Anime Collector: Starting With the Malevolent Shrine

Chapter 110: Chapter 110 ⟴ The Inspector General's Fury

Shock flashed through Daiki's pupils. The reward from the Curse Devil Collection had surprised even him.

Curse Technique: Seven Nails of Damnation!

{T/N: Changed the name to Curse so it wouldn't be confused with the Cursed Techniques from Jujutsu Kaisen.}

It functioned like a special killing move governed by rules. The only requirements were knowing the cursed person's true name and face.

When Daiki activated this ability, a straw doll would form automatically. The doll required worship three times daily for twenty-one consecutive days, after which it would become identical to the target.

Any damage inflicted on the doll using arrow-type abilities or weapons would transfer directly to the real person.

The most remarkable aspect of this Curse Technique was its ability to bypass both spatial and physical defenses. It could strike the target from above, regardless of distance.

Even if the target possessed skin of bronze and bones of iron, these defenses wouldn't protect them from the doll's effects.

'Incredible. Though it has two limitations — the long activation time and needing the target's true name and face.' Daiki mused.

The twenty-one-day requirement made it impractical for direct combat. Additionally, the name and face requirements could prevent activation entirely.

The first limitation was straightforward — an enemy could strike before the curse took effect. The second posed problems with beings like Kenjaku or Tengen — they knew the true name, but who could know their original face from a thousand years ago?

Daiki could only picture Suguru's face. Merely imagining that brain wouldn't suffice to activate the Curse Technique.

'By the way, has this world ever given birth to Campione? According to Mei's information about the Mage Associations, they must have existed. They've all vanished now for unknown reasons. I wonder if those Campione in my memories have changed. Marquis Voban, Black Prince, Doni... what were their full names again?'

With his current power, he stood no chance against them. These Campione wielded abilities that made ordinary people despair.

If the world hadn't changed, Daiki wouldn't need to worry. But with its transformation, who knew when they might return?

For safety's sake, he decided to worship them all one by one. It would waste time but cause no harm.

Collecting his thoughts, Daiki looked again at the vacant-eyed Naoya.

"Since you've chosen to submit, what are you still hesitating for?"

The cold words and gaze made the blood-covered Naoya tremble in fear.

Daiki's gaze turned to the corner, and Mai awkwardly stepped out.

She raised both hands and said, "Senior, I came to give you information."

Naoya's eyes widened as overwhelming fury surged through his heart.

He had led the Zen'in family's Kukuru Unit here with great effort to execute judgment, only to discover a traitor within their own ranks.

No wonder Daiki had ambushed them at the train station platform.

"I know, otherwise you'd be dead already."

Hearing Daiki's words, Mai shuddered. She noticed crows perched on every surrounding tree branch.

'That's a killing technique using crows' lives as bindings, isn't it?'

She recalled her teacher Utahime Iori's words at Kyoto Jujutsu High, where she had mentioned a senior developing a similar ability.

Mai was stunned to see this technique here — even more surprising was how perfectly it matched Utahime's description.

Could Daiki really possess two Innate Techniques?

"Thank you, Senior! Are you heading to the Jujutsu Headquarters? Forgive my concern, but they have countless Jujutsu Sorcerers. Isn't going alone too dangerous?"

As the saying goes, enough ants can kill an elephant.

The Headquarters could mobilize numerous Jujutsu Sorcerers, and with their contracted Devils and other resources, victory seemed unlikely.

"Rest assured, I have everything well in hand." Daiki stated with unwavering certainty, his steady gaze brooking no further discussion.

His cold eyes turned to the other Zen'in.

Sensing the chill, Naoya quickly said, "Kyoto — the Headquarters is in Kyoto, where many Jujutsu Sorcerers are stationed."

Mai felt satisfaction seeing his miserable state.

Yet her true target for revenge wasn't Naoya, but the family that had treated her and her sister as disposable pawns.

With her current power, did she have any right to seek such revenge?

The answer was... absolutely not.

The Zen'in family's combat organization consisted of Semi-Grade 1 Sorcerers — the elite of the Jujutsu World!

She was still only a Grade 3 Sorcerer, separated from them by an insurmountable gap!

For revenge, she could only rely on Daiki's power!

But he wasn't her puppet — how could she expect him to simply do her bidding?

"Senior, take me with you! I can help!"

"Oh? Are you sure you won't be a burden?"

Mai's excitement instantly deflated.

Indeed, with her power, she couldn't help at all. If she hadn't secretly informed him, their paths might never have crossed again.

"Senior! I... I want revenge on the Zen'in family... at any cost... I'm willing!"

Naoya stared at Mai in disbelief.

What had the Zen'in family done to provoke such hatred from this woman? Could anything justify seeking revenge against the entire clan?

What terrified and enraged him more was that Daiki raised his hand and transported her away.

"Any cost?" His fingertip lifted her chin.

"Wait — at least until we take revenge on the Zen'in family..."

Before she could finish speaking, Daiki withdrew his hand with disinterest. With a wave, he vanished through the Spatial Transference technique.

Mai's face turned pale as she finally grasped the vast gulf between their positions.

Meanwhile, Daiki had already transported Naoya directly to Kyoto.

Thousands of crows mysteriously perched across Kyoto's streets. With Naoya in tow, he strode toward the Jujutsu Headquarters.

The Jujutsu Sorcerers monitoring Kyoto immediately reported this ominous sight. Upon receiving the news, the Headquarters erupted in fury.

"How dare he march into Kyoto so brazenly! He's heading straight for Headquarters! What is he thinking?!"

The Jujutsu Inspector General's thunderous voice made the other higher-ups quake. None had ever witnessed such rage from him before.

The reports showed Naoya, his severed arm making him a pitiful sight. The Inspector General's eyes turned glacial — he hadn't shown such anger in years.

The Jujutsu Headquarters was no ordinary place — it was the supreme authority commanding all Jujutsu Sorcerers!

Not only had this wanted criminal refused to flee, but he dared to challenge them directly?

Even the mighty Suguru Geto had retreated when facing the Headquarters. Yet this upstart Jujutsu Sorcerer had the audacity to rebel.

Would this not tarnish his legacy as the Jujutsu Inspector General?

Never in history had any Inspector General faced such brazen defiance.

"Mobilize every Jujutsu Sorcerer in Kyoto — surround and eliminate him!" Despite his fury, the Inspector General maintained his composure.

Naoya Zen'in's defeat proved that Daiki Tsukasa possessed Special Grade power.

He couldn't be taken lightly!

But if he believed a Special Grade Sorcerer could rampage through Kyoto unchecked... He would learn the price of such arrogance.
