Chapter 467: Dungeon Conquest
The dungeon gate had become visible once I cleared out that large chunk of the World Treant's wood. The newly carved hallway was dark, and then I cast Light Magic Level 1: Lumen to lighten the area. Powered by m_vl_em_p_yr
Seeing the walls, I could see how clean the cut was. The walls were smooth, glossy, and somewhat reflective. It was like they were precisely cut by a machine instead of a spinning disk of winds.
After a short walk, the four of us finally reached the gate and stood in front of it. We looked at it and how massive those black metallic gates were. I then thrust my right hand out and placed it on the cold gate. I was probably the first human to physically touch this dungeon gate.
"So this is the dungeon gate, huh?" Aesfen muttered. "I have seen a dungeon gate once, and I can say that they are all the same."
"Oh, you have seen one before?" Raising her brow, my sister asked.
"Well, there is one a few hundred kilometers from here. I think it is still unconquered, judging from the lush vegetation around it. But we decided not to capture it due to the unknown dangers we might encounter. Moreover, it is located way too far away from our mother."
"Well, your reason is understandable. Do you want to go for it, Raphael?"
"Maybe next time. We have to take care of this one first."
"Yeah, right."
"Aesfen, Alandra." I then turned to the two tree ladies. "Do you want to open the gates?"
"If you say so, Your Highness Raphael, it will be our honor."
I had been addressing them casually because they insisted I should address them that way. I got no problem with it, by the way, so I agreed. Besides, I was now equal with their creator, so they decided to regard me as their deity as well. My sister also received the same treatment.
Once they took a bow, Aesfen and Alandra moved closer to the gates and grabbed their ring latches, respectively. In spite of the sizes and heaviness of each gate, they were physically strong enough to pull the gates with ease.
Creaking sounds then reverberated in the hallway as they slowly pulled the black metallic gates. When the gates were pried in a certain angle, Aesfen and Alandra then went to the other side of the gates to push them open even further. They stopped when the gates were only a few centimeters from hitting the wooden walls.
"So this is what the inside of a dungeon looks like."
Alandra muttered as soon as we took a glimpse of the black walls of the dungeon.
"Let's go in."
Upon my sister's words, the four of us went inside the dungeon and stepped on its stone pavement for the first time. Since we were on the first floor, all we could see was a single curly path, so there were not that many puzzles to solve.
"In order to conquer this dungeon as fast as possible," my sister said as we followed the labyrinth. "We need to pass each floor as fast as well. Raphael, can you please..."
"Alright, Sister. Let me guide you to the end of this passage in an instant. Everyone, please hold on to me."
"Okay..."
While I held my sister's hand, Aesfen and Alandra put a hand on each of my shoulders. I was about to use Warp to transport ourselves, so they needed to have physical contact with me.
Since my senses could not pass through the dungeon walls to map the floor entirely, I just sent my remote vision fast to reach the end of this labyrinth. After rendering the image of the exit in my mind, I immediately cast Warp, and the exit to the second floor was now in front of us.
We then descended to the floor below, and I repeated the process again and again. After teleporting several times, the black walls of the dungeon came to an end, for now, and then the grassy plain of the 10th floor unfolded before our eyes.
"Are dungeons supposed to look like this in spite of being underground?"
"I have been wondering of that too, Aesfen. Dungeons are truly in an entirely different dimension. They are full of mysteries, yet very fascinating. By the way, aside from this, depending on the size of the dungeon, there are also deserts, seas, and worlds of snow and fire."
"Now that's out of this world."
"Speaking of which," my sister said. "Now that we reach a Safe Floor, can you tell us how many floors this dungeon has, Raphael?"
"Wait a second."
Immediately, I scanned the entire floor. I really did not have to do this since I already knew how big this dungeon was, and my sister already knew that I knew the answer. I just went with the flow.
"From what I could observe, the first has a diameter of exactly fourteen kilometers, or a radius of seven kilometers. Every kilometer in the radius is equivalent to ten floors. Therefore, this dungeon is composed of seventy floors."
"So it is as big as the one under the Imperial Capital, huh?"
"Exactly."
This dungeon was as big as the Imperial Dungeon. It was the biggest dungeon ever discovered on the continent until the record was broken by our Raevender Dungeon.
If it was that big, then it had the potential to become as prosperous as the Imperial Capital, a global hub. But that would unlikely to happen, as we agreed not to expose the existence of the World Treant and the tree spirits.
I really did not know what we were going to do with this dungeon once we conquered it since we already had the Raevender Dungeon. Perhaps we could use this as another secret base or a place for the tree spirits to use, such as training.
"Now that we knew how big this dungeon is, the boss will be an easy one for us," my sister grinned. "Even Aesfen or Alandra could take it out on their own."
"You think so?"
"Yes," I assured them. "A Level 700 monster is no stronger than the wolf you defeated earlier after all."
"That's why we need to take out a few Domain Guardians before this day ends. Let's defeat the guardian of this floor and dive deeper into the dungeon."
At Big Sis's words, the four of us entered the Domain Guardian room of the 10th floor and effortlessly obliterated a Level 100 Mimic.
