Chapter 753: Invading the Great Consciousness Entity!
Returning to the Plaza of Glory, Augustine, whose consciousness had been erased, was now alongside the remaining Legion of Hell, setting up defenses around the royal city.
Although the overall strength of the Legion of Hell could not breach the boundaries of powerful Divine Beings, if it hadn't been for their sacrificial resistance, it's likely that Sterl would never have escaped from the core in time. He would have been severely injured by Fay and fallen into a disadvantageous position.
When facing a powerhouse like Fay, once you fall into the disadvantage, things can spiral out of control. The successive blows will keep coming, relentlessly crushing you until you're dead.
Therefore, the stronger you are, the more crucial the timing becomes during battle.
Of course, Sterl's destruction of this Orichalcum Kingdom attack and nearly capturing the three mighty Divine Powers was enough to make them wary. For the time being, they were unlikely to come after him again.
After all, no one could be certain whether Sterl could still unleash that kind of power. Although those mighty Divine Beings followed the orders of the Wings of the Divine Kingdom, they were not going to throw their lives away for nothing.
Furthermore, the fate of Artigas and Tosman was a deterrent. It made everyone cautious. Until they were fully prepared, no one wanted to be the first to step up.
Sterl placed his hand on the sculpture and, with a thought, his soul immediately entered the core space.
The battle with the three mighty Divine Powers didn't last long, and given that the time flow in the core space was far slower than in the main world, the golden barriers that had been eroded hadn't had much time to recover.
Without hesitation, Sterl began releasing the immense soul power from his soul body, fully committing to eroding the remaining soul fragments.
During this process, Sterl didn't even use his evolutionary abilities. He focused entirely on releasing his soul power, striving to finish the task in one go, to prevent the Orichalcum Kingdom from using any further tricks.
Half a day passed, and the entire core space, aside from the golden light sphere floating above, had turned colorless and devoid of any master.
"Just one more step."
Taking a deep breath, Sterl paused for a moment. The continuous release of soul power had taken a significant toll on him.
Looking at the golden light sphere above, it was clear that this was the remnant consciousness of the great Divine Being who had created the royal city.
To completely replace the core, in addition to eradicating the remaining soul power in the core space, the most critical step was to deal with this lingering consciousness.
As long as this consciousness remained, it would eventually imprint its mark onto the core again.
This was why, despite the fury of the Orichalcum Kingdom, they had not taken any further actions yet.
One reason they hadn't acted yet was that they were unable to stabilize the core space, and the other reason was their confidence in the consciousness within the core space.
This was the remnant of a great Divine Being. Even though it was just a fragment, and it had been eroded by the passage of time, it was still the power of a great Divine Being!
Sterl was confident in the strength of his own soul, but he wasn't arrogantly reckless.
In situations where he wasn't sure of his success, he wouldn't act.
With a slight movement of his thoughts, a brilliant object, almost like a bubble, appeared in his hand. It was the Illusory Dream, now fully replenished with Dream Power.
But that wasn't all. His eyes narrowed, and the Gate of Purgatory opened in front of him. One by one, high-level soul puppets began to emerge from Purgatory Space.
Before long, there were two thousand high-level soul puppets in the core space.
These were the total number created by the ten mother bodies during this period.
Holding the Illusory Dream, Sterl didn't hesitate. He immediately released the accumulated Dream Power within.
A vast amount of invisible Dream Power surged out, and under Sterl's control, it enveloped each soul puppet.
Dream Power possessed the power to manifest the void, and what Sterl was doing now was imbuing each of the puppets with a layer of powerful Divine Power!
As for the source of the Divine Power, it was, of course, inspired by the powers of Artigas, Tosman, and Fay.
Although Sterl hadn't mastered strong Divine Power, he had fought against powerful Divine Beings, which gave him insight into their might and effects. He then used the power of Dream Power to forcibly simulate and manifest it.
"Not bad. The strength isn't far off, but the number is a bit too sparse."
He grabbed one of the soul puppets, examining the faint layer of Divine Power that swirled around it, clearly satisfied.
"Just what level of power is Dream Power? It can even simulate and manifest such powerful Divine Power..."
His eyes gleamed with interest. He hadn't forgotten that he still possessed an item that could lead to Dreamland.
[Dream Orb]
[Description: A gemstone containing the Law of Dreams, seemingly fused with some mysterious power, granting it the ability to connect to unknown worlds. By using this orb, one might gain unimaginable rewards—or, perhaps... encounter an unexpected crisis. Once, the Orichalcum Kingdom used this orb to gain vast wealth, until an uncontrollable crisis caused the orb to be sealed here forever.]
