Chapter 241: Chapter 241 Kakashi vs. Akatsuki
After blocking all the kunai and shuriken, more than a dozen ninjas suddenly appeared around the two of them.
Some of these ninjas were from Suna, while others were Konoha shinobi. What they all had in common was that they were all Jōnin!
Despite being surrounded by so many jonins, the two Akatsuki members showed no signs of panic. Sasori remained calm with his usual indifferent expression, while Deidara licked his lips, excitement building in his eyes.
"Looks like this time," Deidara said with a grin, his eyes gleaming with anticipation, "I'll finally get to show off my art properly!" He raised a hand, forming a clay bird between his fingers as he prepared to unleash his explosive masterpiece.
His eyes scanned the alert ninjas surrounding them, sizing them up. "You don't seriously think these guys can stop us, do you?" he taunted, his smirk widening. "Don't be ridiculous!" Deidara's voice was full of arrogance, his belief in his own abilities unwavering. These ninjas, no matter how many they were, were no match for his artistry—or so he thought.
Before he could finish his sentence, the leader of the opposing force spoke up, his voice cutting through Deidara's bravado with unnerving calm.
"No," the leader said, his tone steady and unyielding. "Our mission isn't to kill you two. It's to stop you. We're just here to delay you, so you can't escape."
The blunt honesty in his words took both Deidara and Sasori by surprise. The pair exchanged a glance, confusion flickering in their eyes. Deidara, never one to be caught off guard, was the first to speak up.
"What?" Deidara exclaimed, his voice laced with incredulity. "What do you mean? Delay us? How do you plan on doing that?" His hand twitched, ready to pull out more clay, but something about the leader's unwavering confidence made him hesitate.
Sasori, however, reacted quickly. His expression hardened, his amber eyes narrowing in suspicion. His normally calm demeanor turned serious. "Something's wrong," he said, his voice low, almost as though he were speaking to himself. "They're stalling for time."
Deidara's eyes widened in realization. The playful edge in his tone faded, replaced with growing concern. "You think... they're waiting for someone stronger?"
"Kakashi," Sasori added grimly, his voice carrying a weight that Deidara immediately picked up on.
Deidara growled, clearly displeased by the turn of events. "Kakashi, huh?" he muttered, his fingers already reaching for more clay. "Well, if it's him, I guess I'll have to step up my art a little."
Sasori's gaze remained sharp, but he didn't show the same eagerness for battle. "Don't get too cocky, Deidara. We've dealt with many strong opponents before, but a Hokage is different. Every Kage from that village has been troublesome."
At the mention of Kakashi's name, Deidara's expression shifted, his excitement turning to concern.
If this had happened before, they wouldn't have panicked at the mention of Kakashi's name. To them, he was just an ordinary Jōnin. What was there to be afraid of?
But now, things were different. The information from last time was no joke. Kakashi had single-handedly killed both Hidan and Kakuzu!
Although the Akatsuki organization often looked down on one another and believed they were superior to others, they weren't fools.
A person who could eliminate both Hidan and Kakuzu with ease posed a significant threat. If they faced him, they knew there would be no advantage for them.
"Quick battle!" Sasori ordered, his voice tense. "Use our strongest techniques to take them all out immediately, and then retreat! If that doesn't work, we'll need to find a way to call for help. We can't let Kakashi get here!"
Deidara gritted his teeth and, with a sharp motion, threw dozens of clay bombs from his hands.
Deidara, now fully energized by the thought of the explosions, nodded eagerly. "Art is an explosion!" he declared, his signature grin returning. "And this one's going to be huge!"
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The explosions rocked the area, but none of the enemy ninjas were killed. They were skilled, dodging and evading expertly. They didn't engage directly—just harassed the two Akatsuki members. Their priority was to stay alive.
The fighting style was frustrating—like a swarm of flies buzzing around. Deidara and Sasori were becoming completely overwhelmed.
Just as they were looking for an escape, a bolt of lightning shot from the shadows.
"Trying to run? It's already too late!"
