Adam in the Real World and Harry Potter?(OC/HP/Showbiz/Hollywood)

Chapter 8: Chapter 7:

Chapter 7:

…..

The first day of filming was exactly how Adam had imagined it… but also completely different.

There were cameras everywhere, blinding lights, and a crowd of people constantly moving back and forth, giving orders or fixing things that, to Adam, already seemed perfect.

But what struck him the most was how organized everything was, as if every tiny movement had been planned months in advance.

It was all new, exciting… and a little overwhelming.

Having read his entire script and learned more about his character, Adam couldn't help but notice that he was almost perfect for Albert's role in Bogus.

Apparently he was just right for the role of Albert in Bogus, because he also used to have one imaginary friend and now he literally went every night to a magical world... Therefore, the role of a boy who loves magic and has an imaginary friend suited him quite well.

Ironically he didn't know this when he sought the role. But now he was just more eager to start acting.

However, Adam hadn't started acting yet. Instead, he was given time to meet the makeup artists, costume designers, actors, and the rest of the production crew.

Unlike the other actors and crew members, Adam wasn't alone.

Andrew White, his 20-year-old brother, had taken on the role of tutor and chaperone during filming. He wasn't Adam's first choice, of course, but since everyone else in the family was busy with work or school, Andrew was the only available option. And while Adam was grateful not to be completely on his own, that didn't mean his brother's presence was always welcome.

…..

"You know you don't have to stay on set all day, right?" Adam asked his brother as they both sat in folding chairs near the production team.

Andrew, lounging comfortably with his arms crossed, tilted his head slightly and raised an eyebrow.

"Are you so sick of your beloved older brother that you're trying to get rid of me? What did I do to deserve such treatment?"

Adam rolled his eyes, already used to Andrew's sarcastic remarks.

"Oh, please. I don't mind you being here, but remember, you're literally going to have nothing to do but wait until the day ends"

Andrew shrugged and pulled a small laptop from his backpack.

"I brought my laptop to get some work done," he said casually, opening the screen and beginning to type. Then, without looking up, he reached out and ruffled Adam's hair, clearly finding it amusing… much to Adam's annoyance.

"Besides," Andrew added, "you legally need a tutor or chaperone with you on set. So, instead of hiring someone you probably don't even know, Mom thought it'd be better to send me. And honestly, who better for the job than me?"

Adam sighed, silently admitting that his mom had a point. Having a familiar face around, even if it was his annoying brother's, was better than nothing.

Yes, despite everything, Adam couldn't deny that having Andrew nearby… irritating tutor or not… made his first filming experience a little less lonely.

And though he'd never admit it out loud, it was comforting to know that someone from his family was there to support him.

….

Soon, the real filming began, though Adam wasn't in the first scenes being shot. The team had scheduled other scenes to go first.

During a break while the crew adjusted the cameras for the next shot, Andrew looked at Adam with a mix of curiosity and mild concern.

"Oh, I heard from Mom that you're planning to leave private school and start homeschooling with private tutors or something like that. Are you really okay with leaving your school?"

Adam, who was flipping through the movie script, didn't look up but replied casually:

"Yeah. I already told her I want to focus entirely on acting, at least for now. And she supports me. Plus, you know she's always complaining about how bad both public and private schools are… and she's a teacher"

Andrew chuckled, nodding.

"Yeah, I know. Well, I can't say I don't get it. Private tutors saved me from failing almost all my classes. I probably learned more from them than I ever did at school"

Adam cracked a small smile at the comment but kept reading the script.

"And what about your friends?" Andrew asked after a few seconds, this time with a more serious but curious tone.

Adam closed the script with a light sigh and shrugged.

"Don't you remember when you picked me up from school before the holidays?" he replied sarcastically, his eyes rolling slightly as he recalled the incident.

Andrew smirked mischievously.

"Oh, you mean the time you were crying like a little girl?"

Adam glared at him, annoyed.

"Ha Ha, hilarious. And it's completely natural to cry if someone hits you in the face with a ball"

"It was just a little accident," Andrew said lightly, shrugging as if it didn't matter. "Happens to everyone, not a big deal"

"It was on purpose!" Adam exclaimed, crossing his arms in frustration. He was tired of repeating this since that day.

