Chapter 3: BLOOD ( Chap 3)
The trees shook as heavy winds blew, the rain and bagan falling for the second time but it was heavier this time around.
Deep within the forest of bloodvile Inside a small cave, Vlad stood before the coffin, if he were a human his heart would have been beating loudly in his chest.
" I still think this is a bad idea," Theodore said, shaking his head.
He had tried convincing his friend over the past few days but it all fell on deaf ears.He had been surprised when vald told him about the blood coffin. Theodore couldn't believe such a thing existed.
Louis held a clay pot in his hands as he sprinkled a black substance on the coffin. " This would prevent you from dying," he said, referring to the black substance.
Vladimir nodded his head. He had read the book Louis gave him. He would fall into a deep sleep once the coffin is closed and would wake up after a hundred years as a complete human. The coffin would open on its own after the hundred years is complete and must not be touched or opened by a human if not his efforts might be fruitless.
" I am sure there might be a consequence for opening the coffin beforehand, I mean things like this must have a repercussion if not strictly followed, the devil doesn't grant wishes for free"Theodore stated.
" there might be but it wasn't stated in the book" Louis commented
" I think sleeping in a coffin for a hundred years is punishment enough," Vlad added.
Theodore shook his head " I believe there is more to this." Vlad ignored his words and stepped into the coffin, his head turned to his friend throwing him a silver cross, " look at this whenever you miss me." He joked Theodore rolled his eyes as he caught the cross "take care of my mansion theo".
Vampires were sketchy creatures and could not be easily trusted, but Theodore was someone he had come to trust, he believed he was the right vampire to handle his properties before he returned. He had handed over everything to Theodore a few days back.
" Any last words?" Louis asked Theodore as he prepared to close the coffin. Theodore stepped forward, he looked at his friend who had already closed his eyes like a dead man. " I am still not in support of this, I would visit you from time to time and I hope you return safely, I would be waiting for you. Maybe I would be the first to taste your human blood" he humored
" See you in a hundred years from now" Vlad said smiling with his eyes closed as Louis closed the wooden coffin.
.........…
A black Ferrari pulled up in front of a club, people especially the ladies who could be seen walking around half naked. Theodore stepped out of his car, his blonde hair was styled in a single side part. He wore a button down shirt with a few of the buttons undone exposing his bare chest. He strolled into the bustling club, his ears twitching at the loud music. He made his way to the bar where he settled on a stool.
" Hey Theodore, I haven't seen you around lately," the bartender asked, polishing a glass with a white cloth.
" Had business to take care of," he replied. A hundred years had passed since his friend entered the coffin, a month from now would make it officially hundred years. He had been managing his mansion and wine company which had now expanded, opening different branches all over the world. Theodore had merged his small business with Vladimir's wine company which had paid off.
" The usual?" the bartender asked, Theodore nodded " yeah you know it."
The bartender gave him a warm smile as she expertly mixed his drinks.
A woman approached him," Hello handsome" . Her voice was delicate. She wore a short black dress that barely reached her thigh. Theodore took a quick glance at her before taking a sip from his drink.
He had watched the world evolve more and more over the last hundred years, and one thing was certain;women who were shy and naive with men were now bolder and more forward with their interactions with men. Back in his day such audacity would have been considered immoral.
The old social norms had given way to a more liberated and confident society. " Hello beautiful" he gave the lady a half smile.
" Tasha" she introduced, stretching her hands for a handshake. " Theodore" he returned the gesture.
" Mind if I join you?" Tasha asked
" Feel free," Theodore replied. He was used to women flocking around him and he didn't mind using them to satisfy his needs.
The bartender came forward, pouring her a drink. She took the glass and clicked it against his before bringing it to her lips.
Theodore raised his brows,a small smile playing on his lips. " Do you come here often?" He asked, striking a conversation.
They both chatted for a while, Theodore liked her, she was bold and confident. In no time they were both in his apartment both surrendering to their desires as their clothes dropped on the floor leaving them lying naked. Theodore thrust himself into her his hips moving in and out as moans filled the room.
As they laid on the bed, Tasha's fingers trailed across his chest, " your body is a bit cold" she whispered. Over the years he had learned a few tricks from Louis including the ability to regulate his body temperature. He was able to mask the natural chill of his vampire physiology, making his body temperature seem almost human. Though the coldness never dissipated, it was no longer a revealing trait of his true nature allowing him to move more freely with humans without arousing suspicion.
" Is it?" his fingers weaving through her brown hair, he brushed his lips on her ears, his touch sending sparks of electricity through her body as she closed her eyes moaning softly.
As their passion ignited once more, Theodore's true nature began to surface, his fangs lengthened as his eyes began to turn red, his thrust became faster and harder as his hunger took over, Tasha's voice began to change from moans to that of pain as she felt like she was being torn into two.
Theodore ignored her cries as he sank his fangs into her neck, Tasha screamed in terror as she tried pushing him away tears already forming in her eyes, but Theodore's vampire strength overpowered her. She struggled and kicked but he held her firm, sucking her blood like his entire life depended on it.
In less than five minutes, she stopped screaming as her body went limp. Theodore withdrew his fangs, his breath uneven as he gazed down her body. Not hearing her heart beat, he checked her pulse.
" Shit" he cursed, running his fingers through his hair. He had killed her. He had drank enough blood before stepping out of the house to avoid a situation like this, "shit" he cursed again staring at her lifeless body, her once bright eyes now stared blankly into darkness.
