Chapter 9: Chapter 133 - Kiss
I swear by the King of Serpents!
Keifer stole another kiss from me—right in front of Yuri! Those useless snakes just stood there, making fun of us.
So annoying!
"Yuri..." I called out to him.
I hadn't noticed it earlier, but he was clearly upset about what Keifer had done.
Typical!
"Hmm?" He barely glanced at me before focusing back on the notes in front of him.
"Hey..." I tried again. "Why are you ignoring me?"
"Because we're studying."
"Really? Then why before—"
"Ms. Mariano, do you have something to share with the class?" the teacher suddenly interrupted.
I quickly shook my head and adjusted my seat. Great! Now I got scolded. All because Yuri was ignoring me.
I stole another glance at him. He let out a sigh as he arranged his notes.
I wanted to ask him again, but I didn't want to risk another scolding from the teacher. I glanced at my notes—completely covered in doodles. Of course, I hadn't written anything down because I wasn't paying attention.
I grabbed a piece of paper and scribbled a note:
"Because it's Yuri!"
Folding it quickly, I passed it to him.
At first, he hesitated, raising an eyebrow before finally unfolding the note. After a brief glance, he scribbled something and tossed it back to me.
"Please! Pay attention to our lesson, not me."
Touché!
Ouch. That stung. It hit me right in the pride. Fine! Feeling embarrassed, I crumpled the paper and shoved it into my bag.
I turned to face the board, keeping my head down. Annoying! I put in the effort, and he just shut me down.
Suddenly, a piece of paper landed on my desk.
I knew it was from Yuri, so I ignored it. Pay attention to the lesson, right? Fine, let's do that then!
But then, another one followed. I glanced at him, but he acted innocent, so I left the paper untouched.
And then another. And another.
Frustrated, I finally grabbed all the papers he had thrown and slammed them onto his desk in irritation.
"Ms. Mariano! If you have no intention of listening, you may leave the class!" the teacher scolded me sharply.
Oh, for crying out loud…
"B-but Ma'am—"
"OUT!" she cut me off before I could finish.
I had no choice but to stand up. As I walked out, I shot a glare at Yuri. That arrogant king! With my head down, I left the room, but out of the corner of my eye, I caught Ci-N laughing at me.
What a child!
This Ci-N! You will be back to home!
Outside, I headed straight to the side of the building, finding a quiet spot where no one could see me. I had nowhere else to go, thanks to Yuri!
I sat on the same bench we had been on earlier. Suddenly, I remembered—this was the place where Yuri first kissed me.
Oh no!
I kept getting irritated every time I thought about it. Ugh, so annoying! This was all his fault. If he hadn't bombarded me with those stupid paper notes, I wouldn't have been kicked out of class and listening to the lectures.
Not that I was actually paying attention anyway… Damn It!
"Boring..." I muttered to myself.
"I'm sorry..."
"Oh, crap!" I shrieked in surprise.
I wasn't expecting anyone to be here! My heart nearly jumped out of my chest as I turned to see who had startled me.
Laughter filled the air.
"Hahahahaha..."
Keep laughing! keep laughing you Yuri!
"Are you happy." I asked him annoyed.
He walked over and sat next to me, still looking at me.
Annoying!
"Sorry for getting you kicked out because of me," he said.
"Can your sorry change anything? I'm already outside!" I huffed.
He lowered his head and rubbed the back of his neck. Maybe I was being too harsh, but I couldn't help it—I was annoyed.
Trying to change the topic, I asked, "Why are you here?"
"I wanted to apologize… and keep you company."
I raised an eyebrow. Keep me company? What is he, an addict? Does he actually want to share in the embarrassment I just went through?
"You've got a weird way of thinking, huh? 'Keep me company'—seriously?"
He let out a small laugh. "Because I know it was my fault you got kicked out. It wouldn't feel right if I stayed inside while you suffered alone out here."
That explanation caught me off guard.
"Then why were you ignoring me in class?!" I demanded.
He let out a deep sigh, sitting up straighter. He hesitated, scratching his head a few times before finally muttering, almost under his breath—
Not Yet?
"B-because I was jealous…"
I froze. So, I was right about what I suspected earlier.
"...I know you never admit that you love me, but I can't help it. I'm in love with you, and I can't control my jealousy," he added.
