America Tycoon: The Wolf of Showbiz

Chapter 835 You Should Be a Hero_2

For some reason, Alexandrovich suddenly thought of "Vasiliy Petrovich," the male protagonist in "Servant of the People."

Martin watched Alexandrovich leave with determination and wondered if he was awakening the village chief too soon?

But on second thought, it seemed there was no issue, "Now that I am part of America, according to their standards, I mustn't stop until the last Ukrainian is standing..."

Martin also left the conference room.

Bruce caught up from behind, inevitably curious, "It always feels like you're scheming something?"

Martin casually replied, "What do you think would happen if Kim and Damao clashed?"

Bruce said, "World War III breaking out?"

"Not that severe," Martin waved his hand. "Among the five big hooligans, a world war isn't possible unless two of them personally face off."

After thinking for a bit, Bruce asked, "If Alexandrovich becomes a Ukrainian hero, what can he do?"

Martin thought briefly, then asked, "Is it possible, like in TV dramas?"

Bruce said, "I'm not familiar with Ukraine, but judging by America's situation, he'd need a significant backer at least."

Martin said, "1+1 TV Channel belongs to the Privat Group, one of the oligarchs in Ukraine. After this, Alexandrovich might get even closer to the Privat Group."

Bruce's eyes widened, "You're not seriously hoping this comedian will become president, are you?"

Martin shrugged, "Who knows, he might be Ukraine's Reagan."

"You entering the American election would have a better chance than him," Bruce shook his head. "Why am I just realizing now that many of your ideas are crazy?"

Martin smiled and said, "America meddling in Ukraine, from Washington's perspective, is righteous."

...

Kiev Inter-State Hotel.

Lynch stood in front of the room's floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the nearby American Embassy. Hearing the door behind him, he turned to see Andre coming in and asked, "Figured out a plan?"

"First, we sort out Nicky!" Andre, having racked his brain for days, finally had an idea and put it into action. "I found one of Nicky's childhood friends from her hometown, used her to lure Nicky out, and then we'll kidnap her!"

Lynch nodded slightly, "That's one way to do it, go ahead, as quickly as possible."

Andre said, "I'll gather all the manpower there for now, to handle Nicky first."

Lynch responded, "Alright."

Andre left the room, went downstairs, got into a car, and soon arrived at another hotel. He entered a suite where the blond Leonid was chatting warmly with a brunette, making her laugh cheerfully from time to time.

During this period, Leonid had visited Nicky's hometown again. Using his handsome appearance and generous spending, he easily caught Ivanna's attention and had even deceitfully brought her to Kiev.

Andre sat on the sofa and asked, "Ivanna, about that thing we mentioned, can you help?"

Ivanna hesitated a bit, "You're not planning to do something to Nicky, are you?"

Leonid put on his most sincere face, "How could we? We just want to get back the money she owes us! Like I told you before, we were business partners, and she was in charge of some of the money, but then she took it and ran back to Ukraine. We just want to get our money back."

The wealthy, handsome man was particularly persuasive. Ivanna said, "No wonder she's been spending so lavishly since she came back. I really thought she had struck it rich."

Leonid assured, "Of course, we won't let you help for nothing."

Andre pulled out an envelope and handed it to Ivanna, "There are 2000 US dollars inside."

Ivanna quickly took it, pulled out a bill, and looked closely, "It's real US dollars!"

Andre added, "If we can get our money back, we'll give you another 2000 US dollars."

Leonid winked at Andre, who nodded in agreement, and said, "If you want to join us and make it big in America, you can do that too."

Ivanna was attracted to the legendary beacon but was a bit frightened, "I... I'll think about it."

Leonid was exceptionally friendly, "No rush, let's first make a call and arrange for Nicky to meet."

The three left the room, exited the hotel. Andre checked the time, it was after the players had finished training. They found a payphone, and Ivanna called Nicky's mobile.

The first call was a busy signal, it seemed turned off.

After a while, Ivanna reached her on the second attempt.

"Nicky, it's me, Ivanna, guess where I am?" Ivanna spoke in her usual tone: "I'm in Kiev! I arrived yesterday, came to buy some stuff."

Her voice then dipped dramatically, "Who would have thought, Kiev's security is so poor, my wallet was stolen. I only have a bit of change left, and I don't know anyone here. I just happened to see your poster for the finals, so I tried calling you. Can you lend me some money? Not much, just enough for a ticket back home!"

There were a few responses from the other side.

Ivanna listened attentively for a while, then said, "Alright, I'm free anytime, depends on your schedule. I'm currently at the Dnieper Cafe on East Fifteenth Street, they don't mind people not ordering, and the owner doesn't throw anyone out."

Nicky, trusting her childhood playmate, said, "Wait there for me, I need to ask for leave from the program before I can come over."

Ivanna responded, "Okay, I'll wait."

After hanging up, she looked at Leonid, "She agreed to come out and bring me the money."
