A Life in Berry (Gacha System) (Multiverse) (Interactive)

Chapter 12: Berry Boring (Chapter 9)

(Third POV) (world: God of war:ragnarok)

Sindri wiped the sweat from his brow, his small hammer clinking against the workbench as he turned to face Kratos and Atreus. Brok leaned against a crate, arms crossed, his expression already skeptical.

"Let me get this straight," Brok muttered, narrowing his eyes at the towering Spartan. "You lost the Blades of Chaos... because a ball of white light stole them?"

Kratos, jaw tight, nodded. "Yes."

Sindri gave a nervous chuckle, glancing at Atreus. "Is he... joking? Because that's not funny."

"I wouldn't joke about something like this," Atreus insisted, shaking his head. "We were in Niflheim, fighting Hel-walkers, and then—poof—the Blades were gone! The light took them."

Brok let out a raspy laugh. "Right. And next you're gonna tell me an elf stole Mjolnir for a polishing job."

Kratos exhaled sharply through his nose, his patience thinning. "It was no trick. No magic I have seen before."

Sindri rubbed his temples. "Well, if that's true, we have a big problem. Those Blades aren't just weapons, Kratos. They're bound to you. To your past. If something could take them… Gods, what else could it take?"

Kratos remained silent, his gaze steady. Atreus shifted uncomfortably. "Could you track them? I mean, you're the best blacksmiths in the realms."

Brok scoffed. "Flattery won't make this any less insane, boy. But..."

Sindri sighed, tapping his fingers against his chin. "It's true that nothing should be able to steal them outright. If they were simply destroyed, Kratos would still feel their presence, or at least the loss. But you say it was like… they were pulled away?"

"Yes," Kratos affirmed. "The light was not of this realm. It felt... different."

Brok exchanged a look with Sindri, who paled. "What?" Atreus asked.

Sindri swallowed. "If the Blades were taken rather than destroyed... that means they're somewhere. But where, and who took them?"

Kratos' grip on his axe tightened. "Can you find them?"

Brok scratched his beard. "Dunno. But if that light was really nothin' of this world, we might need more than just our smithin' skills to track it."

Sindri nodded. "We need someone who understands magic beyond this realm. Someone who—"

Sindri threw his hands up. "Great. So not only are they gone, we don't even have a clue who or what took them!"

Brok grumbled. "Ain't that just our luck?"

Atreus frowned. "So... what now?"

"We find them. However long it takes." Kratos Said, his face unreadable.

(First POV)(Origin world)

*Sits down in my chair shinji style*

I can't pick up the hammer…FFFUUUCC

Okay so I need to find someone worthy to use it, meanwhile also keeping it a secret…I can only think of like 3 people and they are my family..Kinda depressing thought honestly..

My dad is automatically out unless I reveal my secret meanwhile I do trust my family to keep it a secret. They might let it slip by accident and well at that point the FBI, CIA, NAVY, and ARMY are knocking down my door and kidnapping me or worse my family to get me.

My older step sister? Nope. She's actually decent at keeping secrets, but let's be real—she'd 100% take Mjolnir for a joyride, get caught, and then it's GG for me.

My little brother's exact the same reason and honestly the worst option.

Right…Anyways the hammer is on my desk just sitting there…staring at me. Menacingly

Yea so, I can't move it meaning I cant use my desk for gaming on my shitty laptop that plays valorant on 50 fps on the lowest settings. I am probably going to have to make space in my small little dorm eventually…

Now a small problem like Mjornir will not stop me! Welp that can wait since I have 2 shiny silvers waiting for me sssooo..

"BMO Gamble now!"

"Gacha time! I hope you get something cool! But if not, I still love you!" BMO said adorable

A… Plumbus?

Wtf is that..? Google says the exact same thing as the item description—basically nothing useful.

Why is it kinda slimy…? And what the hell does it even do?

Also, Interdimensional Curiosity?? What does that mean? I'm feeling a mix of curiosity and sheer terror right now. Mostly terror, honestly. I mean… anyone could be watching me at this very moment.

RECYCLE. NOW. RECYCLE.

Phew.

Okay, so I recycled it for 100 Gacha Points, which should put me at 535 points. Not a ton, but every little bit counts when saving up.

Hopefully, no one saw that.

Alright, time to pull the last item!

"BMO PULL!"

"Another try? That's the spirit! Or an addiction! Either way, I support you!"