I bit my lower lip. This is exactly what I was afraid of! I knew this conversation was bound to happen sooner or later.
"...I'm your fiancé, yet I feel like I have to compete for your attention," he said, and to my shock, a tear slipped from his right eye.
I was at a loss. I wanted to wipe his tears, to tell him to stop talking, but I couldn't move. It felt awkward—if he kept going like this… Ugh!
"...I shouldn't be making demands on you because, after all—"
I didn't let him finish. I knew this day would come—when he would finally voice his frustrations about Keifer. I hadn't even thought about how I would respond when it happened.
I had already committed to this engagement, and in some way, I felt responsible. That responsibility included making him feel that I was giving him a fair chance to prove his love.
And I was ready to prove something too.
I stopped him in the only way I knew wouldn't seem harsh.
I kissed him…
I had no idea how long my lips lingered on his. I could feel my heart pounding fast and hard, the heat rushing to my cheeks.
When I finally pulled away, I opened my eyes, waiting for him to say something.
But that's it… Wow, my brain just shut down completely!
His face was flushed red, and he looked like he was struggling to breathe. I didn't know what to say—I was embarrassed by what I had just done.
"J-Jay..." he called my name.
I waited for him to continue, but I couldn't bring myself to meet his eyes for long.
"Jay... You idiot! You stole a kiss from me!" he accused, making my eyebrows knit together.
The audacity! Shameless Man!
I smacked his arm hard in response. He suddenly burst into loud laughter, which only made me more annoyed.
"You're unbelievable!" I shouted at him.
"Just kidding..." he said, making me pause.
I bit my lower lip, my embarrassment growing by the second. Ugh! this is so awkward!
I glanced at Yuri, noticing the way he was biting his lip while smiling.
"Jay-jay..." he called me again. "...Can I have one more?"
I shot him a glare. Is he serious?!
He is crazy!
"Now you're being abusive ! I'll really hit you this time!" I warned, but he just kept laughing.
"Because... Damn! That was amazing, Almost got thrilled!."
Hearing him say that caught me off guard, and I couldn't help but laugh. It sounded so funny coming from him.
"This is embarrassing..." he muttered, covering his face with his hands.
I kept laughing at him. Neither of us could look at each other out of embarrassment, and we just kept laughing.
We stayed like that for a few minutes before finally regaining our courage.
"Let's go back… Ma'am has already left," I said.
He nodded, and we both stood up. I was about to walk away when he suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me close. He wrapped me in a tight hug. ❤️
"Y-Yuri..."
"Ssshhh… Just let me have this moment," he whispered, making me stop.
"...You have no idea how happy I am right now. It was just a simple kiss, but it meant everything to me," he said before kissing my forehead. "...Thank you, Jay!" ❤️🥺
Did I do the right thing?!
Something felt off. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but there was this nagging feeling that I had done something wrong.
I gently pulled away and held his hand. "Come on..."
But then, I let go, making him stop in his tracks.
"I-I'll stay here a bit… Just to check if Ma'am is really gone."
He smiled and nodded before walking away. As soon as he was out of sight, I took a deep breath, lost in thought.
Why do I feel like this? What am I supposed to do? Did I make a mistake?
"Jay! Ma'am's gone!" Yuri called from a distance.
"I'll be right there!" I shouted back.
I quickly stood up and started walking back to the room, but before I could even reach the building, someone suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me behind the room.
I hadn't planned on coming back here—it was cramped, and there was more trash compared to the front of the building.
My back hit the wall, and that's when I saw who it was. His eyes burned with anger, and an unfamiliar fear crept over me.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Keifer demanded furiously.
"W-what's your problem again—"
"ANSWER ME! DAMN IT!" he shouted, his voice tightening my chest.
I couldn't even hide or deny my fear. My knees felt weak, almost giving out beneath me.
"W-why?!" I asked, my voice shaking as tears welled up in my eyes.
He gripped my jaw firmly with one hand. 💔
"I-it hurts!" I whimpered, struggling against his hold.
He leaned in closer, his voice a low threat. "I told you… You're mine. If you ever do what you did with Yuri again, you'll regret it."
With that, he finally let me go and walked away.
I collapsed onto the floor, my entire body trembling. The fear was overwhelming. I never wanted to see him like that again.
I couldn't shake the thought—he reminded me of brother Angelo's anger.
W-why was he like that?!
