72HOURS OF CASTLE (2)

Chapter 48: The promise.

That was good for Ace, his project of dying will be perfect. He will be kill by those animals and he will do no effort to survive .

The giant jackals growled , they didn't attack immediately as if they were observing them waiting for something.

When suddenly , one of the prisoners strike an arrow on one of the jackal that even enraged it and the others. They started to attack the prisoners.

The crowd cheered taking pleasure to the scene.

One of the jackal jerk off the heads of two men and threw it, separating it from their bodies blood was splitting on the ground.

"That must have hurt" Shaka said with a smile.

Tundra defended himself, he even kill one of the jackal , he was the only one that succeeded to kill one still now.

"If you can't kill them then try atleast to defend yourself!" He yelled to the men.

"That one is not bad" said Emtse

"But alone he will not survive. If the others doesn't try to kill them because he can't kill these creatures alone" he added his hand on his cheek.

Shaka then observed Ace in the arena, he was at a side doing nothing, some jackal attacking him time on time, it was tundra that was defending him but tundra can't be everywhere at the same time.

"Brother, I think your intuition on this guy was wrong" Shaka addressed to Khir. They gazed at Ace.

"He's doing nothing as if he wanted that those animals kills him" Shaka added

"My intuition couldn't put me wrong" Khir thought.

"Ace! What are you doing defend yourself!" Tundra said to Ace.

Ace was just there, his weapon was of no use. Tundra was getting exhausted, he was every where and he really started to fatigue.

A minute Of inattention one of the jackal jumped on Ace to remove his head. It was as if time was slowing, tundra called Ace to alarmed him but he just gazed at tundra and smiled.

The governor smiled at the scene, what he desired was going to be realized. He thought that bringing Ace was giving another chance for him to survive but he was wrong. Now he was going to die in front of him.

"Finally…" he said with a Smile.

"Father when I will be big, I will be a soldier to protect Logane, you and mother from delinquents"

"Really?"

"Yes! I will be the strongest soldier of Irischester. Stronger than you and uncle Garyl" he said enthusiastically.

Those words reverberate again in Ace's head. He thought of when he was small he told this to his father, getting stronger to protect everyone.

Now he felt weak, tired of life. He didn't see the necessity of living again, his father must be very ashamed of him but he will Rest In Peace now because he's coming to meet him.

"Finally I'm going to die here" he smiled.

At the moment the jackal wanted to kill him, the image of Amber-ruby appeared in his head for 1 second.

The impact of the jackal and the ground made the dust to be everywhere.

"No… Ace" Tundra was shocked and sad.

When the dust finally dissipated, they saw the jackal growling at something, It was Ace.

The public was frenzy, they cheered to the surprise that Ace's head wasn't cut off.

"I told you. My intuition never lie to me" Khir smirked.

Tundra sighed relieved.

Ace blinked his eyes several times too, he didn't believe that he was still alive. This time it was two jackals attacking him but Ace found himself dodging them.

"What's happening?" He thought, his face full of surprise.

"Why is my body dodging alone?"

Ace kept dodging all of the jackals that was attacking him.

"I want to die! Why do I keep dodging them?"

"Why? I don't have any reason to live again. Why does my body react alone? Why do I want to survive?"

The answers to his questions was Amber-ruby. At the moment her face appeared on his mind, he thought of the promises that he did to her before she died.

"Promise me to take your revenge on him.. Don't allow him to win"

That were the words of Amber-ruby before she died. When Ace was to the point to allow the jackal to kill him , he thought of her , of the promise he did.

He thought he didn't have a reason to survive but he was false. He forgot that he make a promise to someone and he was going to realize it. The reason why he was dodging, avoiding to be kill was because he hasn't yet took his revenge against his uncle.

He will not allow his uncle to win, if he had to die he will first kill his uncle with own hands before dying himself. He will return to Irischester take what is supposed to be his, the crown and kill his uncle.

"I'm sorry Amber-ruby, I forgot the promise" he said to himself.

"Tundra! Send me the sword!" He urged to tundra

In no minute tundra send the sword to him. The sword seemed different from normal sword, it is true that it was big and very sharp but the aura of the sword was as if they was mana on it.

In a pair of seconds he cut off the head of two jackals.

Everywhere became silent, they were agaped even the Nkumkema then suddenly the public cheered again.

"I told you" Khir smirked

The three sons and thé Nkumkuma clapped in admiration.

The governor on the other side frowned his face while his wife was relieved.

Ten soldiers were killed already, they remained 10 also but almost half of them couldn't fight anymore, they were wounded.

"Those that can't fight , place yourself behind us! We will protect you people!" Ace said.

"Ace how? We can't protect and attack at the same time" Tundra told him.

"I want you guys to protect them the rest it's me that's going to do that" he said calmly.

"You are really suicidal. Those animals aren't dogs, they're not even normal jackals. You are going to die if you go alone" Tundra said with concern.

"Don't worry I'm not going to die, I did a promise" Ace smiled.
