Am I in Attack on Titan with a Death Note???

Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Because soon, that peace was going to shatter.

"3..."

"2..."

"1..."

The Shinigami's voice barely faded before an earth-shaking boom filled the air. A deafening impact sent a shockwave through Shiganshina as a massive hand gripped the top of Wall Maria.

Zen's breath hitched. Then—there it was.

A head loomed over the wall, steam rising from its skinless body. Its hollow eyes stared down at the district like a god gazing upon insects.

The Colossal Titan.

The moment it pulled its leg back, Zen knew what was coming next.

Shit, shit, shit—

BOOM!

The gate exploded into splinters. A powerful gust of wind tore through the streets, throwing people off their feet. Chaos erupted.

Screams. Panic. A living nightmare.

Zen stumbled back, pressing himself against a building for cover. His heart was pounding faster than a train, but he forced himself to breathe.

"Fuck… this is scary."

He shook his head, gripping the Death Note. 'If I sense even 1% danger, I'm writing a name immediately.'

But right now, his target wasn't the Colossal Titan.

It was the real threat—the Smiling Titan.

His gaze snapped toward the main street, where people frantically ran, trying to escape the oncoming swarm of Titans. Eren and Mikasa should be— There. He spotted them, sprinting toward their house.

Zen pushed forward, weaving through the chaos. If the Smiling Titan was going to appear soon, then—

He skidded to a stop.

There it was.

A towering, grotesque figure with a wide, unnerving grin. Stumbling forward on instinct rather than hunger, drawn by fate.

Dina Fritz.

Zen had mere moments before history repeated itself. His eyes darted to Carla Jaeger's house. The roof had already collapsed, trapping her under heavy debris.

Eren and Mikasa were desperately trying to move the rubble, tears streaming down their faces. A soldier—Hannes—stood nearby, hesitation in his eyes.

Zen knew what was supposed to happen. Hannes would try to fight, then panic and run with the kids, leaving Carla to her fate.

Not this time.

Zen's grip tightened around the Death Note. He didn't have time to waste.

Hannes hesitated, glancing between the Titan and the trapped woman.

Zen's fingers twitched.

Sorry, man.

Before Hannes could make his choice, Zen subtly flipped open the Death Note.

Hannes – Dies instantly by a Titan bite.

The second he wrote the last letter—

A shadow loomed over them.

Hannes turned to fight—only for another Titan to grab him first. His scream was cut short as its teeth closed around his torso, crushing him in a single bite.

Eren and Mikasa gasped in horror.

Zen barely spared them a glance; he had no time to care.

The Smiling Titan crouched down, reaching for Carla.

"Now!" Zen arrived in front of Eren and Mikasa.

He pulled out the Death Note again, flipping to a blank page. His hand moved fast, writing the real name:

Dina Fritz – Dies of natural causes.

As the last stroke of ink dried, the Titan froze.

Its fingers twitched mere inches from Carla.

Its mouth hung open—but no bite came.

Then, slowly, unnaturally, its body slumped forward. Its massive form trembled, steam hissing from its body.

Zen took a step back, watching as the impossible happened. The Smiling Titan convulsed, its limbs seizing up—before it stopped moving entirely.

And just like that, it collapsed.

Dead.

Silence.

Zen exhaled, his hands trembling slightly.

Eren and Mikasa stood nearby, their faces pale with shock, struggling to process the catastrophic events unfolding around them.

Carla, still pinned under the debris but conscious, winced in pain.

Zen quickly assessed the situation. "We need to move," he urged, crouching to help. "More Titans are coming."

Mikasa, her protective instincts kicking in, nodded firmly. "Follow me," she said, her voice steady despite the chaos. "I know a way."

Zen removed the rubble trapping Carla, his muscles straining. Once freed, Carla gasped, "I can't walk... Please, take the children and go."

Ignoring her plea, Zen lifted her into his arms. "We're all getting out of here together," he insisted. "Lead the way."

Mikasa took point, her sharp eyes scanning for danger. She led them through narrow alleys and side streets, avoiding the main roads where Titans were converging. The ground shook with each monstrous step, and distant screams filled the air.

Eren clenched his fists, tears streaming down his face. "Our home... everything..."

"Cry later," Mikasa said firmly, not breaking her stride. "Right now, we survive."

As they navigated the labyrinth of the city, a Titan's roar echoed alarmingly close. Zen tightened his grip on Carla, his heart pounding. "Faster!"

She quickened her pace, leading them through a series of sharp turns until they reached a hidden pathway that sloped upward. "This leads to the inner gate," she explained. "Fewer people know about it."

They ascended the path, the sounds of destruction gradually fading behind them. Upon reaching the inner gate, soldiers were coordinating the evacuation, ushering civilians through to the safety of Wall Rose.

Zen approached a medic. "She needs help," he said, gently lowering Carla.

The medic nodded, signaling for assistance. Eren and Mikasa stayed close to their mother, relief mingling with the lingering fear in their eyes.

Carla grasped Zen's hand weakly. "Thank you... for saving us."

As the gates closed, sealing off the district from the Titan onslaught, Zen glanced back at the smoke-filled sky.
