Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies

"What is it?" Bai Meiyue arched a brow and asked.

Lei Qian opened his mouth and closed it again. Finally, he simply wilted and said to Bai Meiyue, "It's nothing; I just wanted to ask if you are free? I would like to wash off the blood."

Bai Meiyue knew that he wanted to say something else but changed his stance at the last moment. Though she was amused, she simply nodded and didn't expose him.

The two of them went to the emergency room that Lei Qian had cleaned up. However, just as she stepped inside, she saw Yun Chuan and the rest of the team standing inside the room discussing something. When they saw Bai Meiyue arrive, their expressions turned relieved.

"Thank goodness you came here. We were just about to go looking for you."

"Sister Bai, can we get some water?"

"I am really parched!"

"I would like two glasses of water if possible; I worked really hard in killing zombies just now."

When Bai Meiyue heard their whiny tone, she couldn't help but smile softly. She pursed her lips and and looked at the entire team. From Yun Chuan to Mo He, they were looking at her with the same pitiful gaze, which made her chuckle. If someone saw these supernatural beings begging in front of her, who knows what they might think of them?

Bai Meiyue nodded as she snapped her fingers and water droplets as big and squishy as a small box appeared in front of the three men and a woman. Yang Chunhua sighed in relief. She clasped hold of the water jelly cube and sucked on it. Her dried throat finally felt a bit better and she thanked Bai Meiyue. "It's a good thing that we have you, Sister Meiyue. Or else who knows what might happen to us?"

"Whats wrong?" Bai Meiyue asked with a raise of her eyebrows. "I thought Lu Yin brought a lot of water with her."

Yun Chuan rolled his eyes when he heard Bai Meiyue's question. "Why would we ask her to give us water?"

"Hehe, we are afraid that she will ask for something grand in exchange for it." Mo He chuckled as he raised his head and looked at Lei Qian, who stood next to Bai Meiyue. "We can't sell our dear leader for a few bottles of water, can we?"

Lei Qian's face turned red and he rushed ahead to kick the man on the back.

"What nonsense are you saying?" Lei Qian's face was flushed. He turned to look at Bai Meiyue and said to her, "I have never done anything with her."

Bai Meiyue quirked a brow up and remarked, "I didn't say anything."

But she had to admit that these people, though naive and straightforward, were quite smart. They understood that Lu Yin was trying to suck up to them because she wanted to get close to Lei Qian and would use every single favour to do that. Thus, Yun Chuan and the rest wanted to avoid it with all their strength.

Bai Meiyue didn't say anything. It was no wonder that these people were able to rise to the top in the past. They didn't need anyone to warn them; instead, they saw things clearly on their own without anyone telling them.

"Bring your water bottles," said Bai Meiyue. "I will fill them up."

No one had anything against it and quickly handed Bai Meiyue their water bottles, which Bai Meiyue filled in a matter of seconds. Before yawning and saying, "I am tired; I am going to sleep. I will see you all in the morning." after speaking, she glared at Lei Qian, silently telling him not to follow her.

Though he wanted to follow her, Lei Qian also knew that it was impossible because, at the same time Bai Jixuan arrived at the ward where he had brought Bai Meiyue and said to her, "Yueyue, come with your second brother. I have prepared a place for you to sleep."

As he spoke, he eyed Lei Qian proactively, as if asking him to challenge him.

Of course, Lei Qian wouldn't do something like that. Even though he felt that it was quite unfair, he had no choice but to lower his head and smile at the man with a flattering smile. Who asked him to be the pig who wanted to nibble on the cabbage of the Bai family?

Bai Jixuan rolled his eyes. He let Bai Meiyue walk past him and then turned to glare at Lei Qian before following her.

"Brother Lei," Mo He looked at how polite and respectful Lei Qian was towards Bai Jixuan and couldn't help but tease him. "With this speed, I am sure you will be able to win Miss Bai's heart in a hundred years or so."

"You bastard, come here!" Lei Qian spun on his heel and turned to look at the man who was cursing him. How dare he say that he wouldn't be able to win the heart of his beloved woman for more than a hundred years? He rushed towards Mo He, who scrambled to his feet and then ran in the opposite direction.

But it didn't take long for Lei Qian to tackle the man on the floor.

The sound of something falling on the floor made Bai Meiyue pause but she didn't stop and shook her head before walking to the emergency room that Bai Jixuan and Bai Zhan had cleared up for her. Once she arrived at the small emergency room, she climbed up on the bed, which was freshly made, and lay down to sleep.

Because Bai Meiyue was so tired, she fell asleep without many twists and turns. As soon as she fell asleep, Dacheng, who had been guarding the room's door, stepped inside. He was not too strong, and thus Bai Meiyue didn't perceive him as a danger and continued to sleep, which allowed Dacheng to come to a stop right beside her bed.

His eyes locked on her belly.
