A Second Chance [Waifu Catalog]

The sound of explosions awakened Kiana. She was greeted with the site of Mei, but she was different from when she last saw her. Mei held Kiana in her arms, a single purple wing of honkai energy on her back, and wearing a school uniform, but not the familiar uniform of Saint Freya Academy.

Kiana's vision blurred as she fought to stay conscious. The word Nagazora echoed in her mind as she recognized her situation. Seeing this scene, it must be after she pushed Mei out of the way of a honkai beasts attack, taking the hit herself and nearly killing Kiana. This caused Mei's herrscher side to come out again.

Kiana's hand went up to grab Mei's arm. 'Time to replay things again'

Mei noticed Kiana's movement. "You're still alive? Good. I'll get rid of this trash and then take care of you. No one gets to die without my say"

Kiana's hand went to the wing and grabbed it. 'Just destroy the wing, and Mei will return again'

"What are you doing? Do you think a mere human can tear down the wings of a god?"

Kiana ignored her and continued putting more pressure until the wing began to crack. The scene stunning herrscher Mei. "What? This can't be possible… How can an ordinary human break the wings of the god?!"

"Return Mei to me!" Kiana broke the wing, tearing it off. The herrscher falling unconscious but as her eyes closed, looked at Kiana one last time. 'To think I've been defeated by you twice. I won't forget this Kiana! I'll be back'

Kiana also fell unconscious, her last thoughts being. 'This is the third time I've fallen unconscious within a short time… or is it the fourth…?'

Awakening again inside a hospital room, she looked up at the sterile white ceiling before sitting up. 

"Hey you, you're finally awake. You're healing up pretty nicely I think" There was Theresa, her aunt, sitting on the 11th Divine Key, Oath of Judah. Kiana remembered this scene, she called Theresa a brat and thus Theresa unleashed Judah upon her, using it to simply tie her up in some sort of bondage play.

'Hmph, using a divine key on a hospital patient that just woke up just because I called you a brat. How petty can you be!' Kiana was tempted to call her a brat again but decided against it, she made the choice to be a little nicer.

"What's a child doing here?"

"C-Child?!?!" Theresa was tempted to use Judah but stopped herself.

"Listen here! I'm Theresa and I'm in charge of the Far East branch of Schicksal! And I'm not a child! I'm an adult!"

'Never change Theresa'

Next began the conversation of Theresa convincing Kiana to join St. Freya along with her friends. Saying how Kiana was too weak to look for her father and that she might not be able to save Mei again if the Herrsher resurfaces. Kiana already expected all of this and knowing that Bronya and Mei have already agreed she also agreed.

'Hmph, you never told me where Father was. Well I never did become an A-rank valkyrie as was part of the deal. Stupid school, wait… I have already taken the tests in my past life… hehe, reaching A-rank before everything happens will be a piece of cake'

Theresa signaled for the doctors to come in and do a quick checkup on Kiana, once they verified that she was healthy enough to leave, Theresa gave Kiana her clothes back, her school uniform from Chiba Academy High School.

Theresa and Kiana walked to the dorm room where Kiana, Mei and Bronya would be staying. It was also where Himeko lived as well. Kiana opened the door to the room. Trash bags were crammed into every corner, bottles of beer half-empty and abandoned, while the stench of stale laundry mixed with something unidentifiable clung to the air. The place looked like a warzone, one where cleanliness had surrendered long ago

'It's worse than I remembered' Kiana was once more disgusted by the site. "What a dump"

Theresa could only sigh "It's been like this for a while. Welcome to the lair of a single, angry female"

"Don't open that closet!!" Yelled Himeko, but Mei had already opened it which caused a wave of junk to crash onto the both of them. "Oh my god! What's all this stuff!" Mei was shocked by the amount of junk that managed to be shoved into such a small closet. "At least 3 months of things I couldn't find a use for… Be a sweetheart and help me clean this up" Himeko said but she could only wonder why she was chosen to mother these kids. Mei was getting up when she noticed Theresa and Kiana standing there watching.

