Chapter 218: Hardy Ambushed and Furious!

Behind the stone pillar on the roof, Brother Hu was holding a slingshot, staring intently at Hardy and his team. Wang Yun stood on the roof of another building, directly opposite Brother Hu.

“Boss, I see the program inspectors. When do we make our move?”

“Don’t rush. There are too many people here. Wait until he passes the pavilion in front, then we’ll strike,” Wang Yun replied through the walkie-talkie.

They had been waiting for two days. In that time, they had prepared several cold weapons. These weapons couldn’t attack on a large scale but were lethal within a 20-meter range.

Wang Yun had given Brother Hu a slingshot, and its ammunition was small stones.

Don’t underestimate these small stones. They were coated with chemical powder. When this powder came into contact with any cloth, it would cause spontaneous combustion. And the fire was intense. So, once hit, the target’s combat effectiveness would be immediately lost.

There would also be a danger to life, depending on where the stone hit.

Old Song, on the other hand, was holding beer bottles. But these bottles weren’t filled with beer, they contained chemicals he had developed himself.

When he threw these bottles down, the liquid inside would fully react with the oxygen in the air, releasing a powerful stench. Once inhaled, this stench could cause rapid organ failure.

In other words, anyone who inhaled this smell would die.

“You tested all these things I gave you, right?” Wang Yun pressed the intercom in his ear and spoke to the Producer.

“They’ve been tested. The damage is extremely strong.”

With the executive producer’s words, a bloodthirsty smile formed on Wang Yun’s face.

Of course, he couldn’t use real deadly poison gas. The small stones were smeared with ordinary flour, and the beer bottles in Old Song’s hands were filled with tap water. Although these were simulated, they were designed to mimic the real damage.

Wang Yun also had a crossbow. The arrowhead of the crossbow was wrapped in cotton, but it was still extremely sharp. It could penetrate flesh in a second, and upon entry, the arrowhead would instantly deploy six sharp prismatic spikes.

If the arrow was pulled out hastily, it would inevitably bring out chunks of flesh and blood. These arrows were made by Wang Yun using sharp branches, including the crossbow itself.

Xiao Gang and Mosquito had weapons made from tree bark vines, similar to whips. However, the tops of these whips had hideous barbs.

Wang Yun also smeared powder on these barbs. Once they made contact, they would cause local paralysis. It was like being acupunctured.

As long as the vine whip struck, the hit area would immediately lose sensation and become immobile.

Most of these powders were provided by Old Song. The cold weapons, on the other hand, were crafted by Wang Yun.

“Get ready.”

Wang Yun’s eyes were as sharp as a falcon’s, fixed intently on his targets.

The four people led by Hardy were walking noticeably faster.

It was eight o’clock in the evening. The elderly residents of the old neighborhood liked to gather under the street lights to chat and play mahjong.

Just as Hardy walked past a street light and came to the side of a building, he found himself in a much darker area. There were no street lights, making the surroundings quite dim. The people around were a bit distant from them.

“Now!” Wang Yun commanded.

Brother Hu and Old Song, who were on the roof, sprang into action instantly.

A faint sound of something cutting through the air was heard. The next second, Hardy heard a cold grunt from the person next to him.

“What’s wrong?” Hardy turned around, frowning.

The person on his left was clutching his back, his face twisted in pain.

“Captain, something hit me!”

As soon as he finished speaking, a glass bottle suddenly fell in front of Hardy.

The sound was loud. The glass bottle shattered three meters away from them, and glass fragments splashed on them. It was very dark, and they couldn’t see the liquid in the bottle.

“Who!”

Hardy looked up, visibly angry.

“Ah! My foot!”

The next moment, another program inspector behind Hardy was hit. He clutched his ankle in pain and squatted down. However, as soon as he squatted down, a bow and arrow shot directly at Hardy. The speed was incredibly fast.

Hardy could only see a shadow coming toward him, and he reflexively dodged to the side. In doing so, he inadvertently exposed one of his men next to him.

The arrow hit a program inspector.

The arrowhead was wrapped in cotton, so it didn’t hurt much.

When the arrow fell to the ground, Hardy realized what had happened. He reacted immediately.

“It’s Wang Yun! Take cover! Retreat quickly!” Hardy shouted.

As the captain, his reactions were naturally quick. But his men weren’t as fast.

By the time Hardy shouted, he had already run to the side. Of the four team members he brought, two had been hit by small stones, and one by an arrow. The one hit by the arrow was eliminated on the spot. Those hit by the small stones found it difficult to move.

Only one remained unscathed, but just as he was about to run, he smelled a foul odor.

“It stinks,” he muttered softly, instinctively covering his nose.

As soon as he did, the voice of a staff member rang through his headset.

“You have inhaled lethal poison gas. You are now weak and will pass out. If no one saves you in ten seconds, you will be eliminated.”

The staff was waiting for someone to take action because it was impossible to judge the evaporation speed of the poison gas.

Normally, when people smell something bad, they instinctively cover their noses or make a face.

In desperation, this person had no choice but to lie on the ground. Meanwhile, their captain had already run ten meters away in the blink of an eye.

“Thor! Nico!”

Hardy had just taken a few steps and looked back. None of his teammates had followed. He shouted loudly, but the four of them slowly collapsed to the ground, writhing in pain. Their eyes were fixed on the distant glass bottle.

“Shit! Poison gas. There’s poison gas in it.”

Hardy immediately realized that the glass bottle hadn’t dropped accidentally. It was Wang Yun. All these ambushes were orchestrated by Wang Yun.

“Wang Yun, if you have the guts, come out! What kind of man plays dirty tricks behind people’s backs?” Hardy roared.

It was nighttime, and the old neighborhood was poorly lit, so he couldn’t see his surroundings clearly.

Additionally, Wang Yun hadn’t used a sniper rifle or anything that reflected light. His actions were too quick, leaving Hardy no time to pinpoint his location.

Hardy’s roar startled the old men playing mahjong under the streetlights. One old man looked up at Hardy, smacking his lips in disdain.

“Another drunkard, running around shouting. I bet he can’t find his way home.”

“Young people these days really have no manners. If you have a problem, solve it at home. Why are you making a fuss in the neighborhood?”