[Effect: Can open the Gateway of Passage, allowing entry into the endless dream world to explore unknown mysteries and powers.
Upon entering the dream world, the user's status is slightly enhanced.]
[Note: Current uses left for the Dream Orb: 5]
This orb was also obtained from the royal city's treasury.
It had been enhanced once using his evolution ability, which increased the number of uses by two and slightly enhanced the identity gained upon entering.
From the subtle clues, it was clear that the Orichalcum Kingdom had definitely explored Dreamland at some point. However, the world was incredibly dangerous. Yet, the power of Dream Power was so enticing that Sterl couldn't resist.
If he could fully master this power, even facing the entire upper realms, he would have enough confidence to stand his ground.
Sterl immediately made up his mind. Once he had completely taken control of the royal city, he would use the Dream Orb to enter Dreamland for exploration.
Though dangerous, he knew that the greater the risk, the greater the reward. If he wanted to rapidly increase his strength, he would have to endure risks far beyond the ordinary.
He stored the Illusory Dream, now depleted of nearly all its Dream Power, and extended his hand toward the golden light sphere floating above.
"Go, crush it for me."
At his command, the two thousand soul puppets went wild, charging straight toward the consciousness entity within the light sphere.
The golden light sphere in the air seemed to react to the provocation, its light intensifying and becoming more blinding. Even with Sterl's strength of soul, he could feel a burning sensation from it.
Hum!
The light expanded, forming a ring. Wherever it passed, soul puppets shattered and were destroyed. In just one encounter, over a hundred high-level soul puppets, imbued with Dream Power, were obliterated.
The remaining soul puppets ignored this, continuing to charge forward.
These puppets had no independent consciousness and obeyed Sterl's orders unconditionally. Even though the golden light sphere represented the consciousness of a great Divine Being, they showed no fear or hesitation.
The light ring spread again, continuing to reap the soul puppets.
But Sterl could clearly sense that with each explosion, the light sphere's brilliance dimmed slightly, and the aura it emitted grew weaker.
By the time it exploded for the eighth time, the sphere seemed to have exhausted all its energy, falling into a state of silence. And then—
Boom!!
The sphere suddenly expanded tenfold, and a powerful wave of energy surged forward.
The surrounding soul puppets hesitated for a moment, then all rushed toward Sterl's location, surrounding him in a massive ball.
As the force swept through, the soul puppets blocking Sterl's front were obliterated in large numbers, many of them losing limbs and parts of their bodies, on the brink of complete destruction.
But Sterl, protected by the sphere of soul puppets, remained completely unharmed. As the ball of puppets dispersed, Sterl walked out from within, unscathed.
Sterl looked once more at the golden light sphere, which had now completely lost its vibrancy. The golden light on its surface had dimmed, and it seemed on the verge of collapsing.
Even so, it seemed to have no intention of striking back. Instead, it commanded the remaining few hundred soul puppets to continue charging forward.
This was Sterl's unique soul swarm tactic. It appeared to be the most basic approach, but it was also the most unanswerable one.
You see, while these soul puppets might not contain much soul power, the strength of their soul power was immense!
Even the soul strength of a single puppet could rival that of a high-ranking divine authority.
With such a massive number of puppets, even the Orichalcum Kingdom couldn't gather such a force. The true power of this tactic lay in the Purgatory Space created by Soul Prison's Eerie Eyes, which made this ability truly formidable.
Roar!
Soon, hundreds of soul puppets surrounded the golden light sphere. They didn't attempt to attack but, without hesitation, detonated themselves in unison!
Simple and crude, but incredibly powerful.
The already high-strength soul puppets, combined with the Dream Power enhancement, made the self-detonations' power unimaginable.
With each detonation, the golden sphere trembled slightly.
After ten self-detonations, a crack appeared on the surface of the sphere.
After a hundred detonations, the single crack had multiplied into more than ten. After two hundred detonations, streams of golden light leaked out from the cracks, then vanished.
The consciousness within was dissipating and collapsing.
By the time the last soul puppet exploded, the golden light sphere was almost unrecognizable. Cracks covered its surface, and most of the consciousness within had vanished, as though it had been repeatedly ravaged.
Seeing this, Sterl didn't let his guard down. The experience with Artigas and the others had made it clear that beings of the powerful Divine Being tier had an insurmountable gap between them and lower-tier entities.
Even the remaining fragment of the consciousness left by the great Divine Being, no matter how small, could still harbor risks and traps. A mere touch could lead to catastrophic consequences.
Thus, to be absolutely safe, Sterl gently waved his hand.
