"WaaaaaAAAHHH!!"
While I was watching over Aoi’s growth and slowly regaining my humanity through him, a sudden, overwhelming wave of anxiety surged through me—along with his loud crying.

What is it now? He’s not hungry, and his diaper’s clean…
I quickly summoned my angel’s halo to scan the area for anomalies. Soon, I detected something approaching—a clump of malice, something like a failed "phantom entity," a concept unique to this world.
Ooh… even I didn’t notice it until I used the halo. Looks like Aoi’s sensitivity is pretty impressive.

Still, I guess the idea that kids are more likely to attract ghost-like beings applies in this world too.
This one doesn't even seem fully sentient or powerful. If I can just block it from entering, there shouldn’t be a problem—but Aoi won’t feel safe with it nearby.
Since I can’t influence the outside world unless I manifest as a spiritual body, I’d need to reveal myself to Aoi’s parents again…
And doing that a second time isn’t really a great idea.
While I was stressing out over this, I suddenly felt a switch flip somewhere in my mind.

“Ohhh, there there~ What’s wrong, sweetie?”
“Waaah… huh?”
…Huh?
My body switched?
The sensation of my body in the spirit world just… disappeared.

When I checked the body I currently occupied… it was the same one I had been perceiving externally—Aoi’s body.
Wait, no—this isn’t right.
No way… THIS should never happen.

WHY THE HELL IS THIS BODY FEMALE?!
This is wrong!
Weren’t Aoi and I supposed to be sharing one body?!
Why would a spiritual switch ALSO change the gender of the physical body?!
Was this the work of that damn god?! (← Correct.)
Tch… well, whatever.
It’s not something I can do anything about right now.
I’ll just hurry up and eliminate that phantom thing while I still have access to my power.

“Aoi? What’s wrong? …Is it a diaper change?”
“Dawu!?”
CRAP!
If she changes the diaper now, she’ll definitely notice the gender switch!!
I’ve gotta act fast!

“Doh-daah! (Purify!)”
With a flash of Purification, the malformed entity was instantly obliterated.
The purified energy flowed into the body and was equally absorbed by both Aoi and me—kind of like gaining experience points.
While I was thinking about that, Aoi’s mom reached for the diaper.

No good—I've got to switch back now!
Uhh… earlier when it switched, it felt like this, and if I—c’mon, faster!
Then—once again, my sense of self shifted.

I was back in the form I had come to know well over the last 5 billion years—my angelic body.
I could feel Aoi’s sensations too, so his body must’ve returned to normal.
“Oh? Looks like your diaper’s fine. Did something scary pop out?”
“Abuu~”

Aoi’s body is back to normal.
Phew… I was seriously worried that I might’ve permanently altered his gender. Thank goodness…
But that body swap did teach me a few things.
First—when I take over control of the physical body, it becomes female.
Second—my powers are just as strong in that form as when I’m in spiritual form.
Third—when I purify malformed phantoms, I can absorb a small amount of energy from them.

If I keep absorbing that energy, it might accumulate over time and contribute to Aoi’s growth.
To ensure Aoi can someday save the world on his own, I’ll keep purifying these things whenever I find them.
 

 
…By the way, Aoi has always had a cute, androgynous face, but when the body turned female, it mixed in about half of my angelic features, making the result even more feminine-looking
