Chapter 632: 221, Backlash_3

Reaching this point in the conversation, Andre Morton tried to persuade Donnie, "Donnie, as a friend, I sincerely advise you that there's no need to continue the Racing Club business. Not to mention your other businesses, just the private liquor business alone can bring you countless wealth each year. So why insist on doing this?"

Andre Morton was not the first person to say this to Donnie.

But Donnie also had his own plans. Not to mention that the construction of the sports stadium had already begun, Atlantic City itself actually needed this project very much.

Atlantic City is prospering now because there are no competitors, but Donnie knew that sooner or later, Las Vegas would also legalize the gambling business.

Moreover, Las Vegas's geographical location is even more advantageous than Atlantic City's.

And then there's the future development of the city currently supporting Atlantic City, Philadelphia!

The decline of Atlantic City is like the decline of Hong Kong movies. After losing Taiwan, their biggest market, Hong Kong movies quickly entered a period of decline.

It would be the same for Atlantic City. If industries start moving out of Philadelphia in the future, it will inevitably go from being one of America's most important economic cities to a zombie city.

Then, the blue-collar workers of Philadelphia naturally wouldn't have the money to spend in Atlantic City anymore!

That's why Donnie must make Atlantic City the most attention-grabbing tourist city in America before Philadelphia declines. And if that is the case, just having the Surf Hotel wouldn't be enough.

There needs to be more entertainment projects there, only then can Atlantic City become the top travel destination for Americans!

"Andre, there's no turning back on this, what I need now are solutions!"

Donnie rejected Andre Morton's suggestion.

Andre Morton shook his head helplessly, "If that's the case, you might really have to give up the business in Kentucky!"

If Donnie wanted to give up the business in Kentucky, he wouldn't have come to Kentucky at this time.

"Andre, as a friend, I hope you can introduce me to Mr. Speaker, I want to talk to him personally about this matter!"

Donnie said.

Andre Morton said, "Of course, that's no problem, but Donnie, I believe that even if you meet him, it won't do any good!"

Donnie smiled, "One always has to try!"

"Alright then!" Andre Morton said, "I'll arrange it, and I'll call you after it's been set up!"

"Thank you!"

.

After Andre Morton left, Donnie sat waiting for Steve Cotting's return. However, at that moment, someone came to visit Donnie!

"Haha, Donnie, I didn't expect us to meet so soon!"

The visitor was named Sly Monroe, the biggest family boss in Kentucky. Donnie's most direct business partner for the private liquor business in Kentucky!

"Earlier, I had visited John's club, and it really left an unforgettable impression. If not for circumstances arising here in Kentucky, I truly would have liked to spend a good two months in Atlantic City!"

Sly Monroe said with a hearty laugh as he shook hands with Donnie.

"Mr. Monroe, you are very well-informed. I haven't been in Louisville for long and yet you already knew about it, even my hotel room!"

Donnie said calmly.

"Haha!" Sly Monroe, not minding Donnie's insinuation at all, laughed and said, "In Louisville, there's nothing that I can't find out if I wish to know it!"

Donnie asked, "So you're saying not only did you know about our private liquor getting intercepted, but you also know who did it?"

Sly Monroe's expression stiffened for a moment, then he said carelessly, "Of course I know. Actually, the person who did it was me. But don't be angry, Donnie, my men came off worse!"

Donnie smiled. This man so openly admitted his actions and still had such a light-hearted manner. Was he confident that Donnie had no way to deal with him?

Just as Donnie expected, the other party was indeed banking on that.

"Donnie, let's cut to the chase. I came here following a call from Alpha Hope. They said you want to stop our partnership with Kentucky?"

Donnie shook his head, "It's not about stopping the cooperation with Kentucky, but simply giving up the partnership with Alpha Hope. Oh, and now I should add you to that as well—you two are out!"

Sly Monroe chuckled, "Donnie, you probably don't know about our Kentucky traditions. In the private liquor business, without my and Alpha's partnership, your products won't make it into Kentucky.

Of course, I know all about your connections too. But maintaining those relationships is just about paying money, right? And right now, I happen to have plenty of that!"

Donnie asked leisurely, "So are you here to brag about this to me?"

Sly Monroe shook his head, "Of course not. I just want you to seriously consider this, Donnie. Although Kentucky might not be very friendly to your business right now, this issue is not non-negotiable. As for the Racing Club, it's none of our concern. If you can let bygones be bygones, we can still continue to work together right now!"

Donnie asked with amusement, "So you're saying your distillery hasn't been completed yet?"
