Chapter 6: Threads of the Hunt
The wind whispered through the canopy high above the boar's position.
Ryu narrowed his eyes. The Kumo Nenkin kunai in both hands had hardened to a pale, golden sheen. His chakra thread hummed beneath his feet as he swung and perched just above the beast, upside down, completely silent.
"Your heart rate is elevated," Akatsuki observed.
"Of course it is. This is my first real kill."
"Correction. This is your first real hunt. And you're mimicking a spider."
"Exactly. If I'm gonna cosplay, I'm gonna commit."
The Iron-Tusk Boar snorted, its breath steaming against the earth as it rooted through soil and ironbark roots. Its hide resembled forged bronze—thick plates armoring its shoulders and back, with its signature iron tusks curving outward like scimitars.
Ryu flicked his wrist. A chakra thread lashed downward, attaching to a branch across the glade. Then another. And another.
He spun a net—chakra-infused and nearly invisible—into a triangular kill zone around the boar in seconds.
"Target isolated," Ryu whispered. "Engaging."
He took a deep breath—then dropped.
The boar reacted a second too late. Ryu's descent was clean and silent. Nearing the forest floor, he twisted mid-air and flung both kunai in golden arcs.
Thunk! Thunk!
Both blades buried deep into the creature's flanks—but, as expected, the impact barely made it flinch. Its armored hide absorbed most of the damage.
It roared, twisting to charge—and that was precisely what Ryu wanted.
Trap Triggered!
The beast's tusks caught the chakra thread—a taut trap line strung just above the soil. The thread snapped upward, jerking the creature's head and halting its momentum.
Before it could recover, Ryu yanked a line above. The net sprang tight. Threads shot down, clinging to the boar's legs and sides.
It roared in defiance, thrashing against the sticky, gold-infused trap—but Ryu was already in motion, leaping from branch to branch, flanking it like a predator.
He drew another wad of Spider Gold from his mouth, molded it into a long, javelin-like needle, and hurled it with a palm-thrusted burst of chakra.
Hiden: Kidōsenbon!
The golden spike struck the beast's exposed neck—not lethal, but enough to stagger it.
"Boar resisting entrapment. Chakra levels depleting," Akatsuki warned.
"I'm not done yet."
With a silent seal, Ryu activated Spider Binding Field, threads extending from his back like arachnid limbs. They stabbed into the earth—anchoring, syncing, sealing.
Whomp!
A final snap of golden thread tightened around the boar's throat.
The beast collapsed.
Twitched once.
And was still.
Ryu stood over it, panting lightly. Sweat beaded along his brow. He chewed another dose of sticky gold, molding a small dagger.
Then, silently, he drove it into the creature's eye to ensure the kill.

He stared at the prompts in bewilderment. He knew this world had a system, but was unfamiliar with it being so in-your-face.
"What are System credits?"
"System credits are simple system money. Items in the shop cost money, in the real world, but with system credit from missions and kills, you might be able to purchase things far more easily. Remember, the system is here to bring forth Akatsuki; it won't make things harder for its holder."

Ryu exhaled and slumped against a tree trunk, exhausted but exhilarated. Thanks to Aido's memories, he understood that this world had a hidden system, but most denizens could not see their stats outside of ancient techniques or rare technology.
"Not bad," Akatsuki admitted. "You may have a natural affinity for deception-based combat."
"So… I'm a shinobi spider huntsman?"
"You're an unstable genre mashup. But effective."
He grinned—until a pulse of energy struck his senses like a cold wave.
[Akatsuki System — Enemy Detected]
— New Entity Detected: Class: Unknown
— Distance: 14 meters. Direction: North
Ryu stood fast, a kunai in hand.
Something had sensed the kill.
And it was coming.
He leaped away just in time as a massive shape smashed through the tree behind him. A thunderous snort split the clearing, metallic tusks gleaming beneath bloody-red eyes.
Variant.
The boar's hide was even thicker, more reinforced. Its body crackled with energy as it kicked up debris.
Ryu's eyes widened. This wasn't just another beast. He cursed under his breath. He'd gotten reckless. Overconfident.
He hadn't activated his Sharingan. He thought he'd been silent enough. Invisible.
He was wrong.
The meter-long boar blurred forward.
Ryu raised his arms in an X just before impact.
THUD!
The hit launched him ten meters. He slammed into a tree base, wheezing hard as his golden armor shattered. He gasped, air returning to his lungs in a ragged wheeze as he dropped to one knee.
SQUEAL! OINK! OINK!
The boar let out a brutal war cry, charging again.
Ryu's Sharingan activated just in time. His perception sharpened—he flipped over the incoming beast as it rammed into another tree, scarring the bark.
He rolled and recovered.
"Pathetic," Akatsuki muttered.
"Shit. This thing's still low-class?"
"…Actually, that's peak low-class. See that third tusk? It's mutating."
The ground quaked as the beast stomped.
"This is a variant-mutated boar—high-purity bloodline. Your luck's not terrible," Akatsuki added.
Ryu squatted and formed hand seals. He had no time to ponder; a technique hummed into his mind, and his extremities moved almost unbidden.
He spat globs of sticky gold—two clones emerged, landing beside him.
"It's your bloodline resonance. Unlike the elemental nations, where clan secrets are written down and painstakingly learned, here, your bloodline resonance will whisper secret techniques to you from an ancient ancestor
He leapt up a tree and spat more gold.
🕸️ Hiden: Kumo Nenkin Clone Technique
(Secret Technique: Spider Gold Clone Jutsu)
Classification: Hiden, Ninjutsu, Clone Technique
Nature Type: None (Chakra-enhanced Biological Material)
Rank: II
Hand Seals: Snake → Boar → Ox → Spider → Clap
Chakra Cost: Moderate (Rank dependent)
Prerequisite: Kumo Nenkin Kekkei Genkai
This secret jutsu allows me to create solid clones composed entirely of hardened, chakra-enhanced golden protein secreted from my body. If I'm not mistaken, this wasn't a known move from Kidomaru unless he never had the chance to showcase it in the manga.
Unlike standard Shadow Clones, these Kumo Niken Clones possess high durability, physical weight, and a web-linked chakra thread that connects them to the user. This allows for advanced coordinated tactics, delayed detonation, or information recall. This explains the puppet technique in my status. Though they lack independent thought, they execute pre-programmed commands or mirror the user's movements and techniques.
Peng!
The first clone's punch landed with a metallic clang, making the boar stumble. The second came down hard with an ax kick, forcing the beast's head into the dirt.
Dazed, the boar shook itself violently—then the ground shifted.
The terrain softened. Quicksand.
The clones sank as the boar raised its tusks and skewered the nearest clone through the belly. But it didn't vanish. It grabbed the tusk—binding threads clinging on tight.
Ryu grinned, cheeks stuffed with molded sticky-gold.
He raised the tiger seal.
BOOM.
The clone popped, coating the boar's front half in golden paste. It hardened instantly, freezing part of its tusks and shoulders.
The beast roared, but its movement had slowed.
And Ryu was already crafting the finisher.
