AM I SUPERMAN?

Chapter 90: CHAPTER 90

"Fiora!" Kaius roared, his frustration spilling over. He was beginning to regret bringing her home.

To be fair, this wasn't entirely his fault. The Justice League headquarters was still under construction, and leaving Fiora alone wasn't something he felt comfortable with. Clark could have been a suitable caretaker, but ever since Lois was attacked, Clark had practically moved into her orbit, spending every waking moment by her side. He was nowhere to be found.

And Fiora? She had insisted on staying with Kaius, citing her duty to protect him 24/7. The excuse, thinly veiled as it was, left Kaius with no choice but to take her in.

When Kaius's uncle, Sheriff James, saw him bring another woman home, he nearly jumped to the wrong conclusion. It took a solid explanation to clear up the misunderstanding.

Of course, Diana—Kaius's official girlfriend—wasn't thrilled about the arrangement. Having another woman in the house didn't sit well with her, but she begrudgingly accepted it after ensuring that nothing improper had happened. Still, the tension between Diana and Fiora was palpable, and their clashes became a daily occurrence.

Fiora snapped to attention at Kaius's call, turning sharply toward him. "At your service, General Kaius! What are your orders?"

Kaius sighed deeply, rubbing his temples. "Go to the living room and reflect for an hour!" he barked.

"Yes, sir!" Fiora saluted and marched off toward the living room, where she stood facing the wall, rigid as a statue.

Watching the scene unfold, Diana's stern expression finally cracked. She burst into laughter, clutching her sides. "Hahaha! She's actually standing there against the wall!"

"And you're laughing? Why don't you try living with her?" Kaius retorted, stepping forward to lightly flick Diana on the forehead.

"She doesn't listen to me," Diana said matter-of-factly. "Of course, I have to put her in her place."

Diana and Fiora, despite their shared beauty and warrior backgrounds, had a mutual disdain for each other. Fiora's military precision clashed with Diana's regal confidence, and the two seemed destined to butt heads.

Sheriff James, who had been silently observing the drama from the sidelines, coughed awkwardly. "Well, if no one needs me, I'll head to work."

"I'll make you a quick breakfast," Kaius offered. He grabbed a frozen steak from the refrigerator, then—finding no usable cookware in the still-damaged kitchen—grilled it in his palm using his heat vision.

After breakfast, James left for the police station. Fiora resumed her hour of "reflection," and Diana, ever practical, started cleaning the kitchen, replacing the burned-out items with plans to purchase new ones later.

Kaius, meanwhile, had other plans. After the battle in Metropolis, he had fabricated an excuse to his school, claiming he was severely injured and recovering in the Seventh Military District's hospital. The ruse earned him a much-needed break from classes.

"I'm heading to Central City for some business," Kaius announced, grabbing his things. "You two stay here, and for the love of everything, don't wreck the house while I'm gone."

Fiora and Diana both promised they'd behave, though Kaius left with some skepticism. Moments later, he was airborne, speeding toward Central City's cutting-edge scientific labs.

Elsewhere, in the Batcave, Bruce Wayne had spent nearly a week in the Batcave, tirelessly working on his latest project. Despite his efforts, he had only managed to dissolve a portion of the Star Warrior metal, combining it with Earth-based alloys to create a new material he called Star Alloy.

"Master Wayne, you can't expect to defeat Superman with just one set of armor," Alfred remarked, his voice calm yet firm as he approached Bruce. "And I don't believe you need to see him as an adversary."

Bruce glanced at Alfred but kept working. "You're right. One set of armor won't be enough," he admitted. "I'll need more powerful weapons. And it's time to restart development on the super-energy reactor."

Bruce had been consumed by thoughts of how to counter Superman. He had seen firsthand how easily Superman could level a building during the battle in Metropolis. While Superman had saved the city, Bruce couldn't ignore the potential for catastrophe if Superman—or others like him—ever turned against humanity.

"When that day comes, someone has to be ready to stop them," Bruce said grimly, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Alfred sighed, shaking his head. "You're letting paranoia cloud your judgment, sir."

The tension was broken by the soft chime of a notification. Alfred glanced at the computer screen on the wall, where a flashing envelope icon had appeared. "Master Wayne, it seems you've received an email."

Bruce paused his work, removing his gloves and wiping sweat from his brow before walking to the computer. He opened the email and began scanning its contents.

"From the Wayne Group's intelligence department," Bruce muttered. "Information on Superman, Wonder Woman, and… the Avenger."

The email detailed a series of interconnected incidents. Bruce read carefully:

Six months ago, a small town had been the site of two alien invasions. The Avenger had successfully repelled the attackers, but the bodies of the alien invaders had mysteriously disappeared.

Months later, a terrifying monster appeared in Metropolis. The government claimed it was a terrorist attack, but the report noted that the monster was first sighted near the LexCorp facility.

LexCorp had also discovered a strange green meteorite in the same town.

Bruce's mind raced as he connected the dots. He recalled the meteor shower that had occurred over the same town more than a decade ago. Could the green meteorite be connected to Superman?

Bruce leaned back in his chair, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "If LexCorp is involved, they may have more information. But to find out, I'll need to access their internal network."

Bruce immediately attempted to breach LexCorp's systems from his computer. However, as one of the most technologically advanced corporations in the world, LexCorp's firewalls were heavily fortified. Despite Bruce's brilliance, he wasn't a master hacker, and multiple attempts to infiltrate their system ended in failure.

Frustrated, he leaned back in his chair. "Alfred, where's the hard drive I use for data extraction?"

Alfred, who had been tidying the scattered blueprints and tools, replied without missing a beat. "In the cabinet to your right, sir. But surely you're not planning to visit LexCorp in person?"

Bruce smirked faintly, the hint of a plan forming in his mind. "That's exactly what I'm planning. Contact Lena Luthor and set up a meeting. Tell her I'm interested in discussing a business partnership."

Alfred raised an eyebrow. "I assume this is less about business and more about gathering intel?"

Bruce's smirk deepened. "Exactly. Sometimes, the best way to access information is by walking straight through the front door."
