A Saiyan's Journey

Chapter 21: Unlocking the Second World

"Although I can't gain much from Babidi, Dabura, or Majin Buu, causing some trouble for Frieza is definitely within my reach."

Moving away from Babidi's spaceship, Zuke soon found several other spherical ships from Frieza's army nearby.

Just as he anticipated, these ships had been blasted open from the outside, seemingly ambushed by Babidi's minions as soon as they landed, and captured right away.

The likely scenario was that they hurriedly activated their distress signals before getting seized, drained of their energy, and then disposed of.

These rushed distress signals could only be picked up by nearby ships. However, there was also a signal meant for the Frieza Force's headquarters, which apparently hadn't been sent from these ships.

"Well, let me help you send it."

Zuke entered the ships and activated their specific signal transmitters, making sure Frieza's headquarters would receive the signal.

Soon, Frieza's forces would send a squad to investigate, ultimately clashing with Babidi's minions.

With Dabura on Babidi's side, a decisive victory for Babidi was inevitable. However, some level of destruction in battle would be unavoidable.

This might, to some extent, delay Babidi's plan to resurrect Majin Buu.

As for whether Frieza would come here himself and end up being killed by Dabura... Zuke wasn't particularly concerned about that.

When Frieza inherited his father's empire, he'd been warned that there were two individuals he should never provoke in the universe: one was Majin Buu, and the other was the God of Destruction Beerus.

As long as Frieza figured out it was Babidi resurrecting Majin Buu, he'd likely back off to avoid losses.

Although it might not pose a serious threat to Frieza, simply frustrating him was a good outcome. After all, Frieza was holding up Zuke's main storyline task.

After confirming that the distress signal had indeed been sent to Frieza's headquarters, Zuke left, satisfied.

Lingering too long might lead to discovery by Babidi's forces. Given his current strength, if a fight broke out, he could only rely on Instant Transmission to escape.

Moreover, if the ship got destroyed in battle, he'd be trapped on this planet—surviving in space was out of the question.

It was ironic how, despite gaining powers that could threaten the universe, Saiyans still couldn't survive in space, and were even vulnerable to heart disease. Many criticized these high-attack, low-survival characteristics of Saiyans.

Controlling the spaceship again, Zuke departed from the planet. This time, he was truly heading toward Zuno's Planet and wouldn't stop unless he encountered a notable place like Planet Vampa.

Yet, as soon as he left, a system notification sounded in his mind.

[Congratulations, Dear Zuke! You've achieved "The First Step of Synchronization."]

[A new task world has been confirmed and recorded.]

"An achievement? Just like in a game," Zuke thought, already about to log out, but stopped in surprise.

Because the second notification stated that a new task world had been confirmed and recorded…

In other words, the second world was now unlocked, meaning he didn't need to complete the main quest of the first world to progress, as he'd initially feared.

And the name of this achievement was "The First Step of Synchronization," which reminded him of…

Zuke quickly opened his status panel, and sure enough, there was a slight change.

[Current World: "Dragon Ball"]

[Main Task: Defeat Frieza at 100% Power]

[Player Zuke's Synchronization Status: 1%]

[Advance the main task to unlock further synchronization.]

The sync rate had gone from 0% to 1%. Although small, this 1% represented a genuine first step in synchronization according to the system.

The previous 0.5% sync didn't seem to count as progress.

"Why would synchronization increase? Does the system see my recent actions as advancing the main quest?"

While happy about the panel changes and the second world's unlock, Zuke was puzzled by the sync rate increase.

According to the panel, advancing the main quest was the only way to unlock synchronization. Did his recent actions qualify as working toward defeating Frieza?

In his view, all he'd done was give Frieza's army some trouble; it had little to do with actually defeating Frieza.

If merely defeating Frieza were the goal, Zuke had even considered luring Frieza to Dabura and letting him do the job.

However, he suspected the system required him to personally defeat Frieza, so he held back on that plan.

If Dabura did kill Frieza, but the main quest didn't count it as completion, would he even keep his synchronization progress?

"Can't make sense of it, but progress is always good."

He pondered a bit but couldn't figure out how his actions were seen as main quest progress. Since the system said so, he wasn't about to argue.

This system might lack true intelligence, but if he voiced his doubts and it "fixed" the so-called bug by rolling back his progress, he'd be devastated.

Moreover, unlocking a second world was a timely relief for him.

Over the next seven days in the Dragon Ball world, he'd be stuck on the ship, and with a second world, he could spend that time in another task world.

Perhaps, any powers gained in the second world might even help his progress in the Dragon Ball world.

Aside from that, Earth in the Dragon Ball world was a place he definitely wanted to visit. However, traveling there on a spherical spaceship would take a year, which was way too long.

Until he found a faster way to reach Earth, he wouldn't consider it for now.

In the worst case… he still had two Dragon Balls. They were petrified now, but after a year, they'd return to normal.

Using them to transport himself to Earth was an option—even though the power of the Two-Star Dragon Ball had disappointed him greatly, he didn't expect much from that dragon.

The Earth's Dragon Balls, however, created by the Namekian Guardian, were said to be superior, so he anticipated them more.

"Well then, let's log out and check the second world."

Although he hadn't gained power on Babidi's planet, advancing his synchronization made it worthwhile.

Now, he was eager to see what the second world held. If nothing unexpected happened, he'd spend his next seven days of sleep in the second world.

To be continued…
