Chapter 637: 223. Cooperation with the IRS, Bureau of Investigation_3

Under the dual pressure of the IRS and the Bureau of Investigation, the law enforcement folks could only watch helplessly as their chief was taken away. By the time they reached the entrance of their headquarters, Sly Monroe's underlings wanted to take some action, but seeing the fully armed Bureau agents, they opted to just stand by and watch their boss escorted away!

The news of Alpha Hope and Sly Monroe being taken away spread through the entire Louisville overnight.

Even though there was no concrete evidence, everyone in the know understood that this was the beginning of Donnie's retaliation against the two of them!

What these people did not expect was that Donnie's connections were so influential, he immediately brought forth the formidable IRS and Bureau of Investigation!

However, both men always had their contacts, their own backers. Therefore, after they were taken away, these people wanted to meet with Donnie as soon as possible!

They had no choice but to meet. The relations they had with the two men were already abnormal. If it had been the law enforcement of their own state that took them away, everything would have been easy to handle. Whether it was fishing them out or ensuring they stayed silent forever, these people had their ways.

But now they were taken by the Bureau and the IRS, and furthermore, when they received the news, the two had already been taken to Columbus City, Ohio. Even if they wanted to act, it was impossible!

So now, they could only turn to Donnie, let go of their stance, compromise with Donnie, and ensure that the two kept their mouths shut and not leak any material related to them.

Donnie, of course, understood their intentions. Thus, this morning, Donnie held a serious talk with these people for a long time.

It lasted until noon when these people stayed at the hotel where Donnie stayed and had lunch with Donnie!

Not only them, but the Governor of Kentucky and Speaker Mr. Block also arrived at the hotel, and both parties enjoyed a pleasant lunch together.

In the afternoon, accompanied by a certain Kentucky Congressman, Donnie visited several racetracks in Louisville, where he had a cheerful conversation with the owners of the tracks. Donnie even made an on-the-spot decision to purchase the offspring of five purebred horses.

Then in the evening, it was time for the ball with those high-ranking officials of Kentucky.

The next day, Donnie and Alice took the train out of Louisville and arrived in Columbus City, Ohio, just next door.

After Donnie left Kentucky, the public opinion in the state changed drastically. All Kentucky newspapers and some racetrack owners started touting that cooperation with Atlantic City would bring earth-shattering changes to Kentucky.

This propaganda lasted for an intense three months, and during this period, Kentucky's populace was eventually swayed by the brainwashing cries.

By then, no one was protesting against the Racing Club from Atlantic City anymore. Instead, countless people were looking forward to cooperating with them.

But all that was to come later. For now, Donnie was confronting the now imprisoned Alpha Hope and Sly Monroe.

"Donnie!"

Upon seeing Donnie, the two men had very different expressions on their faces.

Sly Monroe was grinding his teeth in anger.

Alpha Hope looked utterly defeated!

"Donnie, my people will not let you get away with this. They will avenge me!" Monroe shouted loudly.

Donnie sat there, legs crossed, with a look of disdain: "Are you talking about Edmund Sheldon? If you are, I think you can give up that fantasy. He is now my new partner in Kentucky. He is probably busy taking over your assets there right now!"

Edmund Sheldon, the second-in-command of the Slimenro Organization, had voluntarily sought out Donnie and pledged his loyalty on the same day Monroe was taken away.

So, whatever code of the streets, even in America, doesn't exist.

Monroe was stunned, his face changing colors. But in the end, he clenched his teeth and said, "Don't think you can bring me down like this. I will reveal everything about you, and I will see how you manage then!"

Donnie just shook his head, unconcernedly saying, "You should learn from Alfa, you know. At a time like this, regardless of what you say, you'll only hasten your own demise. If you just listen to me, maybe you can still live!"

Alpha Hope pleaded, "Mr. Block, we lost this one, I didn't expect you would bring out Oguchi!"

By this time, Alpha Hope had come to a realization. To have the IRS and Bureau secure their evidence immediately, they needed a direct testimony from someone closely connected with them, and that person was naturally Oguchi Arth!

Donnie didn't deny it; indeed, he had retained Oguchi Arth precisely for this reason.

"Hmph, all the dealings are related to you, do you think you can escape?" Monroe continued his brainless rant.

"Enough!" This time Alpha Hope interrupted Monroe before Donnie could speak, saying, "Do you think Oguchi Arth would betray Mr. Block? Or do you think we have a chance to accuse Mr. Block in court?"
