Tai: "Blade of Attack!"
(He charges in, shouting —)
Tai: "Haaaa!"
(Ren calmly sidesteps, Tai's strike slices the air. Ren's eyes don't even blink.)
Ren (calm): "Too open."
(Ren's palm glides up — a single push. Tai's ribs catch the force. It cracks like a stone but no blood spills — the pain alone makes Tai flinch back.)
Tai (gritting teeth): "Tch— that hurt… but here goes the next one!"
(He lunges again, but Ren just slides a hand behind his back, as if bored.)
Tai (confused): "What—?!"
Ren (quiet, final): "It's over."
(Tai freezes. He feels the air shift — his knees hit the floor. He didn't even see the last blow.)
Tai (breathing heavy, smirking through the pain): "Damn… I never expected to meet people this strong…"
Tai (panting, wiping sweat, still grinning):
> "So… will ya teach me up, huh?"
Ren (arms crossed, looking down at him like testing a blade):
> "Let's see first. What's your type?"
Tai (blinks, tilts head):
> "My what?"
Ren (steps closer, taps Tai's chest with two fingers, like feeling his core):
> "Your affinity. You got mana — everyone does — but yours has a flavor. Wind? Water? Rock? Thunder? Fire? Maybe even something… rarer."
Tai (eyes widen, curious but clueless):
> "I dunno! I just fight! You tell me."
Ren (cracks a tiny smirk, first time he shows it):
> "Heh. Then stand up. I'll find out for you — the hard way."
(Tai's grin returns — ready to get thrown around again.)
Ren: "Alright, let's see. It's called an Oculumar Check-in. This'll show us your mana type."
Tai: "Oh? I thought I'd have to swing a sword or something! Fine, let's see."
(Tai focuses. A faint magic circle appears… then nothing. Ren squints, confused.)
Ren: "Huh? Wait… what's this? There's nothing showing — no fire, no wind, nothing?"
Tai: "Maybe I'm just too special." He grins, full of energy. "Guess you're stuck with a prodigy, huh?"
(Ren's eyebrow twitches. He flicks Tai's forehead, hard.)
Ren: "You're the cockiest brat I've ever seen. And I'm the poor guy who has to train you? Gods help me."
Tai: Headbutts Ren's head playfully. "Hey, you're the one doing all this dramatic talk! Just admit you're shocked by my hidden power!"
(Their foreheads clash, sparks fly — Matsui steps in with an awkward laugh.)
Matsui: "Oi! Guys, guys! Save the headbutts for real training, please!"
Tai: Points at Ren, nose-to-nose. "You'll know me soon enough!"
Ren: Smirks. "You'll see soon enough, funny face."
---Tai: after the intense battle with Ren "So, what's my energy or type? What's my element? Am I some kind of special, or…?"
Ren: "Depends. Some people have blood manipulation, others can control elements like Fire, Water, or Wind. But for you…"
Tai: "Let's see, huh? Alright, show me what I've got."
(They engage in another sparring match. Ren wins effortlessly, but Tai is determined.)
Ren: "You're still cocky, huh? I'll give you credit for trying."
Tai: panting "Well, you are the expert. I've still got a long way to go, huh?"
Ren: "You got that right."
---
The mission starts. Tai and Ren are sent to help a village plagued by mindless zombies. As they arrive, the two see the chaos unfolding, and Tai, eager to prove himself, dives into action.
Tai: "Time to clear this mess up. Let's go!"
(Tai battles a horde of zombies, slicing them with swift strikes. But then, a Zombie King appears.)
Zombie King: "If you want this boy, you'll have to fight me first."
Tai: "Blade of Killing Zombie!" (Tai charges, and a massive explosion rips through the ground.)
---
Tai moves quickly to the other side, eliminating zombies left and right. But as the Zombie King prepares to strike, Tai's inner demon awakens.
Tai's inner demon (Balorion): with a deep, unsettling voice "You will need me, Tai."
(Tai's body suddenly shifts, overtaken by the dark presence.)
Balorion: now a dragon-like form, a monstrous shadow overtakes Tai's body
Balorion: "I will take care of this weakling." (He uses two fingers to tear the Zombie King in half effortlessly.)
Ren: shocked "What… What just happened? Who is this?"
Balorion: laughing menacingly "I am Balorion, the Black Dread. And I will not obey you, human."
Ren: "What the hell…? Get out of Tai's body now!"
Balorion: "No one orders me, weak human." (The battle escalates as Balorion shows his dominance.)
---
Ren: desperately thinking "I have to stop him!"
Ren: summoning a powerful attack "Wind Blade, Form 48!" (The wind cuts through the air, a blinding burst of energy slams into Balorion, but it does nothing.)
Balorion: grins "Nice try, but it's useless." (He punches Ren in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him and holding him by the neck.)
Balorion: mockingly "Pathetic humans."
---
Hirsohi suddenly appears, intervening with a final, powerful strike.
Hirsohi: calmly "United Blade, Form 57." (He channels a stronger, sealed technique that weakens Balorion, forcing him into submission.)
Balorion: shocked "No… this can't be!"
(Balorion is sealed within the technique.)
---
Tai, finally regaining control of his body, collapses to the ground.
Tai: dazed "Where am I…? What just happened?"
Hirsohi: "You're in Kisdain, the place where you were trained. But what just happened… you lost yourself. That wasn't you."
Tai: struggling to comprehend "What? I lost myself?"
Ren: jokingly "Guess you still have a bit to learn, huh? I told you. You can't let your demon take control like that."
Tai: still confused "I didn't even know what happened, but... I'm still alive, right?"
Hirsohi: seriously "Yes, you're still alive, but your powers... they're dangerous. You'll have to learn to control them before they consume you."
---
Tai: looking away, still processing "That was... a lot. I didn't know I was capable of something like that."
Ren: "Well, you're learning fast, at least. But you still have a long way to go. Don't let your arrogance blind you."
Tai: smiling cockily "Is that a compliment or a threat?"
Ren: laughing "Maybe both. Who knows?"
---
Later, in private, Hirsohi and Ren discuss the situation.
Ren: "Why didn't you tell him the truth? About the demon inside him?"
Hirsohi: sighing "If I told him everything now, his will would break. He's too unstable. His body isn't ready to handle that kind of truth."
Ren: "You really think he can handle it, though?"
Hirsohi: "I think he can. But only when he learns to truly control himself... not just his power, but his mind."
---
Tai goes back to his training, determined but a little more aware of his potential dangers. He looks at his hands, feeling the weight of what happened. Ren watches from a distance, silently hoping Tai can truly master his power.
Tai (thinking to himself): "I don't know who I really am... but I'm going to figure this out. I'll become stronger... I have to."
