Chapter 119: KING'S IDEA LOGY OF SITES
The great bronze doors of the Royal Hall creaked open with a deep, reverberating groan that echoed across the wide chamber, signaling the arrival of Kaelen of Obreth. His expression was grim but composed, carrying the weight of the report he was about to deliver.
The circular chamber was already alive with murmurs. Council leaders—Julious, Parche, Rivers, Camero—stood in their places around the King's elevated seat. The air was thick with worry and anticipation.
SFX: Metal boots thudding firmly across stone, torches crackling with low flame, faint murmuring dying down.
King Farhan, clad in a flowing silver and navy robe with the crown resting slightly tilted on his brow, raised a hand. The hall fell silent.
> King Farhan: "Kaelen of Obreth... you may speak."
Kaelen knelt momentarily before standing upright, his sharp blue eyes meeting the King's.
> Kaelen (voice calm but heavy): "Your Majesty. I bring the full account of what happened at the demon site near the Iron Mine."
He inhaled deeply, then began. His voice was firm but filled with underlying tension.
> Kaelen: "We divided into two teams. I led the Apex and Zenith members through the eastern cave, while Arslan led the Mythics through the western path. Initial sightings were normal...goblins, abyssal rats—common filth we've faced before. But what followed…"
He hesitated for a heartbeat.
> Kaelen: "…five creatures, fast, brutal, unnatural. Arslan used two of his advanced techniques—Shadow Stride and Dark Infusion—to save his team and amplify their powers. It worked. But the cost… it broke him."
Gasps echoed around the hall.
SFX: A few murmurs, the metallic clink of a councilor's goblet being set down hard.
> Kaelen (fists clenched): "He collapsed. His heart nearly stopped. His body was covered in black marks. Healers say he barely survived."
A beat of silence, broken only by the steady burning of the wall sconces.
> Julious (stepping forward): "What about the site itself?"
> Kaelen: "After the battle, the entire site began to crumble. It vanished. Just like that. The third site is… gone."
The word vanished fell like a stone in water. The implication shook everyone.
> Rivers (gravely): "One of the four demon sites is no more… and it happened after a direct assault."
The King's eyes darkened in thought. He leaned forward.
> King Farhan: "So, the site vanished after the demons inside were slain."
> Kaelen: "Yes, Your Majesty. That's the only link we could find."
> Camero: "Could this be a pattern? Are the sites reacting to the purge of evil within them?"
The King stood slowly, his robes trailing as he descended from the dais, placing a hand on the round central table. His voice was resolute but carried a trace of fear.
> King Farhan: "Then this gives us clarity. We must not wait. These sites are corruption itself. If slaying what resides inside them leads to their disappearance... then we must strike."
SFX: The room begins murmuring again, this time with rising energy—hope mixed with urgency.
> King Farhan (raising his voice slightly): "We will form scout and purge teams for the remaining three sites. One at the Farmlands. One at the Lumberyard. One still near the Lake District."
> Julious: "With your permission, Majesty, I shall begin coordinating the teams."
> King Farhan: "Do so immediately. But…"
His tone dropped lower, heavier.
> King Farhan: "Send a message to Arslan."
Julious blinked, then nodded. Everyone in the room tensed again at the mention of the hero who almost died.
> King Farhan: "Inform him, with my full authority, he is to take no missions until fully recovered. His courage has earned the kingdom's gratitude. But I will not let it claim his life."
> Rivers: "A wise command. We cannot afford to lose the one who has stood at the center of every battle's turning point."
> Parche (softly): "What of the other cities, Your Majesty? What if demon sites are appearing there too?"
> King Farhan (with gravity): "They are. A herald from ThornVale spoke of cursed sites. Smoke, disappearance of knights, crystals… just like ours."
He looked up to the stained-glass ceiling that filtered soft gold daylight into the chamber.
> King Farhan: "This is no longer isolated. This is a spreading fire."
King Further add " After two days, Between... the High Lords of ThornVale, Altheria, Varneth, and Cael'Lorien, we host a Grand Meeting. Here, in this capital. This meeting will because of situation of demons.. So you had to prepare for the Meeting.... All arrangements are under responsibility of Rivers and Julius..... Parche will hold security concerns.."
Rivers, Julius and Parche bowed and said "We will not disappoint you"
SFX: Quills beginning to scratch on parchment. Scrolls unfurled. Footsteps leaving to deliver urgent missives.
> Camero: "Will we share all intelligence?"
> King Farhan (pausing): "Everything... except Arslan's condition. For now, that stays within these walls. The world sees him as a pillar. Let's not shake the foundations yet."
The council nodded in silent agreement.
Scene Shift: The Mythic Base Infirmary
In the far end of the city, in the Mythic ward where Arslan still rested in slumber, the echo of the King's words seemed to reach the hearts of those who guarded his bed. Nirela sat with a damp cloth in hand, silently watching over him. The wind tapped the windows like gentle fingers, carrying with it the weight of war and the hope of recovery.
Back in the Royal Hall, the King turned toward the window, looking far across the skyline of Lumisgrave.
> King Farhan (to himself): "This is not just about closing gates... This is about preserving what remains. Before shadows drown it all."
