Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Can It Make a Lot of Money?

However, Steven did not actually take out the redstone.

He was here in this world for fun, not to trigger some kind of industrial revolution. Whether people in this world use Originium energy or nuclear power, it had absolutely nothing to do with him.

They could play with whatever they wanted; it was none of his concern.

As for Oripathy, Steven had even less to say. As Warfarin mentioned, it was the choice of the people in this world to use Originium as an energy source. Naturally, they also had to bear the consequences it brought.

Steven had no grand aspirations of being a savior just because he was a transmigrator. Wasn't living an easy, carefree life much more enjoyable? Why go looking for trouble by trying to save the world?

Moreover, redstone wasn't just some random gadget that could be easily introduced.

If it were revealed, its impact might be even more outrageous than that of the potatoes he introduced earlier.

Potatoes, after all, only revolutionized agriculture at best—helping people fill their stomachs. But redstone tapped into the industrial skill tree, representing an infinite, inexhaustible energy source. For any world, this was a terrifying thing.

Given how tricky redstone was, Steven certainly wouldn't foolishly flaunt it. He gave the potatoes to Iberia's Inquisition because even a declining government could ensure stable agricultural development. Moreover, even if the secret got out, other nations wouldn't wage war over potatoes.

As Steven himself put it, he effectively hired all of Iberia to farm for him. While he had to give up some profits, the Inquisition also took on the associated troubles.

Redstone, however, was different. If its value were discovered, it might alter the entire world order. A world war wouldn't even be out of the question.

The preciousness of energy is clear—just look at how far certain countries have gone for oil.

The chaos would be immense.

Although Steven enjoyed watching chaos unfold, he absolutely didn't want to be the one to start it.

Who knows what kind of messy characters would start targeting him? Steven had no intention of being a laughingstock for others to observe day and night.

So, unless absolutely necessary, he would never bring out the redstone to show off.

"You see how dangerous the stuff you're carrying around is now, right? My suggestion is that when Rhodes Island docks to resupply, you find a chance to dig a hole and bury it. Or, just sell it to the nutcases at the energy station—you might even earn some Lungmen dollars," Warfarin advised earnestly when she saw Steven spacing out.

For him to carry something like that around and not be infected was a testament to his extraordinary constitution.

Warfarin's curiosity about Steven's physical makeup deepened.

Only a few people, like the Abyssal Hunters, exhibited such resistance to Originium. Could this mean Steven was indeed an Aegir?

Driven by intense curiosity, Warfarin couldn't wait to taste Steven's blood—only then could she find the truth.

Of course, Steven wasn't going to give her that chance.

"So, your operations focus on researching a cure for Oripathy and treating its sufferers?"

Steven wasn't concerned about Warfarin's warning about the explosive dangers of Originium. No matter how dangerous it was, once it entered his inventory, it had to behave.

What intrigued him more was the concept of Oripathy.

"Exactly. At least, that's my goal: finding a cure for Oripathy. It's also the pursuit of most medical staff at Rhodes Island," Warfarin replied.

"But didn't you just say that exposure to the stuff carries infection risks? Aren't you guys afraid?"

"So what? During operations, they're patients, and we're doctors. Everyone just plays their role," Warfarin said calmly, her demeanor entirely different from earlier when she had avoided Steven holding the Originium shard.

Steven believed her. In his original world, many doctors also worked on the front lines, risking their lives in extreme conditions.

In fact, Steven held high regard for the medical profession. If he hadn't transmigrated, he might have considered studying medicine himself.

Unfortunately, there were no "ifs." While he could pretend to be a doctor in his current identity, a few tricks like milk, healing potions, and golden apples were enough to make even the King of Hell turn away.

"Are you asking this because it doesn't concern you directly? You don't seem to show signs of Originium crystals, so maybe someone you care about has it?"

Warfarin asked curiously. Steven, someone unfamiliar with Oripathy, asking about it, seemed strange to her.

The Aegir girl Steven had brought along earlier didn't show symptoms either, leaving Warfarin to guess.

"No, I don't have anyone I care about. Well, not yet, anyway."

Steven casually shook his head, denying not just the idea of having a sick friend but the very notion of having someone he cared about.

In truth, he didn't care much about himself either.

"I'm just curious. Hypothetically speaking, if someone found a cure for this Oripathy…"

"Would they make a lot of money?"

Rubbing his fingers together, Steven wore the expression of a cunning merchant.

Money itself didn't interest him that much. What did interest him, however, was the potential for chaos and entertainment in such a situation.

Playing the role of a benevolent wandering doctor seemed like a perfect gig for someone who loved stirring up stories like Steven.

Performing dramatic rescues or carefree adventures—wouldn't that be an ideal life?

And with a unique professional identity, he'd always have a story to tell wherever he went.

"If you really had a cure for Oripathy, never mind anything else—Rhodes Island would treat you like royalty."

Thanks to Steven's antics, Warfarin didn't take him seriously. She simply sighed, recalling some unpleasant memories.

"Why?"

"Because at least two-thirds of Rhodes Island's staff are Oripathy sufferers."

Standing at the medical room's door, which the brown-haired girl had previously burst through, Kal'tsit entered with a young girl who introduced herself as Amiya. As they walked in, Kal'tsit answered Steven's question.