" I AM NOT ADDICTED" I Said calmly

Damn pretty good for a uncommon skill but I need good breathing techniques which by looking at my body you should be able to see why I am not able to use it 24/7 then train with it and then I can finally use it in battle so overall it is extremely strong but I need a ton of training to get even some use of it.

I decided to leave the hammer in my desk and check the gacha shop for any skills worth less than 530 points.

"BMO show me a short llist of items that cost less than 530 gacha points"

"Okay!"

This is a small list of items that are offered by BMO, and wow, is it beautiful.

Most common skills are simple but good, however not worth it since I could learn it by myself eventually or get a better version in a roll.

Uncommon is the same case except for maybe trained endurance and mental focus. Trained endurance for working out better. Mental focus for the mental attacks useful for low tier-mind readers.

Rare skills are a whole different bucket.Blade dancing is so cool but not useful right now and only useful in adventuring worlds like konosuba and demon slayer.

Musical empathy is useful if I go to an animated world that sings a ton, basically My little pony, adventure time, steven universe and ect.

And this is just skills, nothing else—I wonder what the other categories have..Na…I'm saving my points for something overpowered, something game-changing. Like a bloodline item.

This is game changing item people. They grant the genes of a species or character, like a Kryptonian bloodline. Just imagine that—being able to become Superman. Flight, laser vision, near-invulnerability. Damn. That would be next-level.

The problem? It costs thousands of points…Yea..

and with my current balance it is nowhere close. It's going to take time….a lot of time.

For now, though, back to the grind.

I grabbed my gym bag that is by the bed, threw on my cheap sneakers, and made my way to the small but decent gym near my dorm. The cool night air was a refreshing contrast to the stuffy warmth of my room, and as I stepped outside, I took a deep breath.

My routine is mostly stamina-based, which means running, endurance drills, and leg workouts. I refuse to be that guy who skips leg day. This will also probably make a better hamon user since I need to control my breathing.

When I first started coming here, I was worried—thought people would judge me for being a newbie, out of shape and clueless. But gym people? They're actually pretty nice. Turns out, most of them respect the grind and don't care what you look like, as long as you're putting in the effort.

I nod at a few familiar faces as I step inside. The gym smells like sweat, iron, and effort. The rhythmic sound of weights clanking, feet pounding on treadmills, and the occasional grunt of someone hitting a PR fills the air. There's a guy bench pressing what looks like a small car , seriously wtf is that? another dude shadowboxing near the mirrors, and some lifters hyping each other up before a deadlift. Nice place overall.

I start with my usual:

Treadmill – 10-minute warm-up jog

Incline sprints – 30 seconds on, 1-minute rest (x5 rounds)

Stationary bike – 15 minutes, high resistance

Leg press – 3 sets, medium weight (Not trying to die today)

Calf raises – 3 sets, high reps (Because walking like a penguin after leg day isn't fun)

By the time I finish, my legs are burning, sweat is dripping down my face, and I'm gasping for air like I just ran a marathon. My shirt is soaked, and my muscles feel like jelly. But damn—it feels good.

Upgrades people Upgrades

I grab my water bottle, chug half of it in one go, and lean against the wall, trying to catch my breath. I tried to set a beat to my breathing to try to use hamon and could not for the life of me do it... At least tried..

"Hey man, you're getting faster," one of the regulars, a buff dude named Ray, says as he walks past.

I give a tired thumbs-up. "Trying not to die while running."

He laughs. "That's the spirit."

Fuck this workout

Dragging myself back to my dorm felt like an endurance test on its own. My legs protested every step, my breathing was still a little heavy, and my shirt stuck uncomfortably to my back. Did I mention that I hate this workout? Yea? Well I still hate it but it gets the job done.

The moment I got inside, I tossed my bag on a chair and collapsed onto my bed face-first. The cool sheets against my skin were pure bliss after the intensity of the gym.

I could feel my heartbeat slowly settling, my body shifting into recovery mode. I knew I should shower, but moving even an inch felt impossible. Just five minutes. Just… a little rest…

BMO beeped from my desk.

"Mason! You need to shower! You're stinky!"

I groaned, rolling onto my side. "BMO… I will literally give you a plush of finn and jake if you let me sleep first."

BMO's screen flashed with a little thinking emoji. "...Mason, bodily hygiene is important! But… …"

"Exactly," I muttered.

BMO sighed. "Fine! But I'm setting an alarm for 30 minutes!"

"Deal."

I barely processed the beeping countdown before my eyes shut, and the world faded to black.

Sleep hit me like a truck.

