Chapter 6: Embers of Rebellion

The underground chamber was quiet as Celeste looked the map in front of her. The leader, Nyssa, wasted no time informing her about everything. Before her lay a layout of Eidolon's central district, marked with denoting guard patrols, Enclave outposts, and weak points in the city's barriers.

"We go tomorrow morning ," Nyssa said, "We need records of the Pantheon's divine command—evidence of their lies. If people see this, some will hopefully start questioning the gods. And with enough doubt, the gods will lose their hold."

Celeste frowned. "You want me to break into the most guarded institution in the city? That place has divine seals all over the place."

Nyssa smirked. "This is why we need you. Aether doesn't flow through you the way it does for us. The seals won't notice you. They won't react to you."

Celeste leaned back, Breaking into an Enclave stronghold wasn't exactly how she had envisioned the day, but she had no choice The Pantheon wouldn't stop hunting her.

"Fine," she said, rolling up the map. " I'm not dying for you guys"

Nyssa smiled. "That's the spirit."

The city was quiet . Celeste moved like a shadow, jumping on the rooftops as she approached the Grand Archive.

Two Enclave Agents stood at the entrance, Celeste narrowed her eyes, focusing on the Aether around her.

She reached out, shaping the Aether into thin, threads. With a flick of her wrist, the energy wrapped around the agent boots. A moment later, she twisted her fingers, and the Aether coiled tighter—just enough to trip one of them forward.

"What the hell—?" The guard stumble

Celeste didn't wait. With another pulse of Aether, she sent a ripple through the air, the breaking enchantments on the Archive's door. The divine sigils flickered, then faded just enough for her to slip through.

The interior was vast, filled with towering shelves and glowing tomes floating midair. She moved quickly, scanning the hall for the restricted archives.

footsteps start approaching where she is.

She ducked behind a pillar somebody approached, an Enclave officer in the silver-and-gold armor of. His presence was heavy, his Aether it was strong.

Celeste's pulse quickened. He's strong!!

She clenched her fists, channeling Aether into her palms.

I might need to kill him.