"Hmm… And why did everyone else in your class say otherwise?"

Adam let out a huff.

"Well, there's your answer as to why I don't care about not going back"

"Ah, I see, you're mad at everyone because of that"

"In my defense, they all saw it was on purpose, and it wasn't the first time. So no, it doesn't bother me at all not to go back"

Andrew raised an eyebrow before throwing in a comment that was clearly meant to sound like life advice:

"You know running away from your problems isn't the solution, right?"

Adam stared at him in disbelief.

"Seriously? You of all people are saying that?"

Andrew laughed softly.

"And it's not running away from anything" Adamm add. " It's just not worth my time… I've got way more interesting things to focus on."

And it was kinda true. He literally had an entire magical world he wanted to keep learning about as much as possible. Plus, now he was an actor. What could be cooler than that?

"Hey, I'm just saying you should stand up to bullies the right way"

"Not everything can be solved with fists," Adam said, rolling his eyes at his brother's obvious intentions.

Yup, Andrew was the most aggressive and quick-tempered member of the family.

"It's the best way to earn respect. Trust me," Andrew said.

Adam scoffed, replying with sarcasm:

"Oh, I know. Mom was always complaining about how often you got punished for that"

"And every punishment was worth it," Andrew replied with an arrogant grin, as if he was proud of his past fights.

Adam shook his head and went back to reading the script.

Still, he couldn't help but think that it wasn't like he hadn't wanted to stand up for himself…

He always did. But when facing someone bigger and stronger, he was smart enough to know when to retreat strategically before a physical confrontation. Maybe he should learn some martial arts for self-defense in the future.

….

Naturally, Andrew wasn't ready to drop the subject so easily.

"You know, you still need to make friends. Or are you planning to be some kind of Lone Ranger?" Andrew joked, laughing lightly for some reason, as if he'd said something truly hilarious.

Probably, only he found it funny.

Adam didn't respond immediately, staring at the script pages as if he were fully engrossed, though he wasn't reading anything.

Finally, he shot an irritated glance at his brother, who couldn't help but laugh again.

"I don't need school to make friends," Adam finally said. "I'm going to keep playing sports whenever I'm not acting"

Andrew raised an eyebrow.

"Hmm sure, because you've got so many friends in those sports, right?"

This time, Adam didn't bother responding. He simply set the script aside and crossed his arms, staring toward the set. As always, Andrew seemed to find amusement in everything… even in annoying his younger brother.

Shortly after, the production team finally called Adam to film the next scene.

As he walked toward the set, adjusting his costume, Andrew gave him a light tap on the shoulder.

"Good luck out there, movie star! Don't forget to smile for the cameras"

Adam huffed, but he couldn't help a small smile as he headed off to have the hair and makeup team make the final adjustments.

...

The production team of Bogus gathered to film the first scene featuring Adam, playing the role of Albert Franklin.

Adam was now seated in a chair as the makeup artists and hairstylists made the final adjustments. His naturally dark brown hair, which fell in soft strands to his shoulders, had been lightened slightly to better match the hair of his on-screen mother, played by Nancy Travis. His outfit consisted of a worn blue overall with straps and a striped t-shirt in dark blue, white, and red. Every detail of his wardrobe was designed to convey a sense of childhood innocence and everyday charm.

With the cameras ready and the director in position, Adam prepared for his first day under the lights.

"All right, everyone, pay attention," announced Norman, the director, through a megaphone. "We're about to shoot our young star's first scene. Lights! Camera! Sound!"

The crew hurried to confirm that everything was in place.

"Action!"

The scene began with Nancy, as Lorraine Franklin, stepping out of the house and speaking to Albert. Adam as Albert, with a slightly worried expression, held a small cage containing his pet mouse, which he had named Lightning. The interaction between mother and son was meant to feel natural, reflecting a morning routine before she left for work. Nancy, dressed casually and radiating motherly warmth, began her lines with ease.

"I'll be back between shows, and I want you ready for bed. No TV until you finish that report," said Lorraine as she walked toward the car, turning to glance at Albert.

"Tell Mr. Antoine the mouse won't eat," Adam replied, his voice tinged with sweet concern, more focused on his pet than his mother's instructions.

