All For YOU...

I opened the hatch and saw a cellar down there. It was like the one from the 'Evil Dead' movie. Nothing was visible so I looked for a torch for further investigation. On the stairs down the cellar, I found a note.

' If you are reading this, then it's too late. Go back and lock the hatch again. DO NOT COME ANY FURTHER THAN THIS '

It was a message which might be directed at me and the handwriting looked like my dad's. My name wasn't mentioned.

(They said earlier that they had gone to Grandpa's house?... Was that a façade? What does this note even mean?

One more thing struck my mind. The curfew. What is the reason behind it? Usually, it is broadcasted on the television but there was no such news going on.)

This note sent me on a highly doubtful trip and I couldn't hide the fact that I was getting restless.

I took a deep breath and started to go inside the cellar.

"Re-Reo"

Miette called out to me.

"Hmm?"

"Please be safe, okay... and - just... don't take much time"

"No promises on that, but I'll try my best. DO NOT TRY TO COME AFTER ME, OKAY? If you feel scared just call Yuki for some reassurance"

"O-okay"

With this, I finally descended the stairs making as little sound as I could. I had brought in only a few things that I thought were necessary. A torch, an additional battery, a rope, pen and paper, a knife, flint, and other stuff like that.

I had a list of things which I already kept ready because I love camping and these things are the best things you can keep with you.

I got down to the basement and saw some liquid on the ground. It wasn't clear what it was even within the light of the torch.

I saw that a shelf was hiding a secret passage. It was visible as if it was used. I pushed it and saw a small tunnel going even deeper.

I decided to go inside. It was a really big area yet the turns almost looked familiar.

After going through the tunnel for about 15 minutes I saw light at the end. It was really good to finally get some fresh air.

I didn't drop down directly but noticed what it was.

There was a vast room and I was in one of the shafts used for ventilation. I could see some black-dressed officials who were never seen above.

(What even is this place?)

I was also writing the turns I took on the paper. Reviewing it from time to time.

If my intuition is correct then the number of turns I took will direct towards the...

I ate the paper I brought with me to not leave any presence of me being there.

I dropped down and went into another shaft to make my assumptions clear.

I looked through each gap and at one point I knew it was 'that' place all along.

Every turn I took corresponded to the pathway of my school !!! This was none other than the underground of the school. Maybe this was the area where the bunker was.

(Why is this shaft connected to my house? It almost feels like it was made a few years ago.)

I decided to investigate further as at this point there was no going back...

I ventured more and more and the density of those black-suited men increased.

"They have been spotted! Lead them to the Nexus asap"

"Copy that"

I heard two officials talking and running in another direction.

(Caught?)

I decided to follow them stealthily.

They ran so fast that I lost track of them after just one turn. I tried to listen for footsteps but now there were a million of them.

(If I get caught right now I will surely be shot.)

*bang*

The moment I said 'shot' I heard some gunshots and yelling from the other side. I quickly followed the sound and reached a huge dome-like structure. It was really big with vents all over it for ventilation purposes.

I climbed one when I heard another gunshot and a scream.

(Maybe I should have listened to that note, what the fuck is even going on?)

I went inside the dome through the dome and finally got a glimpse of the shooters. It was like a gang war. There were around 12 people on one end and around 50 of those black-dressed officials on the other.

There was blind shooting going on from both sides. One lone man was sitting at the center that almost looked like a 'Throne'. His face might not be clear but his aura felt loud and clear. He was the ruler, THE KING OF ABYSSAL NEXUS HIMSELF.

He was laughing at the shooting. I looked at him and got lost. My focus broke when I heard the last gunshot. The ground was a pool of blood, both from the dead civilians and the dead officials.

I couldn't separate anything just from that blood.

I saw a lone man stand up and shoot at the king.

The king didn't even react and the bullet was repealed. He was in a barrier, enjoying this mass shooting.

His smile vanished and he looked directly into the eyes of the man who shot him.

"Hmmm, you sure are a big nuisance to me, you know."

(His heavy voice seemed to break the will of that man as he dropped right there on his knees. Even I was startled by his voice.)

A woman crawled her way to that person.

I wanted to have a clear look at what's going on so I moved forward.

That guy started to talk again.

"Feel proud. You actually felt like a little threat. The rebellion you were creating was powerful. Hehheheh, sadly it didn't end well."

"Cu-curse you, Nexus"

I stood still after hearing that voice.

(It can't be...)

I rushed to clear away my thoughts.

With an evil chuckle, Nexus said "If you had connections from within my rule then I had people infiltrated as well. You think you can save the world but this world requires sacrifices, you see, I can kill the traitors easily. But ... Can you distrust your allies? Hahaha hahaha, exactly!!! God, I love the look on your face."

(His inner words were nothing like the speech he gave that day... His charisma was still the same but his aura, despite being as powerful as ever, was dark....)

"You will never be able to bury us, our love for our nation, for our freedom stands above all. You will rot in hell and one day someone will throw you as well. Someone whose heart will be pure and intentions all cle-"

"Blah blah blah, care to shut the crap? 'A warrior will come to kill me and I will sit here holding a white flag, trying to surrender' You want me to believe this kind of a fairy tale? You know as well that you are going to die here, why not try and remember your family before you die."

I was almost near the place where they both were talking when I saw all the blood and bodies up close. I have seen many executions but this kind of killing upfront actually messed up my mind a little.

"You already killed everyone here, this woman is my wife-"

"Huh???" He shot the woman crawling almost 10 times. "I didn't hear you, what ?"

I couldn't believe my own eyes. I was known to the fact that Nexus was cruel but doing this? I wonder how many people lost their lives because of this guy right here.

"I came here with my name on the coffin so I don't fear you. Just know that you will ro-"

A shot directly to his head.

*yawns* "huh? Did I press the trigger by mistake? Oh god, I wanted to hear from him more."

Lightning struck me as I saw that man's face. His eyes stared right at me, piercing through my whole body. I dared not move. I couldn't. The feeling was so numb that my chest got heavy but nothing else happened.

(I stand alone, weak and helpless... Nobody can hear me crying, crying won't help... Nobody would understand my anger, anger won't help.... So I decided to feel nothing...Afterall ..... Any other emotion is not needed.)

"Your majesty..... have sensed some intrusion from someo-"

A man wearing a black mask came to inform me about my intrusion. His body language felt familiar but I wasn't in the right mind to think about it.

"Leave me, Michael, I am already so tired at this point. Shoot anyone who isn't wearing black...burn the bodies here and let the vents fill in with the smoke...

"I won't forget about you, Mr. Becker"

After everyone left, I got out and stood in the pool of blood. It wasn't mine but it hurts.....

Lying here were my mom and dad...
