Absolute Death Game

Chapter 48: Evil God 2

However, with a formidable enemy at hand, Xiao Buli had no time to appreciate or study these zombies. Seeing something emerging from the crystal coffin and knowing the effect had taken hold, he didn't care what kind of zombie was coming out. He took out the Refining Ghost Copper Pot and the Giant Spirit Scepter—his planned combination for enhancing the Magical Treasures—since there was nothing particularly noteworthy about the zombies themselves.

Xiao Buli's True Qi circulated as he cast Yin Transforming Skills and the Enlarging Technique on the freshly created Black Evil. Immediately boosted by two powerful BUFFs, the Black Evil didn't take two steps before its body swelled up, transforming into a three-meter-tall colossus, its muscles as solid as steel.

At that moment, the crystal coffin's cooldown ended, and amidst swirling black mist, an Iron Corpse with a metallic sheen emerged from the casket, indicating the type of zombie produced by the crystal coffin was random.

With these three Magical Treasures in hand, Xiao Buli felt greatly assured. He no longer engaged in direct combat, hiding behind the crystal coffin instead. Whenever a Serpent Demon approached the edge of the pit, he would send a Mysterious Ice Slash or a Sunfire Spellball to momentarily repel them. Then, as soon as a zombie emerged, he would bestow two BUFFs on it. The crystal coffin exuded an aura of ghostly energy, and although the Serpent Demons knew Xiao Buli was behind it, they hesitated to engage in battle. The zombies, fearless of death, immediately sprang into action upon taking form, heedless of whatever they were facing. If Xiao Buli so wished, they would pile up their bodies into a small hill with unwavering obedience; hence, without any hesitation, they launched themselves at the Serpent Demons. The Iron Corpse, relying on its natural defenses and devoid of any strategy or tactics, clung to a Serpent Demon, utterly ignoring the frantic scratches on its body, and violently tore the creature in half by pulling its head and tail simultaneously.

The Black Evil, not wanting to be outdone, used its claws sharp as knives to swiftly cool the hearts of the two nearest Serpent Demons, tearing their bodies apart like ripping through cloth.

In just over a minute, more than a dozen zombies had gathered in front of the pit. They brandished their forms and displayed their strengths, fully surrounding the pit and preventing the frenzied Serpent Demons from advancing even half a step closer.

Xiao Buli, no longer worried about Serpent Demons disturbing the process of the Lava Giant Python in the pit, proudly observed his nightmarish assassins and scrutinized the capabilities of each kind of zombie. He soon noticed their individual specialties.

For example, the relatively short red Blood Corpse could absorb life through its attacks. Even though it was only about two meters tall after enhancement, which paled in comparison to the three-meter-tall behemoths, its size grew with each Serpent Demon it killed. By now, it had grown taller than the other zombies.

Then there was a Green-haired Zombie covered in poison. Its attack power didn't seem very high, but it continuously emitted green corpse poison from its body. This fog-like corpse poison differed from the Serpent Demon's venom. Although both were toxic, the potency of the corpse poison was stronger. Serpent Demons shrouded in this gas could initially struggle to rise, but eventually, their upper bodies collapsed to the ground, barely breathing. The most detestable part was that the poison didn't swiftly end their lives; the Serpent Demons occasionally twitched on the ground, their fierce faces contorted as if to squeeze the rest of their flesh with their facial muscles. This sight deterred other Serpent Demons from nearing the Green-haired Zombie—the suffering Serpent Demons on the ground served as a deterrent, warning the living to stay away.

Although the zombies were gaining the upper hand, their attacks were one-on-one with no AOE (area of effect) abilities. Xiao Buli grew bored after watching for a while, so he launched Mysterious Ice Slashes and Nine Heavens Thunder Fire Swords at areas dense with Serpent People, while the ten zombies dealt with the stragglers. Once this formation was established, it sealed a fate of harvesting for the Serpent Demons.

"If I were you, I wouldn't waste Physical Strength like this. Are you sure there are only so many Serpent Demons? What if your True Origin Points run out? Besides, the zombies will help you kill the monsters anyway, what's the hurry?" the Heart Demon seeing the situation stabilizing, seemingly discontent, popped out with an interjection.

"Shut up!" Xiao Buli yelled, his movements growing faster, as if antagonizing the Heart Demon was his way of interacting with it. After about ten minutes of relentless killing, the corpses of the Serpent Demons quickly piled up into mounds around him.

Following another Mysterious Ice Slash, Xiao Buli suddenly felt weakened as his True Origin Force was nearly depleted after the fierce battle. With only a few Serpent Demons remaining on the field, and more than half of the ten zombies injured—the earliest appearing Black Evil looked particularly gory, one side of its body apparently shredded by the Serpent Demons' claws, hanging flesh resembling torn ribbons where its arm should be.

The Long-armed Zombie, with the lowest defense, had its chest clawed transparent, and a blood-reducing DEBUFF on its head, clearly poisoned multiple times. Nevertheless, the situation seemed generally under control.

Xiao Buli sat down cross-legged on the ground, put away the crystal coffin, Magic Wand, and other Magical Treasures, and began meditating to recover his Vital Energy.
