Anomaly: Birth of the Strangest Demon Lord

Chapter 8: Does a Demon Lord need Smartphone?

Outside the Diamond City;

"Sir Demon Lord, we have found a perfect mansion for your stay. Here is your Superhero Certificate. This is a special badge made by the top blacksmiths."

"This badge can represent your superhero identity." Bulk stood in front of Alan and presented the badge and certificate with both hands.

Alan took them, put the certificate inside his inventory, and wore the badge on his chest.

While watching the badge, Bulk couldn't help but feel in awe.

'I can't even feel his power anymore. At least, I could feel some kind of pressure from him before. But now, I can feel nothing. He must have hidden it.'

Alan was completely oblivious of Bulk's thought; instead, he looked at Bulk's group in surprise.

"If I remember correctly, there were seven of you, right? Why are there only six now?"

Maybe it was because the only person missing was a lady, he couldn't help but mention her.

After all, he was a completely normal person with a family, friends, girlfriend, exes, job, colleagues, and a proper career before he inexplicably appeared in this world.

Thinking about it, he couldn't help but be desperate.

For three years, he had no one except his trusty AI in his System to talk to. If he hadn't used his Omniscient to create highly intelligent AI that could be faster than a Quantum computer while still having creativity like humans.

If he didn't even have that, he would've gone mad because of all that loneliness.

That's why he couldn't wait to enter the human world and feel that emotion once again.

Of course, he wouldn't forget that he was no longer human. He was ready to face humanity in a battle at any moment.

That's why he was so surprised by their attitude.

Because instead of fighting him, they were trying to please him. From a normal perspective, he could understand them.

After all, humanity was in a difficult situation and needed someone powerful to back them up.

He fits that position perfectly well.

But the problem was that he had read too many superhero comics from the twenty-first century. He knew these people would betray him without much thought once they gained enough power.

The reason was very simple.

He wasn't a part of them. Humans were a curious race that wanted control of everything. That's why Science was such a big part of humanity.

Science allowed humans to understand nature and control it.

So, as soon as they showed such an attitude, Alan was more than ready for the betrayal.

But until then, he would do his best to play with them.

After all, he was the Demon Lord.

Alan suppressed his thoughts and listened to Bulk's explanation as they moved inside the city.

"Sir Demon Lord, Mia has left our group and joined you. She believed that by following you, she could reach higher heights. We didn't want to stop her, so we let them be your Head Maid."

Bulk explained politely.

Alan blinked his eyes in surprise. But then he thought about it and realized the situation.

When he saw them, he instantly used his system to identify those people. He knew that the girl was over fifty years ago for some reason.

But he didn't understand why this would make her join him, especially when her age was a result of some kind of lifespan consumption.

That meant she reached her current strength by the age of twenty.

"But why? Except for her lifespan problem, she has no reason to join me. Or, is it some kind of undercover mission from you guys?"

Bulk hurriedly shook his head and said.

"No, Sir Demon Lord, Sir Leon had already told us not to use such a despicable tactic against you. It's just that she can no longer improve her strength unless she gets a fruitful encounter."

Alan looked surprised as he asked.

"Does lifespan have something to do with your talent? I thought it was only related to your improvement. "

"Yes, Sir Demon Lord! There are a hundred cycles of tempering in just the Bone Stage. As we grow further, the total cycles increase from thousands to tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands and even millions."

"It just keeps increasing. Every single cycle brings a new vitality to our cells, strengthening them from the source. But this also makes them harder to strengthen in the future."

"From the age of fifteen to fifty is the golden age for improvement. Those who can reach Golden Rank within the age of fifty have a possibility of reaching Platinum rank."

"Those who can reach Golden Rank within the age of a hundred only have the possibility of reaching Diamond Rank. Even though the lifespan of a Golden Rank is over five hundred."

"So, you can understand the situation, Sir Demon Lord. As she has already reached over fifty, she doesn't even have the possibility of reaching Bronze Rank without any fruitful encounter."

"And your appearance was just what she needed. And, we are not wrong. After all, you have already done it."

When he said that, his eyes fell on those kids following Alan. These kids were just mortals, some with no talent to become superheroes, but now, all of them have reached Bone Rank.

It hadn't even been more than an hour since they left. Within just an hour, they had already reached Bone Rank. If this wasn't a blessing of the Demon Lord, then he didn't know what it was.

For a moment, even he wanted to become a faithful servant of the Demon Lord. Maybe he could reach a Golden Rank in the future.

When this thought appeared in his heart, he couldn't help but ask.

"Sir Demon Lord, do you accept anyone to join you?"

Alan immediately understood what he meant and gave him a meaningful look before shaking his head.

"No! I only choose those who have a destiny with me. But what decides the destiny is me."

Alan gave him a grin as he continued.

"Because I am Destiny."

When he saw that grin, Bulk heavily gulped. Despite not feeling any kind of power from him, he wouldn't be stupid enough to underestimate the Demon Lord.

But he was quite regretful that he didn't choose to be the Demon Lord's butler. He still chose to continue his normal superhero job with his group.

As they walked towards the center of the city, Alan noticed a statue. It was a gigantic statue of a man.

"Who is he?"

Alan curiously asked.

Bulk showed a look of fanaticism as he replied.

"Sir Demon Lord, this is the first and the greatest superhero of all time. He was the one who saved humanity from the brink of extinction."

"He was also the first one to mutate and awaken a Spatial ability that opened a whole new dimension for him. This gave him a chance to save humans while the Earth was being terraformed."

"He died fighting the greatest invasion humanity had faced after the Shadow Aliens. It was also the greatest war that took the lives of thousands of super-powered beings."

"At that time, they were not called superheroes, but after his heroic sacrifice and everything he did for humanity, he was praised as the First Superhero. Soon, more and more people began to call themselves superheroes."

"This caused the Three Rainbow Rank Superheroes to establish the Superhero Association."

Hearing that, Alan showed a look of curiosity.

Because he didn't expect one person to save humanity and help them thrive to this stage.

When he entered the earth, he sensed over hundreds of millions of humans living in this world.

"Bulk, I am getting very curious about your planet's history. Send some history books to my mansion. By the way, I didn't find any satellites. Does Earth have no internet?"

"We do have it. We managed to save some of the technology from the past, and since we had many references from seven hundred years ago, we managed to recreate most of the technology."

"It's just that we have changed many things. Since invasions are almost regular, it is very easy to destroy infrastructure, buildings, and signal towers. So, we have been using a different source on the internet."

While saying so, Bulk took out a rectangular device, which made Alan's eyes light up.

'This looks exactly like a smartphone.'

"Sir Demon Lord, I am not sure if you know this. It is called a Smartphone."

"I know. I know. Buy one for me and send it to the mansion. By the way, connect it to the internet."

Bulk nodded and shook his head.

"Sir Demon Lord, Smartphones are a special part of a superhero. There are special apps to track invasions, buy resources, and even participate in a virtual training room."

"Thus, it is required to have your identification before buying it. We need your blood sample and your rank badge. We already have your rank badge. We just need your blood sample."
