Yuma and Kakashi started throwing kunais and shurikens at the waterfall shinobi who were engaged in battle against Konoha shinobi.

Pakkun was on top of the Hokage's desk; he had just delivered Kakashi's message to Hiruzen.

The Hokage's advisors were in the office, including Danzo; their faces darkened after hearing Kakashi's message.

Hiruzen took a deep breath from his pipe to calm down. He nodded to Pakkun and said to him, "Thank you for delivering Kakashi's message to us, Pakkun. You may leave now."

Pakun nodded to the Hokage.

"PUFF."

With a white cloud of smoke, Pakun disappeared.

Hamura, Koharu, and Danzo looked seriously at Hiruzen, and Koharu asked, "What should we do now, Hiruzen? Things are getting serious now; our skirmishes with Iwa could lead to all out war with Iwa, and if we go to war with Iwa, this could lead to the fourth ninja war."

Hamura and Danzo kept quiet, and the trio looked at Hiruzen seriously.

Hiruzen narrowed his eyes and continued looking at the map. He then asked Danzo, "Tell me, Danzo, what do you think the terms the Hidden Sand Village will ask from us to form an alliance?"

When Danzo heard this, he got quiet and started thinking, but Hiruzen continued, "Their terms will be quite unreasonable for us to agree with right now. We are still recovering from the losses we suffered from the Kyubi attack, the Uchiha incident, and the fourth Hokage passing."

The trio nodded in agreement when they heard this, and Hiruzen continued, "However, the Hidden Village in Grass is different; their terms will be quite good for us because Iwa and the Hidden Village of Waterfall are invading their land. They are under pressure and can't force Iwa and the Hidden Village of Waterfall to retreat by their own strength; they need assistance."

The advisors eyes lit up when they heard this, and Hiruzen continued, "Also, we will have a long-term benefit from this alliance; our knowledge in the art of poison is lacking if we are compared to the Hidden Sand Village, so one of our conditions to form an alliance with them is they need to share their knowledge in the art of poison with us."

Danzo and the other advisors nodded their heads in satisfaction, then Hiruzen started writing down a letter to the leader of the Hidden Village in Grass and the alliance's conditions with Konoha.

Hiruzens and his advisors discussed the conditions for quite some time before all four of them agreed.

Koharu then looked at Hiruzen and asked, "So who are you going to send as an envoy, Hiruzen?"

Hiruzen smiled when he heard the question, and he answered his advisors, "I have the perfect team in mind. Asuma will be perfect for this mission; he was one of the 12 guardian shinobi. He learned a lot about politics when he used to guard the fire Damyo."

His advisors nodded in agreement, and Hiruzen continued, "For his teammates, I think Chunin Kuranai Yuhi, Shiko Aburame, and Anko will do."

The Third Hokage flared his chakra, and the ANBU squad appeared kneeling in front of him. Hiruzen then said to the ANBU, "Go summon Jounin Asuma Sarutobi and Chunin Kuranai Yuhi, Shiko Aburame, and Anko Matarashi."

After hearing Hiruzen order, the ANBU disappeared from their spot and went to summon Asuma, Anko, Kuranai, and Shiko

"ENTER."

Asuma, Anko, Kurenai, and Shiko entered the Hokage office; they noticed the Hokage advisors were in the office.

They bowed to the third Hokage and his advisors when they entered the office.

Hiruzen smiled when he saw Asuma and the others; he then said to them with a smile on his face, "Good that you four came quickly; I have an important mission for you. The rank of this mission is an A-rank because the success of this mission will determine the result of our skirmishes with Iwa on our border."

Asuma, Anko, Kurenai, and Shiko looked seriously at the Hokage after hearing this and when Hiruzen saw that they were paying close attention to him, he continued, "we received a message from Kakashi just now The backup team we sent was ambushed by the hidden village of Waterfall shinobi, and according to Kakashi, Iwa and the hidden village of Waterfall had formed an alliance. Things are going to be difficult for us from now on in the border, so we need to form our own alliance in order to fight Iwa and the Hidden Village of Waterfall."

Asuma nodded with a smile on his face and said to Hiruzen, "As you wish, Hokage-sama."

Asuma and his team then turned around and left the Hokage office.
