A Clueless Genius Wolf (BL)

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Meeting with the Counil

After meeting Kyle, my friend. My life became a little bit more lively. I practiced my fighting skills, and kjeep my mind sharp. I mediate each day and study magic to improve of myself.

A week before my birthday, I became a 6th-tier circle magic user. A first to do so in my age range. Compared to my court magician, who was far older and a 9th-tier mager user. I guess I was talented in magic, which I was thankful for. I mainly focused on defensive magic, runes, space magic, and supportive magic. For example: shield magics of all kinds, barriers, negation magic, dispelling runes and spells, enhancing my strength, speed, healing, and other supportive magics. With space magic, I created a short-range teleportation, item box spell, and reverse gravity spell. Short list for that type of magic. With runes, I mainly focus on protection and warding.

Everything was smooth sailing, and I could be happier with creating new spells and enjoying time with my friend. Then came my thought of improving my Kingdom with trade. It will be another avenue for the kingdom, more jobs, and maybe allies, if the people are agreeable. It was the night before my twelfth birthday.

The sun had long since set, and the only light in the room came from enchanted crystal lanterns hovering above my desk. I sat in my solar, buried under scrolls, books, and parchment. My mind was racing.

It was time to make a move.Time to look outward. To move beyond Dusklight and engage with the world of Planetos. Into the unknown at a young age.

My kingdom was strong—industrially, magically, and socially. We had a thriving population, a stable economy, and modern infrastructure. But resources like lumber, certain rare herbs, and trade materials were limited here. More importantly, isolation was a weakness we could no longer afford. We could, but that's not living.

We needed information and maybe allies. We needed information about the outside world beyond the treasurous waters of the sunset sea.And more than anything, we needed to see what was out there and not be blind to the outside world, instead of our bubble on this side of the ocean and world.

So, I began drafting my formal proposal to present tomorrow in the daily meetings I usually have.

I went on to write in my journal: Project Horizon — The First Royal Expedition of Dusklight

The Main goals for the expedition were to establish trade routes and resource exchange, especially for lumber and other items that couldn't be found here.

Discover uncharted lands or rediscover known continents like Westeros or Essos. Which was likely.

Probably seek diplomatic opportunities and observe foreign political climates.

Gather magical and scientific data beyond our borders.

Map sea routes and hazards for future naval deployment.

Personnel needed for the expedition were A multi-disciplinary crew of sailors, diplomats, navy personnel, translators, mages, medics, and warriors.

A mix of humans and beast-kin for representation in each field to let others know we are not just one race but two.

For the royal escort team, I will be in Command.

The expedition to be led by me, King Damon Wolfstein. Which means royal guards, staff, and Kyle are coming with. Will be taking the cruise ship, while two navy vessels lead and follow for protection.

The timeline for the expedition will be launched within three months.

Duration will be Open-ended with quarterly reports through the magic mirror created by rune master, Brianna Right.

I placed my papers made by the village of dawn. where the tade was in making paper, printing books, and printing the national newspaper. I placed my papes into a golden presentation binder marked with the royal seal.

The next morning, I dressed in my formal royal attire.A tailored dark violet suit lined with silver, and an outer coat that was violet as well, that had a train. My ceremonial dagger at my side, and my crown—simple, but unmistakably regal. Kyle helped me prep, nervously adjusting my collar while I ran over my bullet points again with him.

"You got this," he said, offering a fist bump. "You're the king, after all."

I smiled. "That's the scary part."

The Ministerial Council convened in the Grand Council Chamber—an octagonal room of white marble and gold, with tall stained-glass windows casting rainbows on the floor. At the circular obsidian table sat my kingdom's most powerful minds and voices.

Minister Rowan Arclight, our Court Magician — an elder wolf beast kin, a hundred years old, draped in silver robes and runes that glowed faintly.

General Vasha Ironhide, Minister of Defense — a towering Snow Leapord Beast-kin with steel-gray hair and a sharp stare.

Octavian Vale, Minister of Foreign Affairs — human, mid-50s, soft-spoken but brilliant in strategy and diplomacy.

Minister Freya Silvergrove, Agriculture & Trade, a human female in her late 60s.

Doctor Elian Crest, Minister of Health, female human, early 40s. Doctorate in family medicine and an 8th-tier cicle magic healer. Also, a personal healer and doctor to the crown.

Professor Aldros Fenn, Minister of Education & Magic Research. A golden Labrador beast-kin.

And several others across engineering, infrastructure, and civil management.

Zackarey stood guard by my side, arms crossed behind his back. Looking strong, muscular, and powerful.

I walked to the center of the room, cleared my throat, and bowed respectfully.

"My ladies and gentlemen of the Council," I began, my voice clear, calm. "Thank you for assembling on such short notice. I come today to present a matter of utmost importance to the future of our kingdom."

With a hand gesture, I activated the presentation crystal in the center of the room. Created by rune master Brainna Right. She got a hafty money reawrd fromr the crown for her discoveries. The holographic projections of maps, ship schematics of current ships like the Royal cruise ship, the navy's current fleets, and trade estimates hovered in the air above the table.

I laid out the full proposal: Project Horizon. I covered every detail—resource scarcity, economic benefits, diplomatic outreach, and strategic risks. I answered questions from Freya about forest preservation, from Octavian about foreign response scenarios, and from Vasha about naval defense coverage during the expedition.

Then came the most critical moment.

"I propose that I, Damon Wolfstein, lead this expedition personally."

That sparked a wave of reactions.

Rowan raised a single brow. "Your Majesty… the risks beyond our waters are not insignificant. Sea beasts, unknown magic, political volatility…"

"Understandable, but we have magic users on board to protect the ship, along with army personnel on the royal cruise ship and the marines on the navy vessels with both marine divisions of warriors and magic users. Plus, my usage of high-tier defensive magic will make it somewhat safe," I said.

Vasha grunted. "If the king goes, I demand a full warship escort. And I want my best captains on that roster."

" I will agree to at least 2 destroyer vessels or 1 destroyer and one galley."

Octavian steepled his fingers. "Your presence could open doors—or make us a target. But… it would also show confidence."

'Possible," I said.

Rowan's eyes glowed faintly. "And it would fulfill the prophecy I read in the stars… 'The child of two worlds, born of silence and storm, shall walk beyond the edge of maps.'" So, that old wolf knew I was going to plan this expedition, just great.

That quieted the room.

After an intense hour of discussion and counterpoints, the council came to a decision.

Minister Octavian stood, placing a hand over his chest. "By the power of this council, we approve Project Horizon. You will lead it—with the full backing of Dusklight behind you."

One by one, the ministers nodded their agreement. I didn't realy need their agreenment, but I thought it was better to get approval, then them not go crazy about their missing King; if I vansion to explore the sea beyond.

A slow, relieved smile spread across my face.

"Thank you," I said, bowing deeply. "I promise—this will mark the beginning of a new era for Dusklight."

Outside the chamber, Kyle waited.

"So?" he asked.

I grinned. "Start packing. We're going exploring."
