Chapter 2: 2. The Mortal Realm Awakening
Chapter 2: The Mortal Realm Awakening
Aryan had finally stepped into the **Mortal Realm**. He had successfully reached **Stage One, Sub-stage One** of the Mortal Level. As he attained this foundational step, a sudden sound echoed from within his body—**like the cracking of an egg**. It wasn't painful, but it was powerful. The moment the cracking sound resonated through his being, Aryan felt as though **several chains wrapped around his body had shattered**.
With their breaking came a wave of liberation. His body felt **light as air**, as if a massive burden had been lifted from his shoulders. For the first time, he felt not just strong—but **free**. And why shouldn't he feel so? He had now become something greater than an ordinary human. **He was a cultivator.**
As his body pulsed with fresh energy, Aryan's cultivation continued to rise at a steady pace. His advancement through the initial stages of the Mortal Realm was swift. From **Stage One, Sub-stage Two**, he moved effortlessly through the sub-stages, and before long, he reached the **peak of Stage One**.
When he reached the peak, however, his progress came to a sudden halt. The rapid ascent that had carried him through the early stages had now paused. At first, Aryan was confused—why had the growth stopped?
But as he meditated on the experience, he began to sense something deeper. A divine power, subtle yet powerful, had started flowing into his body. It was **not merely physical energy—it was spiritual, cosmic, and ancient**. Aryan had unknowingly begun the true path of cultivation, and by this point, it was crystal clear: **he had stepped into the Mortal Realm as a cultivator**.
With his progression stalled at Stage One's peak, Aryan didn't hesitate. He immediately reached for the **second-stage cultivation manual** and began reading. The moment he began practicing the techniques written in that manual, the spiritual energy in the atmosphere **responded to his presence**. Like iron to a magnet, it started entering his body again.
Slowly but surely, Aryan ascended to **Mortal Stage Two**. And again, as before, his pace was relentless. **Stage Two, Sub-stage One**, then Two, then Three—and finally, he reached **Stage Two Peak**. With each stage, Aryan could feel the changes—his body was not just growing stronger; it was evolving.
By the time he started reading the **Stage Three** manual, there was no doubt: **Aryan had become a true cultivator**, and his journey was only beginning. He mastered Stage Three, and soon after, conquered the **techniques of Stage Four** as well, reaching **Stage Four Peak**.
At this point, Aryan took a moment to appreciate his progress. His **muscles were denser**, his **bones were harder than steel**, and even his internal organs had become **resilient like enchanted artifacts**. He clenched his fists and marveled at his newfound power. He felt like he could take on armies—**he felt invincible**.
But his journey didn't stop there.
Now that he had reached the peak of Mortal Stage Four, he stood at a crossroads. He had access to both **physical cultivation** and **spiritual (soul) cultivation** techniques. It was time to choose: should he first strengthen his body further or enhance his soul?
After contemplating for a while, Aryan decided to prioritize the **Physical Cultivation Technique**. With that, he summoned the ancient manual detailing the secrets of physical cultivation and began to read.

### **"If the body is a temple for spiritual energy, it is also a dam—a container that must be strong enough to hold the rising tide within."**
Physical cultivation, as Aryan now understood, was the act of tempering the body into a fortress—a vessel capable of housing limitless energy without collapsing. As he read, his body instinctively began absorbing the **spiritual energy** from the surrounding atmosphere.
The transformation began gradually.
First, his **skin hardened**, becoming tougher than stone. Then, his **muscles expanded and strengthened**, weaving themselves tighter and more resilient. His **bones thickened and grew denser**, like compressed diamonds forged under celestial pressure. Finally, every **organ and inner structure** of his body aligned and strengthened, forming an indestructible system.
By the end of his physical cultivation, Aryan's body had become **so resilient** that even a **bullet train traveling at 500 kilometers per hour** would fail to inflict damage. His body had transcended mortal limitations.
Once again, a **cracking sound**, like the breaking of a divine egg, echoed from within. It was the sound of **another shackle breaking**, the sound of transcendence. Aryan felt even lighter, as though he could float through the air. A joyful grin spread across his face.
Now that his **physical cultivation** was complete, Aryan turned to the next challenge—**soul cultivation**.
Without hesitation, he summoned the manual for **Soul Cultivation: Mortal Realm, Stage One**. The book appeared before him, floating mid-air, glowing softly. Aryan began to read, and almost immediately, he was drawn into its spiritual mysteries.
---
Just as a strong body is essential for storing spiritual energy, a **strong soul is vital for guiding that power**. The manual compared the soul to a driver and the body to a vehicle—no matter how powerful a car is, it's useless without a skilled driver.
A strong body with a weak soul is a wasted weapon. It can be easily controlled, corrupted, or destroyed by enemies who specialize in soul attacks. However, a strong soul—even in a weak body—can survive and protect its essence. That was the first lesson Aryan absorbed from the ancient text.
As Aryan read deeper into the manual, he suddenly felt a strange sensation—his **soul began to emerge from his body**.
To his surprise, his soul looked exactly like his physical form, as if a **twin copy of himself** had emerged, floating in the air. But there was one clear difference: his soul was **translucent**, lacking density. It had yet to be solidified.
Almost instinctively, Aryan's soul returned to his body, and then, something extraordinary happened—his soul began **absorbing spiritual energy** from the atmosphere, not just nearby, but from **up to 5 kilometers away**.
Because his body had already consumed most of the surrounding energy during physical cultivation, his soul reached far beyond to find more. And with each breath, each second, his soul grew stronger.
Aryan swiftly advanced through the **Soul Cultivation stages**. He reached **Stage One, Sub-stage One**, then quickly moved to the **peak of Stage One**, and soon after that, began practicing the techniques for **Stages Two through Four**.
By the time he reached **Mortal Soul Cultivation: Stage Four Peak**, Aryan was confident. His soul was now a radiant, glowing force within him, like a second sun.
However, just as he prepared to attempt **Stage Five**, something went wrong.
The moment he directed his intent toward advancing further, a **violent backlash** hit his soul. It was like a thunderous jolt from the heavens. Aryan nearly blacked out, his consciousness faltering. His soul had come dangerously close to collapsing.
Realizing the danger, Aryan immediately halted his practice. The higher techniques of soul cultivation clearly required **greater preparation or resources** he didn't yet possess.
He made a wise decision—to **pause soul cultivation** for now and turn his attention elsewhere.

