Chapter 376: Legacy
Within the spacious, vast palace.
Sìxiàng stood before the enormous throne, looking up at the icy corpse seated upon the Black Thorn Throne.
Although many years had passed since its death, the body still exuded a strong divine presence.
The long shadow of the Dark Overlord emerged from the foot of the corpse, half on the ground, half suspended in reality, "So you think you only need a hundred years to defeat the opponent."
"I believe I can."
"Do you know what great Divine Power represents?"
"I do not know, but I have reached this point in only two years and seven months," Sìxiàng calmly stated.
"Two years and seven months to reach the Sixth Layers of Transcendence is nothing," the Dark Overlord stated indifferently.
It was born divine, nurtured by the Dark Realm.
At birth, it possessed the power of Ascension.
Transcendence to the Sixth Layers... was insufficient even for its initial power of Ascension, but another unique aspect of Sìxiàng caught its attention.
"But that you could master the Law in just two years and seven months is beyond my expectations," the Dark Overlord mused, though it had been born with mastery of various Laws and even had unawakened Authorities within.
But it belonged to the inherently nurtured divine beings.
Among acquired beings, it had never before seen one who could master Law so quickly within Transcendence.
"Compared to me, you are now the true master of the Dark Realm," the Dark Overlord said softly, "Destiny is in your hands, I can only guide, not interfere."
"Now that you are prepared to bear everything, I hope you will not regret it."
As the words fell, the Dark Overlord waved his hand.
The giant on the throne suddenly stood up.
Its massive body exuded a great pressure.
The black robe draped over it scattered like a tide, decomposing into black sand in the air.
Eventually, only a vast towering figure remained standing in place.
In appearance, it was very similar to the true body of the shadow in black mist just before, also an eagle-headed human figure.
But the wings were cleanly broken off as if torn by some great force.
The two pupils became hollow, leaving only dark cavities, with long-dried blood trickling down from the corners of the eyes, forming two bloody tear streaks.
The chest showed no movement, the sturdy torso pierced by a Golden Spear flashing with golden lightning.
The interior of the spear was filled with numerous golden tadpole-shaped runes which formed a thunder-like pattern.
After staring at its face for over three seconds, Sìxiàng felt a stinging in his eyes, and couldn't help but turn his head away, tears flowing freely.
The giant reached out with one hand, grasping the Golden Spear embedded in its chest.
The sharp, pitch-black, icy hand clutched the Thunder Spear, bursting forth with dazzling lightning.
The Golden Spear buzzed, and a thick black mist erupted from the giant's body, shrouding its face and making it increasingly blurred.
The already ice-cold blood inside gradually flowed... like lava rivers roaring angrily within an ice-capped mountain frozen for ten thousand years.
Boom, boom~
It sounded like thunder inside the body.
The air around the palace vibrated uncontrollably, sending ripples through the layers, and Sìxiàng heard buzzing in his ears.
He felt his own blood boiling, nearly falling over.
The giant's hand, seemingly out of nowhere, landed on Sìxiàng's head, covering his upper body with a large palm while his long nails almost covered his entire body.
"All to you! Focus your attention on me!"
The giant's voice echoed through the palace.
Sìxiàng's body trembled as countless forces entered through each feather into his body.
He grunted, floating into the air.
Countless streams of black mist poured from the giant's body into Sìxiàng's.
"Your body is too weak now, although this divine body of mine is already full of holes, it isn't something you can inherit directly, and even if I gave you all of it at once, it wouldn't be good for you," the giant's voice came faintly.
Sìxiàng had no time to respond as the unending power surged into him like a flood, necessitating his full concentration to assimilate it. Find more adventures on My Virtual Library Empire
...
"It seems Sìxiàng also has his own opportunity,"
Through the contract, Chen Xing could feel that the source of Sìxiàng's power seemed to be continuously growing.
He wondered whether Sìxiàng's opportunity could help him break through to the pinnacle of Transcendence.
Chen Xing thought for a moment, if he could break through to the pinnacle of Transcendence in one go, then Ascension would only be a step away.
He looked down at the news on his phone.
The scandal over the "doping" in the Eagle Federation had already become a heated topic.
Netizens around the world were condemning the Eagle Federation, although a considerable portion of the media within the borders of the Eagle Federation was still trying to defend their country.
Some media created the narrative that "doping" was reasonable.
In some states within the Eagle Federation, consuming drugs was legal, and administering drugs to Beast Tamers was an old tradition, so having some drug residues in the body during a competition was quite normal.
The Beast Tamer that had turned purple during the competition hadn't taken stimulants during the match, but had ingested other drugs long before the competition, which, because of overly intense activity, caused his body to turn purple, a normal occurrence due to the accelerated blood flow from excessive activity.
A well-known Beast Tamer from the Eagle Federation publicly supported this, recording a fight video of his Beast Taming in which his creature also slightly turned purple after a fierce battle.
Some media even blatantly beautified their videos, and since it is well known that videos can't be faked, quite a few people within the Eagle Federation believed it.
