Aozaki Aoko Case File

Chapter 393: Aozaki Aoko Case File [391]

After Muryan led the Winged Clan fairy to retreat to Camelot, with some guidance from Morgan, she gradually stabilized her mental state.

Muryan's hatred for the Fang Clan was rather abstract—she didn't hate any particular individual, but was filled with resentment for the concept of "Fang Clan fairy."

When she learned that the Fang Clan fairy in Manchester had been killed for rebelling against Bhargest, Muryan mercilessly mocked those Fang Clan fairy.

She felt no animosity toward Bharghest or Wryneck; in fact, Wryneck had once helped Muryan's people resist the Fang Clan's pursuit, so Hero Wryneck was held in high regard by the Winged Clan. This was also because Wryneck had essentially severed ties with the Fang Clan.

As for Barghest, she was sent by Morgan as a knight to suppress the remaining Fang Clan, so Muryan had even less reason to hate her. Thus, the few remaining members of the Winged Clan had no complaints about joining Morgan, and since they had survived this long, it was clear they weren't the reckless, childish type among fairies.

This remaining Winged fairy had been through many hardships, and their current state was quite poor. Or rather, apart from the particularly powerful fairy, the accumulated curses over Britain had brought ordinary fairy to the brink of mental collapse, ready to turn into Moss at any moment.

To preserve this highly useful Winged fairy, Aoko opened her Ark World and placed Muryan and the rest in a newly created town within it.

Interestingly, Aoko recently discovered that the space inside her Ark World had inexplicably expanded. After careful research, she realized this was likely due to the influx of fairies.

As embodiments and extensions of the planet and nature, what happens when fairies are cut off from their original world? The answer: they subconsciously seek a new nature to connect to. Now, the only available nature was the Ark World, transformed from the Principle Blood Ring in Aoko's possession.

But compared to Earth or Britain, the Ark World's ecosystem was far too young. Thus, the fairy, acting on their nature, unconsciously nourished the world, causing it to expand.

However, Muryan and the others were still fairies who hadn't passed the test. Aoko remained vigilant against them, in case they lashed out at weaker fairies in the Ark World. Using her authority as the owner of the Principle Blood Ring, Aoko set a series of world laws—including one forbidding wanton harm to others.

While Aoko and Morgan handled the refugee crisis and prepared to face Cernunnos, Chaldea's Dimensional Drill Ship had also finished repairs.

"Captain! All equipment in the engine room is repaired, and the power system is online!" Engineer Nemo reported through the comm to the still-weak Captain Nemo.

"Understood!" Captain Nemo, reinvigorated, gave the order: "The Dimensional Drill Ship is about to launch again—all departments, prepare for takeoff!"

"Aye aye, Captain!"

Everyone, including new Chaldea director Goredolf Musik, took their posts. Even Holmes, still looking ill, dragged himself to the bridge to observe.

"Advisor? Are you alright?" Goredolf, startled to see Holmes, hurried over.

"Though I still can't move freely… I can't afford to slack off now," Holmes replied with a faint smile. "Judging from current signs, even in Fairy Britain, the world's destruction is less than 24 hours away."

"Wh-what do we do?!" Goredolf asked in a panic. But, having faced many Lostbelts, he wasn't completely lost.

"I saw Da Vinci-chan's message," Holmes said. "It seems this world's structure is very different from what we expected. What we thought was the enemy, Lostbelt King Morgan le Fay, is the ally we should unite with."

"So, first priority: head to Camelot and assess the situation. Both this world and ours face grave trouble."

With a roar, Chaldea's Dimensional Drill Ship launched once more, heading for the heart of Fairy Britain—Camelot. But everyone on board was stunned to find that what was once a thriving, vibrant Fairy Britain was now overrun with shadowy Moss.

Elsewhere, in Edinburgh—the largest city in northern Britain, ruled by Queen Cnoc na Riabh—the flames of battle were everywhere. The Queen's troops rigorously held off the ever-encroaching Moss army.

Cnoc na Riabh herself sat at the front, still wielding half her peak power, and was not about to be overwhelmed by such an enemy. She appeared calm and collected.

Furthermore, after the traitors among the fairies who opposed her rule had fled, the remaining fairies were united as never before. No matter what orders Cnoc na Riabh gave, they were executed immediately. Sacrifices continued, but the northern fairy was confident of victory.

With each Moss assault, Cnoc na Riabh's lines gradually contracted. This was not a good sign, but she maintained a composed exterior. Still, she sensed that this was what Morgan meant when she'd said, "The time has come."

When a massive curse entity—formed from countless Moss—charged at Cnoc na Riabh's position, Camelot's reinforcements finally arrived.

Melusine descended from the sky, as sharp and deadly as a sword, cleaving the five-story-tall Moss entity in two with a single blow.

At this moment, even the proud Royal Clan's elite guards were awestruck. That beautiful, solitary figure walked towards Cnoc na Riabh —undoubtedly the strongest, the only Dragon Fairy in Britain.

"I bring news from Her Majesty Queen Morgan," Melusine said coolly. "The appointed time has come. It's time to face our common enemy together."
