally spoke up.
"Boss, do you have a lake here?" she asked. "Corsola—"
Before she could finish, Evan raised a hand and nodded reassuringly. "Don't worry, we've got water. If you're unsure, you're welcome to check the backyard."
He added, "While we don't have specialized ice or fire-type areas, our water-type facilities are more than adequate."
Evan had seen this scenario before. They probably couldn't care for Corsola properly at home and decided to bring it to the breeding house. He fully understood their concern.
"Feel free to take a look and let me know if you have any other questions," he said with a smile, ready to assist further.