### **Exploring the Heavenly Library**
Aryan then remembered something he had previously neglected—the **Heavenly Library**, an ancient, mystical repository of knowledge that he had access to but hadn't yet explored fully.
With time now on his side, Aryan decided to explore it deeply.
As he focused his mind, the library manifested before him in his spiritual domain. The towering bookshelves stretched endlessly into the skies, each shelf packed with countless tomes, scrolls, and manuals. Ladders climbed the heights, but as Aryan tried to ascend one, he realized they were **illusions**—just like the books he had summoned earlier, they were **spiritually reactive objects**.
Books did not need to be physically touched; they responded to intent. Aryan simply had to summon the one he wished to read, and it would float before him.
He wandered deeper into the library, studying its design and layout. Eventually, in a quiet corner—three shelves away from his soul cultivation section—he noticed a **mysterious book resting alone**.
Curious, he reached toward it—but the moment he did, a sharp **shock** coursed through his hand.
Startled, he looked beside the book and noticed a **warning inscribed on a glowing plaque**:
> **"Do not attempt to access this book until you have completed the Mortal Realm."**
Aryan stepped back. Whatever knowledge the book contained, he wasn't ready for it yet. He respected the warning and decided to leave it for a future time.
With that, Aryan left the Heavenly Library and slowly returned to his physical awareness.

### **Return to Reality**
As his consciousness returned, Aryan opened his eyes and scanned the environment around him. Morning sunlight filtered in gently through the cave's opening. Judging by the brightness, it must have been around **8 or 9 a.m.**
He looked down and grimaced. His body was coated in a **thick, black, sticky substance**—a layer of **impurities expelled during cultivation**. It smelled foul, heavy with toxins his body had purged.
Disgusted, Aryan stepped out of the cave to search for water. He scouted the area, but no water source was nearby. Left with no choice, he decided to leave the cave behind and explore the mountains further.
After some time, he heard the sound of **water crashing**. Moving quickly, he followed the sound and eventually came upon a **massive waterfall**, eerily similar to **Niagara Falls**. It cascaded from a towering height, crashing into a deep natural pool below.
Eager to cleanse himself, Aryan jumped in.
The water was freezing cold but refreshing. As he bathed, however, he suddenly felt a strange sensation—**a warning from his instincts**. His heart pounded, and a chill—not from the water—ran down his spine.
Something dangerous was nearby.
He dismissed the feeling at first, thinking it might be paranoia. But the pressure grew. Aryan immediately exited the water, and just moments later, a **massive shadow** slithered out from beneath the falls.
A **giant serpent**, larger than any creature Aryan had ever imagined, emerged. Its scales shimmered like obsidian, and its eyes were filled with primal rage. It lashed out violently—exactly where Aryan had been standing seconds earlier.
Had he stayed even a moment longer, the serpent's attack would've torn him apart.
Aryan stood frozen, his voice caught in his throat, terror gripping his heart. What had he just seen?
What kind of monstrous serpent had Aryan encountered? Why did it appear right after his breakthrough? Is this the true beginning of the dangers that lie ahead?
