Zheng Bo arrived at the supermarket's back door. Facing the tightly locked iron gate, he pulled out a crowbar from his space. Holding it, Zheng Bo prepared to pry open the door. Just as he was about to act, Zheng Bo suddenly paused. He was unsure if this would alert the security guards on duty inside the supermarket. So, Zheng Bo put the crowbar back and began to circle the back door.
Soon, Zheng Bo made a new discovery: he found a ventilation window not far from the back door. Zheng Bo quickly went to the window's base and retrieved a ladder from his space. This ladder belonged to the warehouse center where Zheng Bo worked; he had casually tucked it into his space back then, never expecting it to come in handy today. Using the ladder, Zheng Bo smoothly climbed into the window. Inside was exactly the supermarket's warehouse. Zheng Bo looked at the piles of various goods, so excited he almost shouted.
He stored the ladder back into his space, then lowered it from inside the warehouse. Zheng Bo slowly descended the ladder into the warehouse. Since the warehouse was pitch black, Zheng Bo carefully glanced around. Seeing no one, he began frantically collecting the supplies before him. Just as Zheng Bo finished collecting one pile and was about to rush to the next, the large inner door of the warehouse, which led to the supermarket's interior, suddenly opened. The entire warehouse instantly lit up as several security guards, bundled in thick coats and holding anti-riot forks, walked in.
At this moment, Zheng Bo stood frozen in place, and the security guards were momentarily stunned.
"Damn it! A thief!"
"Catch him!"
With a roar from the leading guard, the security guards swiftly rushed towards Zheng Bo. Zheng Bo immediately panicked, frantically running towards the window. At this moment, only one thought filled Zheng Bo's mind: I absolutely cannot be caught, or I'm finished. Perhaps facing desperation, Zheng Bo's slightly plump body suddenly erupted with astonishing potential; his speed became incredibly fast.
Soon, Zheng Bo reached the bottom of the window. He quickly climbed the ladder towards the opening. As he rapidly squeezed his upper body out the window, just when Zheng Bo was celebrating his imminent escape, "Ah!!!" A sharp pain, mixed with a strange sensation, shot through his backside. Zheng Bo looked back and saw a security guard vigorously poking his plump rear with an anti-riot fork. Zheng Bo endured the intense pain and the strong, bizarre feeling, then thrust his body forward, dropping directly onto the snow outside the window.
Falling onto the snow, Zheng Bo no longer cared about the pain in his backside. He rolled and scrambled, dashing towards his intended direction. Fortunately, due to the extreme weather, the supermarket security guards didn't pursue him, or Zheng Bo would surely have been caught.
After finally making it back home, Zheng Bo collapsed onto the floor as soon as he entered. After a long while, he slowly recovered and painfully crawled to his feet. The pain in his backside was unbearable. Zheng Bo pulled down his pants and cursed loudly as he looked in the mirror. Those security guards had been utterly ruthless; Zheng Bo's backside was now a bloody mess and throbbing with pain. Seeing the continuous bleeding, Zheng Bo was at a loss for what to do. He needed to stop the bleeding, but he had no hemostatic supplies at home.
Sometimes, one has to admire a person's imagination when pushed to the brink. Zheng Bo took out several sanitary pads from his space, directly applied them to his buttocks and groin, then put on a diaper over them. This served as a makeshift bandage.
After doing all this, Zheng Bo tried to sit down but found he couldn't; his butt hurt too much. So, he poured himself a glass of hot water to calm down. Then, he simply lay flat on the floor. Zheng Bo had already covered his apartment's floor and walls with sanitary pads, making it somewhat soft.
Lying on the floor, Zheng Bo began to rummage through his space, checking the spoils of his suffering.
Instant noodles!
Sausages?
Bottled water?
Packaged bread?
Dried ribbonfish?
Lollipops?
Zheng Bo was going crazy. He had endured such immense suffering, only to retrieve these items again. What kind of luck was this? Was he destined to be entangled with instant noodles and sausages? Even in a random pile of things he collected, these items appeared. Zheng Bo suddenly felt a pang in his chest; he was quite upset.
After half a day, Zheng Bo finally recovered. At this moment, his expression was despondent. Why am I, a reborn one, so unlucky? With the advantage of foresight, I've ended up like this.
Zheng Bo lay there blankly for a long time. Finally, he slowly stood up, a glimmer of determination returning to his eyes. Although he hadn't gotten anything great, at least it was food, and in considerable quantity. What's more, this time he also got dried ribbonfish and lollipops, which wasn't bad. He believed that in a month, when everyone's food was scarce, his current holdings would become incredibly precious. Zheng Bo believed in himself; he would eventually achieve his goals.
Zheng Bo regained his confidence.
Morning!
Zhao Yan woke up and gently moved Lin Qing'er's long leg, which was draped over him while she was still sound asleep. He then hopped out of bed. After a quick wash, Zhao Yan, as usual, signed in. 3 points were acquired. Adding those to his previous balance, Zhao Yan now had 12 points.
Zhao Yan first checked his attributes, then immediately allocated 5 points to Agility and another 5 points to Vitality. This updated Zhao Yan's attributes to:
[Host: Zhao Yan, Gender: Male, Age: 72 (Lifespan: 15 years).]
[Overall Strength: E-rank]
[Strength: 15 points]
[Agility: 15 points]
[Constitution: 15 points]
[Spirit: 10 points]
[Vitality: 15 points]
[Note! Excluding Vitality, 10 points is the base standard attribute for an average adult male.]
[Ability: None.]
[Points: 2 points]
After allocating the points, Zhao Yan went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. Physically, Zhao Yan no longer showed any signs of an old man; his muscles were clearly defined and looked full of power. His face still appeared to be in his fifties, but all his age spots had completely vanished. This filled Zhao Yan with delight. Being transmigrated into an old man's body had greatly depressed him, so now that he was gradually regaining his youth, how could Zhao Yan not be happy?
Just as Zhao Yan was admiring himself in the mirror, Lin Qing'er walked in, yawning and holding her phone. Lin Qing'er looked Zhao Yan up and down, then gave him a thumbs-up. "Alright, I get it, you're in great shape. Stop admiring yourself and look at this."
Zhao Yan took the phone and saw a message in the complex's owner group. A resident was spreading news about a theft at the large supermarket near the complex.
