Chapter 121: Outing (Preparations)
The past week had been very tedious for Ethan. Working as the sole leader of his year group, cultivating, travelling the beast plane, training his selected subordinates, helping Emily, Trevor and Jerry understand Blood Magic well and training with different weapons.
Currently, he sat in a sofa in his room at his mother's house. The morning sun flowed through the small gaps in the curtains, casting a golden, warm glow in the room. Harley lay on his laps in deep sleep with a content smile, her golden hair illuminated by the little sunlight in the room.
They had moved there as a farewell to her and Harley's parents. The outing was nigh, and Anbord Mage Academy wasn't the only school attending. There were other schools involved, and Harley's was also part. Besides he hadn't seen her for a long time, and he was dying to meet her, which brings us to his current situation where Harley lay on his laps with a content smile on her face. She had totally monopolized Ethan. She wore on of Ethan's hoodies which was big for her and a black sports underwear which accentuated her insane curves and bouncy butt. It was also tight around her lower parts, outlining her clit a little. If Ethan wasn't currently focused somewhere, he might've failed to control himself and ravage her on the sofa.
He absentmindedly brushed Harley's soft hair with his hand while he stared at the hovering screen in front of him. It displayed his current progress, and he could proudly say his grinding was worth it. His hard work had paid off.

'Damn! I'm really doing it.'
'Very much, kid. So, what are your plans now?' Zark asked Ethan.
'Hmm... I haven't really planned anything apart from the one against Leon. I guess I will just adapt as always. The beast plane is ten times more of here, so it should be fairly easy.' Ethan replied with a casual yet contemplative expression.
'Mm. It's good you've noticed but don't grow complacent yet. You don't know what you expect, and you can tell the future. Fate always has a way of messing with us.' Zark said with a somewhat nostalgic tone.
'Is something up?'
'No. I'm just recalling some events which led to my current situation. You aren't powerful enough to know somethings, so just forget about it. But just be prepared for anything. You would need it, so you aren't caught off-guard.'
'Mm. I understand.'
'What do you plan on doing with that many shop points?' Zark suddenly asked.
'I totally forgot about them! Can you help me buy some things?' Ethan exclaimed in his mind.
'Mm. I got nothing doing anyway.'
Ethan instantly accessed the Shop as Harley turned on his laps. Whatever dream she was having must be really good.
The appearance of the shop never ceased to amaze him.
The shop window's design was sleek and tech-advanced with intricate silver lines bordering the page. The name, "Shop System" was written in bold, blue characters with sci-fi gold designs around them. The items were arranged in compartments, namely, Weapon, Armor, Accessory and Techniques, which showcased previews of available items. The shop had also upgraded along with the full system upgrade, becoming more advanced and easier to use.
'What should I start with?' Ethan asked in his mind to Zark.
'Hmm... let's start with weapons. You would need better weapons, at least at the Pseudo-Gold tier. The old ones would become totally useless to you soon.'
'Mm. I guess you are right.' Ethan replied while selecting the weapon compartment. The selected compartment hovered a little and opened up to a variety of weapons in small compartments. Icons of the weapons with their names were on the compartments in colors of bronze, bronze-silver, silver, silver-bronze, silver-gold and gold, representing their tiers along with their names. There were different types of swords, axes, hammers, shields, spears, bows and arrows, rods, clubs, scythes, daggers, among others. These weapons also had their own section for easy maneuver.
Ethan chose the sword section and scrolled through the weapons, totally ignoring the bronze and silver colored ones. Why? Although his rank was mid of Advanced, he was almost as strong as a Gold rank beast or a Warrior level mage now. He could kill Gold rank beasts now albeit with difficulty. Gold rank beasts were totally different from Silver and Bronze ones. A good example is the Dryada he and Trevor with the assistance of Galeno fought against. It was very strong and very smart, talk about proficient in the usage of its affinity.
Even Galeno who was a Gold rank beast like it couldn't dominate it totally. Gold rank beasts were the definition of domain strength. They knew how well to use their powers.
Compared to the Gold rank beasts he'd fought these few days; the Golden Sand Basilisk was like a child. He'd brushed past death countless times. If it weren't for his race being that of an immortal one, he would've been dead by now and no one would know how or where he died. They wouldn't even know if he was dead or not, except for the system and his new best buddy, Zark.
*Oi! *
'Huh?'
*Nothing. *
Ethan scrolled downwards until he caught sight of weapon icon in silver-gold color, He wasn't planning on buying a Gold tier weapon, lest he draws unwanted attention. What he was already drawing was enough.
Its name read, "Xandros, The Crimson Cleaver", with an icon of a greatsword on it. Ethan selected, causing a small window to pop-up, showing its actual image, description and prize. It was a greatsword as shown in the icon with a rugged, earthy design. A blood-red hue ran along the edge of the blade, symbolizing its relation to the Blood affinity as stated in the description. Intricate earthy, designs engraved the spine with a sturdy, leather grip and a heavy, crescent-shaped guard resembling a mountain range.
...
