Chapter 370: Chapter 286 Meeting_2

“Report to the commander, the representative of the Tribunal has arrived.”

“I’ll be right there.”

Hearing this, Commander-in-chief Hood stood up, tidied himself, and then strode out of the room.

The gate slowly opened.

Duanmu Huai stepped out from the gate and onto the corridor ahead. On both sides of the corridor, military personnel in UNSC uniforms could be seen standing. The sight of the towering dark figure caused a rush of panic among them as they scrambled to back away.

Following behind Duanmu Huai, were Ogis, Ann, Audrey, and Lorena. Duanmu Huai had only brought them along for this meeting with the senior figures of the UNSC. Ogis was Duanmu Huai’s most familiar companion, so naturally she went wherever he did. Meanwhile, Ann was a Princess of Manaria. Despite her ordinarily free-spirited and whimsical personality, as a princess, she knew how to maintain decorum in such situations.

Audrey was there as Duanmu Huai’s maid, following the group. Of course, being a former noble lady, she was also no stranger to such situations.

Lorena, however, was present as a representative of the Cathedral Church Group. She had donned her missionary priest attire specifically for this meeting.

It has to be said, the four beautiful girls along with Duanmu Huai indeed drew the crowd’s attention. On one hand, everyone could not help but be impressed by Duanmu Huai and the girls’ attractiveness. On the other hand, their unique attires and distinct temperaments also made them stand out significantly.

Leading the way ahead, Duanmu Huai wore the armor of the Tribunal. His towering stature and fearsome countenance presented a formidable sight to behold.

On the other hand, trailing behind him, Ogis was adorned in a black gothic dress, looking like a noble miss, while Ann unusually wore a sleeveless gown, having tucked away her usually playful personality. Her first impression was much like that of a princess.

Audrey and Lorena were even more distinctive, with one dressed like a maid and the other in clergy attire. Even if you didn’t know them, just a look at their clothes would serve to hint at their roles.

However… It did give a slight sense of anachronism.

“The Knight always scares people wherever he goes.”

On the surface, Ann maintained a calm and composed princess persona, but offhand, she still grumbled to Ogis beside her. The latter only responded with a small nod.

“Our master seems to pose a great threat to living beings.”

“Will both of you shut up?”

Hearing the whispering behind him, Duanmu Huai rolled his eyes, rather irritated. Had backstabbing become a group activity? Or was it a combo?

Did he even stand a chance?

Before long, the group arrived at the Cairo Space Station Hall in the planet’s outer orbit, where Duanmu Huai met UNSC Supreme Commander Hood. As a seasoned military man, Commander Hood was not too surprised when he saw Duanmu Huai. He paused only fleetingly before continuing forward as if nothing had happened, extending a smiling hand towards him.

“Nice to meet you, Your Honor, the Judge. I am UNSC Supreme Commander, Colonel Terrence Hood. Welcome to the Cairo Space Station. Here, I also wish to express gratitude on behalf of the UNSC for the Tribunal’s complete annihilation of the Star Alliance fleet, thereby defending the Proxima Star.”

“You’re too kind.”

Duanmu Huai extended his hand, giving Commander Hood a light handshake.

“As a judge, protecting humans and eliminating threats is my duty. For the Tribunal, the fate of any endangering humanity is complete destruction.”

“I understand your sentiment.”

Faced with Duanmu Huai’s statement, Commander Hood simply smiled faintly, not saying much further before he made a gesture.

“Please follow me. I believe we all need a better understanding of each other.”

“I couldn’t agree more.”

Nodding at Hood, Duanmu Huai agreed.

In fact, this was exactly why they were here.

Subsequently, Duanmu Huai and Hood held a closed-door meeting.

He didn’t hide any information. Facing Hood, Duanmu Huai candidly explained the ins and outs of the Tribunal, the origin of humanity, the current threats to the universe, and their objectives. After all, he didn’t see the need to obscure anything and wasn’t keen on playing the mysterious man. Those who act like enigmatic riddles are primarily followers of Cunning Deception, and he didn’t have the time for such nonsense.

After saying all that needs to be said, how they decide to act will depend on their own thoughts.

After all, the UNSC had also stepped into the cosmos, so providing them with some information to help them prepare couldn’t be a problem, could it?

However, for Commander Hood, everything that Duanmu Huai had said was a different story.

In fact, it’s fair to say it had thoroughly shattered his worldview. So much so that after Duanmu Huai finished, the UNSC personnel sat there dumbfounded for quite a while, unable to snap back to reality.

After an unknown amount of time had passed, Commander Hood finally recovered, swallowing hard.

“To be honest, I can hardly believe… everything you’ve just said. So, why have you all come here….”

“I hope there’s no misunderstanding.”

Duanmu Huai shook his head.

“As I’ve said, the Human Empire that once ruled the Milky Way has long been destroyed. We didn’t ask you here hoping you’d return to your roots, only to inform you about the history and situation of the Tribunal. In fact, there are many human civilizations that have been scattered around the Milky Way, many of which have experienced the same developmental process as yourselves. The Tribunal has no intention of reassembling the Human Empire, but whether the empire exists or not, the Tribunal’s actions will not change. We will absolutely not allow any existence that threatens humanity and will eradicate it entirely. I believe you understand what I mean now?”

“…..Yes, I understand.”

This time, responding to Duanmu Huai’s words, Colonel Hood had a serious expression. Although what the other party had said was absurd, upon careful thought, they had no reason to lie to them about such matters. As Duanmu Huai had said, he disclosed this history not to command them or anything like that, only to inform them about the origins of the Tribunal.

One could imagine, if what this Judge said was true, the Tribunal was indeed a powerful organization.

Perhaps, they could completely destroy the Star Alliance?
