This day started in the most mediocre way. I opened my eyes, washed my face, went for a morning jog, took a shower, had breakfast, and went to the company. You would think that if you live in a comic book world, where day after day villains and heroes fight non-stop, then every day should be filled with crazy events.
Fortunately, this is not so... Now my life is mostly filled with routine, and in fact, I can't say that I am not happy with it. On the contrary, I am glad to be away from all these sometimes stupid events, where my life may be at stake.
I'm not ready for the big supervillain thing. At least not right now... That's why I try to keep a low profile in the supernatural world. I know it can't last forever. With my big plans, I'll soon be thrown into a chain of events that will ultimately change the foundations of my life.
But for now, I'm enjoying the peace and quiet of my current routine. I have a date with Silver St. Cloud tonight, and I need to be well prepared. I'd be lying if I said I was caught off guard by our meeting today. I've been preparing for some time now. And by prepared, I mean the gift I'm going to give her. And that gift, oddly enough, is a book.
When we first met in a restaurant, she asked me when I planned to publish a love story and made me promise to write a book for her… I'm sure she had no idea that I took her words quite seriously and intended to fulfill my promise today.
All last week, in the evenings, I was scribbling proposals for a new work. This time, I decided to present this world with Jane Austen's most famous novel, Pride and Prejudice. Mr. Darcy, the main character of the novel, became the ideal man for many readers.
A noble aristocrat who turns a blind eye to class prejudices and marries for love a woman who is much lower in status than he is, a proud, intelligent, well-read and deeply feeling girl named Elizabeth Bennet. This book was considered the standard of the love genre.
The theme of love between people from different social classes is an eternal story, on which many masterpieces are built, but here the problems of not so much class inequality come to the fore, but their personal qualities - those same "pride" and "prejudice".
I have no doubt that even in this world this work will gain the same popularity as in the present. Despite the fact that the events in the book take place in the early 19th century, I am sure that this fact will not affect the general perception of the novel, but will become its highlight.
After all, this is a real classic, and classics are relevant at all times ... Let's hope that this love story, printed on paper, will appeal to Miss Silver.
As you can see, I am already fully prepared for the evening event with the socialite of Gotham. But I have not told you everything yet ... I suppose I should mention that during this time I have written not one, but two books.
Moreover, I did it simultaneously, in the most literal sense. In the past I said that by increasing my intellect, I learned to divide my consciousness into two parts. Two, completely non-conflicting streams of thoughts.
With the first, I typed lines from the novel "Pride and Prejudice" on the keyboard, and with the second form of consciousness, I dictated aloud, to my virtual assistant Eva, the story of another book.
My fingers became more dexterous, so my typing speed increased somewhat... Thus, I simultaneously wrote two works of fiction. My second book is for Gotham's most insane psychopathic clown, the Joker. I promised him that I would visit him in Arkham and give him a present in the form of a book that would be even better than "It".
Of course, that's not entirely true... I wouldn't dare say that it would be better than the horror from Stephen King, or worse. What I meant here was that my new creation would be more interesting than the previous one for one specific reader, namely the Joker.
I'm sure that he will like my second book more than the story about Pennywise. After all, I intend to give him Anthony Burgess's novel, A Clockwork Orange. One of the most cruel, painful, insane, and controversial books. Its ambiguity lies precisely in its cruelty, because of this, many people cannot fully appreciate this classic. But at the same time, most will agree that this is one of the most significant works in world literature.
The story is about a teenager, the leader of a youth gang, Alex - the embodiment of teenage aggression and rebellion. Alex, along with others like him, wanders the night streets, fights, attacks defenseless passers-by, maims people, robs shops.
Alex gets great pleasure from beatings. In the original book, he stimulates his aggression with drugs and listening to Mozart's music. He is madly in love with classical music. But in this world there is not a single classic from my past world, including Mozart, Beethoven, Bach ... That is why I replaced them with local celebrities, namely the well-known Heinrich Mortes.
Still, this universe is different, and I have to adapt to it. So, my original idea to get to know the culture of this world more deeply was correct. Remembering the first day when I found myself in this world of comics, I once again catch myself thinking that
I made the most sensible decision, throwing all the points into my intellect. This action helped me to acquire a perfect memory, and I could pull out any information from the nooks and crannies of my memory, including the books that I had read in the past and which I recreated here. They became a kind of foundation that helped me gain a foothold…

I spent almost the entire day at work. The clock hand was already crawling towards eight in the evening. It was time to go home. I grabbed my jacket, keys and books. And before leaving the office, I glanced at the covers once more.
Even though I do not plan to publish these books, at least until I acquire my own publishing house, I still need them to be considered full-fledged, and for this they need to have a decent binding. So I placed an order to have them made individually for me. If the cover of Pride and Prejudice was fairly ordinary, the other book oozed madness. From the cover of A Clockwork Orange, a pale, sinister face stared at me, frozen in a grin - the face of the Joker. Only here he was younger, without the white makeup, scars and green hair... The prince of Gotham's underworld with the face of an ordinary teenager.
I think Jay will appreciate it…
