Chapter 5 - Absolute's Streaming – Episode 5
Absolute’s Streaming – Episode 5
Minseong stared at Karen for a long time, making her snap back to reality.
“Uh… To do that, I need to teach you the basics…?”
“The basics?”
Minseong turned his head away from Karen and looked at the viewers instead.
“Is this for real?”
He wasn’t really talking to Karen—he was asking the chat.
“She says I need to learn the basics. From someone weaker than me?”
His tone was full of disbelief like he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
Of course, this was all part of his plan.
—LMAO, this makes no sense
—Bro got beat to a pulp, but now he’s teaching basics?
The dude got folded like a lawn chair, and now he’s an instructor??
—This is lowkey a bug, right?
The chat was loving it. Everything was going just as Minseong intended.
He asked again, “So, I can’t move on without learning the basics?”
—Yeah, you have to learn the basics before moving on to the tutorial.
Sigh. No choice, huh?
Minseong looked back at Karen.
“All right then, show me these ‘basics.’”
Karen’s eyes shook nervously as she met Minseong’s gaze.
“…Okay.”
And as soon as she answered—
[Karen is transferring basic skills to Absolute Being.]
[You have received Horizontal Slash (Lv. 1), Vertical Slash (Lv. 1), Diagonal Slash (Lv. 1), and Front Guard (Lv. 1) from Karen.]
[You can now use skills.]
[The ‘Correction’ effect is now applied.]
A hologram popped up in front of him, and at the same time, a wooden sword materialized out of thin air.
Minseong grabbed the sword and checked the hologram.
“Horizontal Slash?”
The moment he thought about it—
Whoosh!
His body moved on its own, slashing the sword horizontally through the air.
His movements were completely out of his control.
—Yo, look at his dumbfounded face
The first time always hits differently.
—When you get a skill, you also get the ‘Correction’ effect. It boosts attack power and speed. But later, you switch to manual instead of auto. Right now, he’s still a newbie.
—Wall of text guy strikes again
The chat assumed he was just frozen in shock.
And yeah, he was surprised—because this “skill” thing was wild.
For a brief moment, just by thinking about it, he lost control of his own body.
For someone like Minseong, an Absolute Being, that was unheard of.
‘So this is really happening…’
He was back.
But that wasn’t the only reason he stood still.
No, there was something else.
That movement just now—the skill.
It was awful.
‘How… How can it be this sloppy?’
Then, a donation notification popped up.
[‘NoobDetector’ has donated 100 won.]
—Move on to the tutorial already, the real game starts now.
Right. The tutorial.
But first, Minseong had to address something.
“Wait, what’s this ‘Correction’ effect?”
[‘NoobDetector’ has donated 100 won.]
—When you get a skill, the correction effect activates. Even if you just do a similar movement, the game boosts your attack power and speed.
That is a pretty detailed answer.
Minseong nodded. “So that’s what it is…”
His eyes drifted back to Karen.
She flinched at his gaze.
He was still holding the wooden sword.
Karen had one, too.
“Hold up your sword.”
“My… sword?”
“Yeah. Hold it out straight.”
He stretched his arm forward, keeping his sword level.
Karen hesitated but mimicked his stance.
“L-Like this?”
“Yeah. Now keep it steady.”
Smack!
Before she could react, he lightly tapped her sword with his.
No skill. Just a regular hit.
“Again.”
Karen lifted her sword again.
This time, Minseong adjusted his stance.
He took a similar position to a skill—but without actually using it.
Still, his speed and power were noticeably different from before.
Smack!
“Again.”
Now, he actually activated Vertical Slash.
Smack!
This time, the hit was much stronger and faster.
‘So this is the Correction effect.’
Minseong understood immediately.
He didn’t even have to use the skill—just mimicking the motion triggered the boost.
‘Even if my form isn’t perfect, the correction effect enhances the attack power. But wait…’
A thought struck him.
‘What happens if my form is perfect? What if I use my muscles properly, too?’
The Vertical Slash he just did was just a movement.
The same motion wouldn’t yield the same power for everyone—it depended on how you used your body.
That was why Minseong thought these skills were so clumsy.
He looked at Karen again.
Without him saying anything, she raised her sword.
Minseong swung again.
But this time—
WHOOSH!
The sound alone was completely different.
And then—
CRACK!
Karen’s wooden sword snapped in half.
Minseong’s eyes narrowed.
His hunch was right.
If he applied proper muscle control to the skills, their power could be multiplied.
‘But… what was that spark?’
The moment their swords clashed, sparks had flown.
And right on cue, another donation alert popped up.
[‘NoobDetector’ has donated 100 won.]
—LMAO, the dude actually triggered a crit
‘A… crit?’
Minseong asked, “A critical hit?”
—Yeah, we just call it ‘crit.’
—Sometimes, you randomly get a crit like that early on.
—It’s all about luck and timing, lol.
—Explaining crit mechanics is too complicated, tbh.
Minseong glanced at the chat.
And he came to a conclusion.
‘They… don’t actually know how crits work, do they?’
They were treating it like pure luck. And no one could properly explain it.
This meant two things: either they genuinely didn’t understand it, or the mechanics were too complicated.
A smirk crept onto Minseong’s lips.
His past experiences—maybe they weren’t as useless as he thought.
‘Maybe…’
His past knowledge might help him go even further in this game than anyone else ever had.
“Hmm?”
He turned his head.
Karen was staring at him.
Minseong frowned in confusion.
And then—
A new hologram appeared.
[Karen now holds a deep respect for Absolute Being.]
[Karen’s affection has reached 100%.]
[Conditions for ‘Secret Quest’ creation have been met.]
There was even a little share button at the bottom.
“Huh. This just popped up.”
He shared the hologram with the viewers.
—?
—??
—What?
—The hell is that?
The chat was just as confused as he was.
Minseong focused on the important part.
“What’s a Secret Quest?”
This time, the answer didn’t come from NoobDetector.
[‘Hayeun’s #1 Fan’ has donated 100 won.]
—Secret Quests are hidden quests. No one in all of Blue Sky’s history has ever gotten one in the tutorial. This is huge!
It was his best friend, Seonghoon.
[‘NoobDetector’ has donated 100 won.]
—Damn, I was typing that too. Anyway, I’m dying to know what the quest is.
Meanwhile, the chat was going wild.
—No way this just happened.
—Is this real?!
—INSANE.
—Bro, don’t get hyped yet, he still has to clear it.
‘So if I fail, I don’t get anything, huh?’
Minseong asked, “How do I check the quest?”
—It’ll show up on its own later.
—Secret Quests only tell you they exist first. The actual quest pops up later.
“So there’s a chance it won’t?”
—Yep.
—Right now, it’s just ‘created.’ It’s not activated yet.
“And how do I activate it?”
—Uh… No idea?
—Nobody knows, man. This is the first time this has happened in the tutorial.
In short—they had no clue.
Minseong turned back to Karen.
And simply said,
“All right. Hand over the tutorial.”
—Bro talks like he owns the tutorial
—This guy is something else, lol.
—Did he just mug the tutorial?
—Who let this man cook?!
The chat was loving it.
Karen? Not so much.
She was completely thrown off.
But only for a moment.
Then, her expression became serious. Her eyes sharpened.
“Let’s go. There’s no point wasting time here.”
She had made her decision.
She was going into full respectful mode from now on.
“Follow me.”
With that, Karen turned and started walking ahead.
