An Extra’s POV

Chapter 921: Spell

"ROOOOOOOAAARRRR!!!"

The Monster King let out another earth-shaking roar, its claws tearing into the ground as it began its charge.

Its first attack was a wave of black energy, arcing toward Rey like a tidal wave of death.

~WHUUSH!~

Rey's instincts screamed, and he activated [Space-Shift], blinking several feet to the side just in time to avoid being engulfed. The ground where he had stood moments ago sizzled and blackened, proof of the attack's lethality.

"That would've hurt," he muttered, his heart pounding.

The King wasn't done.

With shocking speed for its size, it lunged, its claws raking down toward him.

Rey pushed his [Physical Enhancement] to its limit, propelling himself backward and landing in a crouch. He rolled to the side as the beast slammed its massive fist into the ground, the impact sending tremors through the earth.

~BOOOOOM!~

Rey retaliated with a surge of electricity, launching an Electrical Surge toward the King.

~TZZZTTTZ!~

The lightning struck its thick scales but barely fazed the creature.

"GRRRRR…" It let out a threatening snarl, seemingly more annoyed than hurt, and opened its maw to unleash another wave of energy.

"Damn it," Rey hissed, dodging again with [Space-Shift], but the effort was starting to take its toll.

"Haa…"

His breathing was labored, and his muscles burned with fatigue.

His body bore the marks of the battle—deep cuts, bruises, and the sticky warmth of blood seeping through his torn clothes.

'It's unfortunate, but I don't have any Healing Skills.'

Level Ups didn't provide that, unfortunately.

The King was relentless, each attack growing more ferocious as if it were feeding off the fight. Rey clenched his fists, frustration building as he realized none of his current Skills could deal a decisive blow.

Then he remembered.

"Status Information." A smirk played on his bloodied lips as he summoned his Status Window.

[End Of Information]

His eyes scanned the screen, taking note of the 25 unspent Status Points he had amassed during his battles. Without hesitation, he allocated all of them to Mana, feeling an immediate surge of energy course through his body.

"It's time for a little experiment," he muttered, his smirk widening.

Whatever happened now depended on luck, but it was supposed to work in theory—at least, that was what he hoped for.

Rey reached deep into his memory, recalling a Spell he had learned on H'Trae.

It was a destructive technique for sure, but not a big deal for him at his peak. Still, considering his current situation, he knew it would be more than enough to solve this problem… if it was successful.

'Please work!'

He began the incantation, his hands moving in intricate patterns as a ball of fire began to form in front of him.

The King seemed to sense the danger and charged at him, its eyes glowing with fury.

Rey stood his ground, sweat beading on his forehead as he focused every ounce of his Mana into the Spell.

"Grand Fireball!"

The words left his lips, and the fireball erupted forward—a massive, searing orb of destruction that illuminated the battlefield in brilliant red and orange. T

~VWUUUUUM!~

The heat was intense, scorching the air around it as it streaked toward the King.

The creature tried to evade, but it was too large, too slow. The fireball struck its chest with a deafening explosion, engulfing it in flames.

~BOOOOOOOOOM!~

The force of the blast sent a shockwave rippling through the area, knocking over smaller Monsters and sending debris flying.

When the fire dissipated, nothing remained of the King but a charred crater.

"It worked… it actually worked!"

Rey stood there, panting heavily, as the glowing words [You Have Leveled Up] appeared in front of him.

A grin spread across his face despite his exhaustion.

'I partly didn't expect it to work because I'm on Earth and I wasn't sure if the theory of Magic applied here as it does for H'Trae, but apparently it does.'

This changed things for him entirely/

The remaining Monsters trembled at the sight, their confidence shattered.

Even the team watching from the ridge was speechless, their expressions a mixture of awe and disbelief.

Rey wasn't done.

His blood was pumping, and he wasn't about to leave a single one of these creatures alive.

"You're next," he said, his voice low and menacing.

He activated [Camouflage], disappearing from sight, and reappeared behind a group of Monsters with [Space-Shift], striking them down with enhanced strength.

Another group tried to flee, but Rey's [Soundwave] disoriented them, leaving them vulnerable to a stream of water from [Moist Meter], which he froze mid-air to impale them.

Some Monsters attempted to scatter in different directions, but Rey's [High Sense] allowed him to track their movements. He leapt from one target to another, his shadow binding a group as he dispatched them with electrified punches.

The last Monster let out a desperate screech and sprinted toward the edge of the battlefield.

Rey extended his shadow to trip it, closing the gap with a swift [Space-Shift] and finishing it off with a crushing stone-enhanced blow.

Thanks to his increased Stats, he was much faster and stronger, so unlike his first experience with these creatures he was far more competent—able to beat them with one or two blows if he really tried.

"Whew!"

When it was over, Rey stood amidst the corpses of dozens of Monsters, his chest heaving and his body drenched in blood and sweat. He looked up at his team on the ridge, who still hadn't moved, their shock evident even from this distance.

"Hehe… they must be quite surprised." Your journey continues on My Virtual Library Empire

He wondered what to tell them this time as an excuse for the Fireball.

'I could tell them that it's a Special Ability I copied, and I just recovered some of my memories, which explains why I'm able to use it now.' He smiled. 'But how do I explain my raised Stats?'

He could also attribute that to another Special Ability that allowed him to get stronger the more he fought.

'Honestly, it doesn't matter what excuse I give at this point.' Rey thought to himself as he saw the look in their eyes.

'They have to believe me… because I'm that strong.'