(???)(DREAM:N1Ghtmare R34lm???)

The dream began like any other me just imagining myself doing an epic adventure specifically one in the world of minecraft. But then, the air crackled with an unnatural energy, and the shadows coalesced into a form I knew all too well from a specific Disney XD cartoon show.

"Well, well, well! Mason Berry!" a voice rang out, dripping with chaotic amusement. A golden, triangular figure with a single, scary unblinking eye materialized before me, his arms outstretched. "Fancy meeting you in the great subconscious highway!"

I took a step back, instantly on guard. "Bill Cipher," I muttered.

"What do you want bill!?"

Bill grinned, his form flickering like a broken television screen. "Oh, just a little curiosity session! You see, I've been keeping an eye on you—figuratively speaking, of course. But now? I think I might start doing it literally!" He cackled. "

You've been getting some… interesting trinkets. The blades of choas, a Crystal torch, a BMO, even a little replica of Mjolnir! Quite the collection, kid."

My fists clenched. "How do you know about that?"

"Oh please! I make it my business to know things!" Bill floated in lazy circles around me. "But the real kicker? The thing that really got my attention? You stole a Plumbus!" His eye widened in dramatic exaggeration.

"A Plumbus! Do you have any idea what kind of attention that brings?! Even I don't fully understand what those things do! And trust me, that's saying something."

I stayed silent I can't afford to get him mad otherwise he might start to torment me everyday and there was no way I'd tell him about the gacha system.

Bill didn't need more power than he already had.

He sighed dramatically. "Fine, be all tight-lipped about it. But listen, kiddo—how about we make a deal?" His hands swirled with an eerie blue fire.

"You tell me where all these goodies are coming from, and in return, I'll give you something even better. Maybe a way to control what you get next? Maybe an item no one else in existence has? Or hey! How about knowledge? A peek into the mechanics of this little reality you're living in?" His grin widened. "All for the low, low price of just a teensy bit of information."

I shook my head. "Not happening."

His flames fizzled out, and for a moment, he was silent. Then, he let out a bark of laughter. "Oh, you're fun—a real 'say no to the omniscient dream demon' type! That's rare these days." He adjusted his bowtie.

"Alright, fine. No deal… for now. But don't think this is the last you've seen of me."

The dream began to flicker, the surroundings warping like a melting painting. Bill's single eye bore into me as he started to fade. "I'll be watching, Mason Berry," he said in a low voice. "Whenever I can. Whenever you least expect it."

And with that, I woke up, BMO's alarm startled me

"Take a shower, Mason!"

I woke up and groaned, rubbing my face. "Alright, alright, I'm going…"

Grabbing a fresh set of clothes and a towel, I dragged myself toward the bathroom, still groggy. My muscles ached from the workout, but that just made the upcoming shower feel so much more rewarding.

As the water heated up, my thoughts drifted to the real questions bothering me.

What the hell is a plumbus?

Is he actually watching me right now?

Will Bill come back eventually?

Why did he leave me alone in the first place? I know he needs a deal to fully take over someone's mind or needs someone to open a portal into our universe if he wanted to come to me physically, but I figured he'd at least spend more time trying to convince me. Was he just biding his time? Is he just waiting for the right moment?

…Okay, that's like four different questions. But still.

I shook my head, pushing the thoughts aside. Enough overthinking for now. I am safe for now but need to be careful.

I stepped under the warm stream of water, letting the exhaustion melt away. This hard-earned shower was the only thing that mattered right now.

Your favorite writer here...RIGHT?

Anyways yea the kratos thing will lead no where unless I get a world ticket

I could get a temporary one but they are like only for 1-7 days and are still expensive.

You guys can ask me to make choices like show items, show a category of the gacha shop(Like i did when showing skills) and buy items in the shop.

I did get the item from rick and morty then decided eh why not add bill...was it to much?

BMO will be traveling with us as our companion when we go to another world so we eating good!

Last thing should I share the chatGPT bot that I created in the community builder? There are some mistakes like it picks weapons, magic and items to much so I try to fix it but cant so I just ask in the chat to add it not in the direct system so that is something you guys will need to do.

If i decide to show the link then you guys could use it just say roll a__choose rank__ Ticket

Like roll a silver and you get a something.

Sorry for the changing format of items or the shop trying to keep it in one format is hard since chatGPT changes it sometimes so yea.

Will try to update more and yes there will be a timejump again unless you guys want me to do something specific.

Tip: You can use left, right, A and D keyboard keys to browse between chapters.