Kiana was staring at Himeko with widened eyes until Mei called out to her. Mei wrapped her in a hug and Kiana returned it. "Welcome home, Kiana" Kiana smiled, one hand going down to Mei's lower back where the [Company Stamp] appeared in her hand for a brief second before disappearing.

'I'll make sure nothing goes wrong this time…'

Now laying on her bed inside her new room, Kiana reached into her pocket and pulled out her Company smartphone. She hadn't gotten the chance to check it out as she was dragged into cleaning with the others.

Kiana went through the available apps the smartphone had to help contractors, she also downloaded a few mobile games that caught her interest, surprisingly the smartphone did not have a storage limit.

She went to the Retinue app that showed all those who were part of her retinue. Her name was listed there along with Mei, however Mei had a timer under her name. Mei wasn't officially apart of the retinue until the [Company Stamp] had fully taken effect, this process would take 72 hours. Once done, Mei would receive the benefits of being apart of a retinue as well as Kiana's talents she purchased as well as defenses.

'I'll need to stamp everyone else too, especially Himeko…'

Kiana put the phone in her pocket and got out of bed. Next she wanted to investigate her pocket home. She walked up to a wall and willed a portal to open, she walked through and found herself standing on a small floating island with the only thing on it being a house.

Looking over the edge she saw nothing but an endless void. Deciding that it would be bad if she fell in, she took a step back and started walking to the front door of her new house. 

Entering the house, she noted that it was just an ordinary home, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large living room, full-size kitchen and dining area and three empty rooms. A very large room, a large and medium room where she could decide what these rooms can be. She left them empty and went to the kitchen and opened the pantry, fridge, freezer and cabinets. Everything was filled with food, ingredients or dishes. Her eyes glowed bright when she spotted her favorite instant noodles and junk food. Closing everything and grabbing a bag of chips, she went to the stairs that led downstairs into the basement.

The basement was where the armory was. Opening the heavy metal door, she was greeted with a very large room that was easily bigger than the house.

"It's bigger on the inside but small on the outside? How does that work?" She concluded that the armory was definitely larger than the floating island the house was currently on. She passed through rows and rows of weapons and armor stands, containers filled with ammunition, grenades and attachments.

The armory held standard and specialized equipment from her world. Unfortunately it didn't offer custom made weapons, heavily modified or unique weapons. That didn't bother her much, she was happy to get access to battle-suits and weapons normally available for A-rank valkyries.

The best part, she didn't need to maintain the equipment here. Everything here is automatically maintained and repaired, requiring no human input. A big benefit for those who are lazy.

Exiting the armory, she went to the living room and sat down on the couch while munching on her chips. She pulled out of her inventory the [Green Eye Orb]. She was curious about this exclusive club for contractors. The club was meant for entertainment as well as a trade hub between contractors. Holding the Eye Orb with her dirty hand from the chips, the eye looked at her and blinked. 

It didn't speak yet she somehow knew what it was trying to convey.

"Umm, sure"

The eye blinked once more and she disappeared. Reappearing in a completely new location. She was in a massive plaza, beautiful and exotic trees and flowers all around and gracefully built water fountains. The plaza was filled with hundreds, probably thousands of people, all doing their own thing. She noted that many of these people were not humans, some looking like aliens or monsters you would see in fiction.

She stored away her chips into her inventory and wiped away the crumbs on her face and clothes. Quickly licking her fingers clean of the chips. 

"Hey, you there!"

Kiana froze in place, she quickly took her finger out of her mouth and turned around. A girl was looking at her with a smug expression. The young girl had short dark brown hair with crimson eyes. Wearing a black coat, red robes and a large hat that you would see old wizards wear and an eyepatch.

"Behold, the one and only—Azura, the Merciful Demon King of the Crimson Abyss!  I am a merciful demon king, offering salvation to all who dare to seek my aid!" Azura, the Merciful Demon King of the Crimson Abyss struck an over dramatic pose, as if trying to intimidate Kiana.

Kiana looked at her with confusion. 

'Who the hell is this kid?!'