•Xandros, The Crimson Cleaver (Pseudo-Gold Tier): This weapon was forged in the heart of a volcano by ancient earth mages and the Dwarf King ???, imbuing it with primal forces. Its power awakens when wielded by one with who harnesses both Blood and Earth affinities. Its actual lore is broken and faded into existence, causing it to degrade to its current level.
Skills: Xandros possesses four abilities;
1. Bloodlust: +20% damage when wielder's health falls below 50%
2. Terra Firma: Grants stability, reducing knockback by 30%
3. Earthshatter: Unleashes a shockwave (10-yard radius) on impact, stunning opponents for 2 seconds. (Cooldown: 30 seconds)
4. Blood and Stone: Passively absorbs 5% of damage dealt as health.
Requirements To Wield:
1. Strength: 120+
2. Blood affinity: Advanced level
3. Earth affinity: Advanced level
Prize: 3000 sp
...
Ethan couldn't believe what he was reading. This was a pseudo-gold tier weapon! It was more than perfect for him. He had the Earth affinity; his Blood Magic was also more than just an affinity and could suffice and his current strength was more than enough to wield it. It was like it was tailor-made for him and him alone. Its skills were also powerful, making him wonder what its actual tier was and what skills it had in that tier. It was unfortunate that its lore was broken and destroyed.
Anyway, he selected the cart icon close to the weapon name to add to his cart. The system was really living up to its name.
*I can sense you praising me. Feel free to praise me more! *
'I don't know what you are talking about.'
*Bitch! *
'...'
Ever since he used that style to kill the basilisk, he had fallen in love with swords, preferably, huge swords like this greatsword. It earned him the Elemental Weaponry ability which gave him the ability to create any weapon with his affinities and use them. It was very good and powerful, but it used too much energy and mana, so he saved it only as a last resort. It also had a link to his Weapons' Constitution in the sense that, any weapon he created with it and used would be registered in his constitution as a weapon he's started using.
Getting back to it, Ethan closed the sword section and selected his first love, the Warhammer section. He had missed his old buddy a lot and he wanted a replacement for it. He missed the sensation of bashing and pounding beasts left and right like a baseball player.
Very soon, he saw one in silver-gold characters and icon.
...
•Psykron (Pseudo-Gold Tier): In the forgotten city of Eldrador, the ancient telekinetic warriors crafted Psykron. This mighty Warhammer focused their psychic energies, amplifying strength and willpower. The creators of Psykron vanished with time but not without leaving behind their legacies which Psykron holds. It is just a myth though...
Skills:
1. Telekinetic Blast: Unleashes psychic energy (15-yard radius), stunning enemies (2 seconds, cooldown: 45 seconds)
2. Psychic Grip: Increases stun duration by 50%
3. Mind Crush: Deals bonus damage (20%) to stunned targets
Requirements To Wield:
1. Strength: 140
2. Telekinesis affinity: Advanced
Prize: 3000 sp
...
Looking at the image of the weapons, he couldn't help but be amazed. It had a long black handle with blue patterns around it and a heavy metallic silver head with blue psychic engravings.
'I'm not far from 140 strength, might as well buy it.' Ethan thought.
'Good decision, kid. I would suggest you get a dagger and a new armor to integrate into your energy suit.'
'I was thinking of that too.'
Very soon, Ethan got the mentioned items.
•Crimson Stinger (Silver Tier), 1000 sp.
•Magmadrake Armor (Pseudo-Gold Tier), 3000 sp.
•Voidstrike (Pseudo-Gold Tier), 3000 sp.
The first was a dagger with a long blade, a blood-red edge and a black handle with red gemstones in it. Its skills were related to the Blood affinity.
The second was a sleek grey armor with heavy, earthy plates designed with fiery accents, related to Fire and Earth. Its skills were also heavy and powerful. The last one was a dark black spear with a slim shaft and a crystal tip emitting ethereal energy. Small, glowing portal-like patterns adorned the middle of its rod. It was also related to the Teleportation affinity.
Ethan selected purchase, bringing his shop points to 7000. He planned to grind more so that he could purchase some things for his subordinates too, but for now, he would be saving the current points.
...
As he sat in his sofa, basking in the afterglow of his purchase, trying not to smile in excitement and anticipation and enjoying the soft body of Harley on his laps, he heard a bang on his door. He turned just in time to see a long red spear hurtling towards him with insane speed which was even hard to follow with all his senses.
Time seemed to stop as a third eye opened on his forehead with a serpentine gaze. The spear moved in slow motion towards him as his senses were enhanced by the Psyche-Eye. He swiftly moved to the side while encasing his hands in a gauntlet of earth. He quickly caught the spear by its shaft, halting its movement with difficulty.
In fact, it was still moving causing him to grit his teeth and grip it with all his strength. He used Telekinesis to lift the disgruntled Harley from his laps on to the bed while reinforcing his gauntlet which was starting to turn into sand. He also added his Telekinesis, putting it at the tip of the spear to block it as he gripped it with all his strength. His muscles tensed and bulged, threatening to tear out of his shirt.
His eyes glowed as he finally managed to stop the spear entirely.
"Good! You managed to stop 1% of my strength throw with the spear. Very good." an all-familiar voice resounded from the doorway making Ethan turn in shock to see his mom standing there in her pajamas.
"1%?!"
