Chapter 55: The Mountain Collapses
The next moment, a thunderous rumble echoed through the sky as if heralding a bolt from the blue, the powerful shockwave rapidly expanding once again.
"Boom!"
Cassius, his dragon body ablaze, collided directly into the chest of the Abyssal Giant Dragon, producing sparks, a violent explosion, and thick gunpowder smoke.
The two hundred-meter-class behemoths tangled together, wrestling in mid-air, causing the sky to tremble and space to shudder.
Gelrazax's body, nearly three hundred meters long, was far larger than the over one hundred meters long Red Dragon, and should have displayed a crushing dominance in terms of strength.
But compared to the Abyssal Giant Dragon's gaunt, decayed body, Cassius's dragon form was much more robust and sturdy, with muscles distinct and firm as iron balls, and surrounded by the power of laws.
Almost in an instant, the Red Dragon took advantage of its diving momentum to once again gain the upper hand, continuously pressing down on the chest of the Abyssal Giant Dragon.
"Ao—
Eat, eat you!"
Gelrazax roared madly, flailing his sharp claws in a struggle, wildly waving his broken wings, twisting his head to bite wildly, splashing foul saliva.
"Tsks...
A beast in its death throes!"
Cassius seized the opportunity, agilely dodged the giant claws and sharp teeth in the sky, and with two steps made in three, jumped to the back of the Abyssal Giant Dragon, biting down hard at the location of its wing bones.
A crisp "crack" sound was heard as the wing bone of the Abyssal Giant Dragon broke, and its vast wings that once could block out the sun now hung limply.
"Ao!"
Gelrazax painfully stretched his neck, howling skyward, his eyes already turning red. He frantically scratched, even leaving fresh, bloody wounds on his own body.
The Abyssal Giant Dragon struggled incessantly, covered in injuries, with purple-black Dragon Blood and dark red scales splashing in the air.
But Cassius was not at all afraid, instead stepping on the spine of the Abyssal Giant Dragon, tightening his wings, and piercing his claws deeply into its flesh, pressing it down.
He opened his mouth wide, revealing a fierce smile, and said in a low voice, "Now is the time... Gelrazax, I've got you!"
"Roar—"
The Red Dragon emitted a loud roar, its whole body's veins protruding, the Power of Laws entwined, and the gravity around abruptly intensifying tenfold, as if a mountain harshly pressed down on Gelrazax.
The power of "Imperial Region: Seal Exclusion" extinguished the raging chaotic gale, preventing it from supporting the Abyssal Giant Dragon.
And the wingless Gelrazax, exerting all his strength to flap his remaining wing, was utterly unable to maintain the balance of his massive dragon body, let alone bear the impact of the Red Dragon.
"Bang—"
The next moment, accompanied by a sharp whistle as the air was torn apart, the two entwined gargantuan beasts fell from the sky, like immense meteors crashing down.
These two dragons, together weighing nearly a million tons, thus crashed into the middle of Terry Peak!
"Boom!"
Accompanied by the quaking of the mountain and the explosive sounds of earth and stones, the crash generated billowing dust soaring into the sky, carrying broken rocks and sand, sweeping in all directions, engulfing tens of miles of sky and ground.
The middle of Terry Peak was gouged out, creating a crater hundreds of meters in diameter and dozens of meters deep, as though bitten by a terrifying beast.
It was not just Terry Peak, nor merely the Ancytica Mountains, but the entire Anzeta Great Wilderness that was shaking, swaying!
The battle of these two giant dragons produced a momentum that was earth-shattering, causing spectators miles away to feel tremors, fear, and awe.
"What a terrifying might!"
"Gods, this is truly like the apocalypse..."
"Bahamut above... such a giant dragon duel hasn't occurred in over ten thousand years."
"Look! Quick, look at Terry Peak! How, how is that possible?"
The "crack" sound of shattering rocks became more distinct, and deep fissures gradually appeared on the towering mountain body of Terry Peak thousands of meters high, with scorching magma spouting out from within.
Under the devastation of the giant dragons, the mountain's internal rock layers had long been unable to bear the burden and thus fractured and shattered.
"Boom—"
That was the Earth's prolonged lament, the final elegy of the mountain.
Countless chunks of rock tumbled down, the mountain body, like a Giant about to fall, toppled backward powerlessly. The dust raised by the mountain's collapse once again swept over the land, surging tumultuously.
The highest mountain in the North, Terry Peak, venerated by the Scania People for centuries as the "King of the Snowy Mountains," thus thunderously collapsed.
However, within the ruins of that mountain, amidst the pervasive dust and gravel, two massive shadows were still entangled in combat.
"Roar—"
They emitted enraged roars that caused the dust and smoke to keep swirling, and the ruined land continued to tremble.
Yet at this moment, the Abyssal Giant Dragon was already covered in wounds, with half of its body buried in soil and rock, its left wing hanging limply, showing no signs of its formerly formidable presence.
But even in such a state, Gelrazax could easily crush countless mundane objects and destroy a Human city.
Unfortunately for him, his opponent was Cassius—and it was Cassius within the Imperial Region, in possession of supreme authority.
With the Abyssal Giant Dragon serving as a cushion, Cassius was unharmed in the previous crash.
In the dilute golden pupils of the Red Dragon, flames surged. The formidable dragon body radiated a terrible pressure and emitted a faint whiff of gunpowder.
Without any care, Gelrazax rose from the ruins, countless rocks and dirt falling off its dragon body, the ground rumbling as it dragged its injured body toward Cassius.
"Boom!"
Dust flew up again, and soil and rock splattered everywhere.
However, in its frenzied state, Gelrazax's attack was far too obvious; its actions appeared like slow motion in the eyes of Cassius with the Heaven's Calamity Dragon Eye.
Cassius merely waved his wings lightly and soared into the air, evading the attack and positioning himself above the Abyssal Giant Dragon.
"Slash—"
His claws swooped down through the air, striking the back of the Abyssal Giant Dragon. Shattered scales scattered, and dark purple blood smeared the face of the Red Dragon.
Several long, deep scratches appeared on the back of the Abyssal Giant Dragon, eliciting a painful howl from it.
Gelrazax struggled fiercely, twisting its limbs, attempting to roll over and press the Red Dragon beneath its body, but the immense pressure made it unable to move.
Cassius gave a fierce smile, relentlessly clinging to the back of the Abyssal Giant Dragon, biting towards its only remaining left wing bone. His sharp teeth interlocked, and his head violently jerked.
"Crackle—"
Blood splattered, and the Abyssal Giant Dragon's vast wings were brutally torn off, leaving a hundred-meter-long jagged tear in the wing membrane.
"Oww—"
Another agonizing howl echoed as Gelrazax extended its neck, its massive dragon body trembling violently.
By then, both wings of the Abyssal Giant Dragon had fallen off, the fresh blood spraying like rain from its back, and under the Seal Exclusion, even resurrecting flames couldn't heal its wounds.
At this moment, Gelrazax no longer resembled a giant dragon, but rather a skinnily emaciated Land Dragon Beast.
Standing on the back of the Abyssal Giant Dragon, the Red Dragon had an intimidating gaze and a mouth dripping with fresh blood, growling lowly, "Gelrazax, how does it feel to be treated as prey?
Don't worry, this is just the beginning, Vengeful Demon. I will return to you everything you've done to me—all of it!"