It was Kakashi. As soon as he appeared, his eyes transformed into the Sharingan, and Sasori's face darkened.
"Just as the rumors said," Sasori muttered, his expression grim. "His strength has evolved far beyond his information on bingo book."
Deidara's expression was even worse. The Sharingan—he'd experienced its power firsthand.
Kakashi wasted no time. With a swift motion, he summoned Kamui Susanoo.
"No more words. It's time to end this." With those words, Kakashi threw a Kamui shuriken.
Three minutes later, both Deidara and Sasori had completely lost the ability to fight. They were on the verge of death.
Kakashi stood there, calm and composed, without a hint of exhaustion or even a flushed face. He appeared completely at ease.
And in truth, he was. Deidara and Sasori were undoubtedly strong—on par with Kage-level Shinobi. However, their opponents were simply too powerful.
Kakashi's current strength had already surpassed Kage-level. He was undeniably at the Six Paths level. Facing these two was like a walk in the park.
Not to mention, he had already studied their fighting methods and gathered all the necessary information. The battle was effortless for him.
With mental calculations and precise movements, Kakashi had mastered every aspect of the fight. For the opposition to last as long as three minutes was impressive in itself.
At this point, Kakashi ordered the others to handle the situation. He had the bodies of Deidara and Sasori taken to the scientific department.
On one hand, it would be useful for research; on the other, the torture department would get a chance to examine them.
Meanwhile, the ninjas who had watched the battle were in utter shock.
The power Kakashi had just displayed was far beyond anything they had imagined—infinitely more overwhelming.
Kurenai, her brow furrowed in confusion, stepped forward, her eyes fixed on Susanoo. "Wait a minute," she muttered, more to herself than anyone else. "That technique... the power of the Susanoo… Is Hokage-sama an Uchiha?"
She glanced at her comrades, looking for answers. "I thought... I thought only Uchiha could use Susanoo. Could Kakashi have unlocked that power without being one of them?"
One of the nearby ninjas, a young Chunin, whispered nervously, "Could it be that Hokage-sama... isn't just an ordinary ninja after all?"
Whispers filled the air.
None of them had ever expected Kakashi's strength to be so immense. And seeing Kamui Susanoo in action—it was truly mind-blowing.
The sight of it left an indelible impression on their minds. It was a shock they would carry with them for the rest of their lives.
In that moment, their admiration for Kakashi grew beyond measure.
Soon after, in Ryan's world, he sat reviewing the report from the technology department. According to the report, they had achieved impressive results in science and technology, developing several products that had already made their way into thousands of homes, significantly improving daily life. Ryan was pleased with these accomplishments.
At the same time, the chat group was buzzing with activity. The Hokages were all discussing the upcoming event.
Hashirama: "When is the next meeting? Half a year has passed already. I'm guessing the next Hokage meeting should start soon."
At Hashirama's comment, the other Hokages nodded in agreement. The excitement was palpable.
Tsunade: "Yeah, I can't wait! Let's wrap up the rewards and then head into the new world together! I'm really looking forward to traveling."
She leaned back in her chair, her voice full of enthusiasm. "The Multiverse missions are so much fun... I've gotten bored just staying here in this office for half a year."
Her words sparked a ripple of agreement among the group. Naruto raised his hand excitedly.
Naruto: "Yes! I've been wanting to visit the Multiverse too. Whether it's gaining new ramen flavors, it's all exciting!" He grinned widely as if already imagining the endless possibilities of the food of the gods.
Sasuke usually the one to keep his emotions in check, couldn't help but add his thoughts. His voice, though more subdued, carried an edge of frustration.
Sasuke: "Exactly! Doing paperwork in the Hokage office every day is suffocating. Nothing has happened lately. When's the next chat meeting?"
Ryan read through the messages. It reminded him of the passing of time. He glanced at the calendar on his desk. Yes, half a year had passed. It seemed like the chat group meeting was about to start.
He had been looking forward to it for a long time. After all, once the rankings were finalized, there would be rewards to claim. And Ryan knew he was likely to land in the top three.