Lorraine smiled patiently and turned fully to look at him.

"You hear me? No TV"

"I promise," Albert said firmly, before insisting again, "But tell Mr. Antoine the mouse won't eat"

Nancy, as Lorraine, leaned down slightly, placed a hand on Adam's shoulder, and said:

"Okay. Now give your mom a big kiss"

This moment was a small challenge for Adam. Just because he wasn't used to kissing his real parents on the lips, much less someone he didn't know. However, with his Perfect Acting skill activated from the start, the slight awkwardness he felt wasn't noticeable at all. In fact, his performance was splendid despite the simplicity of the scene. He gave his on-screen mom a warm hug and kiss, while she gently stroked his cheek before getting into the car.

"And don't let that mouse out of the cage," she warned as she got in and settled in her seat.

"I won't," Adam replied.

"Mrs. Partridge, I'll be back between shows," Lorraine informed the nanny standing at the door of the house.

"All right. Drive careful," replied Barbara Hamilton as Mrs. Partridge.

"Okay. Love you!" Lorraine said to the nanny.

As Nancy started the car, Adam continued holding the cage and showing it to his mom, trying to make his point clear:

"Tell Mr. Antoine he won't eat!"

"Okay. See ya!" she replied, ready to leave as she started the car and briefly turned to glance at him.

"Make sure you tell him!" Adam shouted.

"Okay! I will!" Nancy responded again as the car slowly pulled away from the house.

"Don't forget to!" Adam yelled loudly.

"Okay!" she shouted back, driving further down the street.

The scene ended with Adam heading back to the house and speaking to the nanny, Mrs. Partridge, played by Barbara Hamilton. He lifted the cage to show her the mouse and enthusiastically said:

"Mr. Antoine is teaching me how to make Lightning disappear"

Mrs. Partridge responded with a resigned smile: "Mm-hmm. Sooner the better. I'm not a mouse person"

"Come on. Let's get in here and do some more tricks," she said, wrapping up as they both went back inside the house.

"Cut!" shouted Norman, the director. Instantly, Adam stopped using his Perfect Acting skill.

There was a moment of silence as everyone waited for the director's reaction.

Finally, he gave a thumbs-up with a wide grin.

"Perfect! That take was excellent"

Adam let out a sigh of relief, pleased to have completed his first scene in the movie. Of course, his skill had done most of the work, but he was still happy and found the sequence entertaining.

As the crew adjusted the cameras and lighting for the next shot, the director approached Adam.

"Great job, Adam. That was a fantastic way to start," Norman said with an encouraging smile.

"Thank you," Adam replied modestly, though he couldn't hide his big grin.

"Now, for the next scene, do you remember your lines?"

"Of course," Adam replied confidently.

"Good, perfect."

The director explained how Adam should approach the next scene and encouraged him to practice his lines with Nancy and Barbara. Meanwhile, the production team finalized preparations for the interior house scenes.

Since the next scene was connected to the first, the set designers had already prepared the interior of the house, complete with lighting and sound equipment. All that was left was to move the camera inside, which wouldn't take more than 10 minutes.

....

....

"All right, Adam, remember the basics for this scene. I just want you to show a little more enthusiasm when talking about your Hoover Dam report," the director suggested before they began filming again. "Can you do that for me?"

Adam nodded determinedly, ready to move forward.

As soon as Norman said, "Action!" Adam instantly reactivated his Perfect Acting skill.

[Ring]

"Hello. It's Lorraine, Mrs. Partridge. How's my boy?"

"Oh, he's fine. Fine. Ate all his vegetables tonight, even his broccoli," Mrs. Partridge said.

"Good, good. Well, I need to go to the market, and I'll be home within the hour."

"Is it my mom?! " Adam, as Albert, asked.

"Hold on. Here comes Mr. Magician," Mrs. Partridge teased, handing the phone to Adam.

"Mom, I did my Hoover Dam report. I'm going to read it to you…"

"I'm coming home to put you to bed. You can read it to me then."

"I'll just read you the first part… '45 miles from Las Vegas is the Hoover Dam. It is one of the highest dams in the entire world…'"

"Ooh! That's my opener"

"Oh, it's stupendous! I'm hooked! And save the rest for when I get home. And don't forget to brush your teeth"
